@DerrickDuck I went to a rock concert in September and chose to drive 2.5 hours to Boston rather than take a 90 minute train to NYC. And I hate driving.
@@tomburns8441 you’re welcome! It cost $945 but gives a lot of Amtrak reward points so other shorter, coach rides can be free. It’s not customary to tip the staff, who you likely won’t see much of as things are sort of automated. Like when you sit down for dinner your meal is already there with your name on it and no staff will be in the area at all. Enjoy!
How was the dreaded, "Flexible Dining" as opposed to Traditional Dining? Was it at least tasty?? I have heard horror stories about it. Some saying the food is actually better in the cafe'/lounge!
@@peterconrad6135 well I’m not much of a “foodie,” so I tend to think any food is good as long as it’s free - as it was for first class passengers on Amtrak. I did try most of the flexible meals (there were five) and even though I’m easily pleased I still thought they were all delicious. I never needed to go to the coach cafe for additional food as I was well fed and pleasantly surprised. But for a food connoisseur, they’d likely think it was similar to McDonald’s or Burger King haha. It was tasty but not haute cuisine :)
@@pennytill5183 haha well I actually did eat in the dining car - all the shots of food were in the dining car, but it wasn’t the busy dining car for coach passengers, but rather the Sleeping. Car dining car; since I was one of the only Sleeping Car guests on the train, it was only me and a few of the others on it :) but it was still a dining car nonetheless! :)
@ yeah they certainly have limited space here. The good news is the toilet is always clean because there was a whole bunch of shampoo falling on it haha
This was very I formative thank you so much😊
I have seen others traveling on the train with the dumper right in the cabin. A separate room for it is much more desirable.
Wish they had trains like this up in Connecticut. Metro North to NYC is like being trapped in the 9th of level of hell.
@@John_Locke_108 yeah there aren’t too many routes like this…hopefully one day they’ll improve in the Connecticut/NYC region!

Thank you for this
@@mikeschiesel2852 a pleasure!
The lunch lady sounded really stoned.
@@rmsvend she’s hilarious! 🤣
thank you, I have never done this. Can you share the cost ? Is it customary to tip any of the staff ?

The room looks nice but too small for this 6'2" guy.

Why didn't you ever eat in the diner?

Toilet shower 😂😂
@@potholepete777 😝
So you have to wait hours for it to dry before going to the bathroom? Or are there rags to dry it? Horrible design.

@DerrickDuck 😂😂😂 That's what I tell my wife when she asks me to clean the shower.
The soap got me clean so how can the shower be dirty?
@ 🤣
it does not look roomy for anyone over 6ft tall.
@@Its_the_Whole_Everything good observation. I’m petite so I fit anywhere haha 🤣
I couldn't stand listening to the voice of the narrator so couldn't finish the video. YUCK!!!
Most pathetic first class train compartment I have ever seen.
