This is the proper length for a late model race. Every time they have these big crown jewel events that are 100 laps there's great action and hard racing all weekend and then when the A main comes around they go out there driving miss daisy around to save tires.
It all sort of depends on the track. The Topless 100 this year had some pretty good racing throughout the feature. But that's because Batesville is a 3/8 mile. 100 laps on a half miler like Port Royal they have to play the long game or they'll have a blowout with 10 to go.

To watch him run whatever he is in on the ragged edge, he makes brilliant moves, MOST, of the time. ...but, theres those few times he takes it too far. He is definitely fun to watch. That said...I'd say there are plenty of moving parts no one else know about in this whole silly season fiasco that (suddenly??) converged. Here in the Larson era of racing diversity, other guys are now wanting to branch out as well, and it appears as if Ricky is one of them. Burns may not like that idea for his own reasons. He's the owner, after all. But it's the same as the criminal Gibbs not letting CBell race sprints. Anyway, O'neal, after winning a championship with Rocket, suddenly tells Richards to go f#*k himself (more moving parts there), starts his own team (mid-season no less) and fails miserably. Then he goes bawling to sugardaddy to bail him out. Ricky apparently voiced his disapproval about having a teammate (like Earnhardt - Childress - Skinner), even though he has two now with Koehler. I'm sure there's much more to the whole thing than that. And then there was Port Royal. Like DW used to say, "8 wheels corner better than 4." So here we are. If anyone knows the actual facts, I'm all ears. But I'd love to see Thornton hook up with Rumley again.

I'm a 30-35 lapper myself but 50 is much better than 100. I never even watch highlights from a 100 lapper.
