Sarah i have to say you are a breath of fresh air. Your honest straightforward and a real hoot to watch and listen to. Also i want to thank you for your service in the USAF. I have a son who also is serving in Warner Robins GA. As far as the head lights go great choice looks great. I just updated my 2015 fusion with all led lights from auxbeam as well and very happy with the out come. Keep up the great work. And thanks again for your honesty and fantastic sence of humor.
Nice how-to video. I like that you called out the packaging, as it seems that the bulb manufacturer put more effort into it then one would expect for an automotive bulb. Plus the little bit of historical background on the origins of yellow headlights was a nice touch. Keep up the fine work!
Would have enjoyed watching F.Gump riding through the night roads w the foggies on 🗼🗽 the packaging on those bulbs are designed nicely {I'm into design} - thanks for another adventure in car care land 💃🕺
I just converted my 2018 Hyundai Sonata's low and high beams to LED last weekend. Both bulbs are 9005. With the location of the housings and all the stuff around them I actually had to drop the bumper cover and remove the headlights themselves to install. Took about an hour total. Easier than I thought. Big difference. I won't give you the company that I got the bulbs from in case you didn't want to have a different name than Auxbeam on the video. By the way........great channel. Love the presentation, even the "ackwardness" you display in the videos is endearing. Keep up the great work.
Excellent review! Very helpful as I haven't really heard of any US based merchant that has LED headlight replacements for under a couple hundred dollars. Couple of things I want to share with the idea of trying to be helpful as well. DRLs...Daytime Running Lights, are meant to be used during the daytime, not at night. I work nights and every night I drive to work I see at least 3-4 people driving with JUST their DRLs on...no tail lights at all on a dimly lit freeway. The reason your halogen lamps were so far gone is because the typical way of implementing DRLs with several car makers is to use the normal High beam lamp at reduced voltage. The problem is that how the halogens work is by higher heat vaporizing the surface of the metal filament whose tungsten atoms then combine with the gas...once it cools the atoms are redeposited onto the filament. Operating as lower powered lamps (DRLs) means the tungsten doesn't vaporize properly and combine with the gas but instead forms a film on the inside of the bulb (which is quartz btw, not glass) which then begins to soak up the much higher levels of infrared energy (heat) until it literally melts through the envelope. Auto makers really need to stop using this cheap way (for them) of creating DRLs and just use separate lamps, preferably LEDs. The new lights look awesome and I thought you did a great job of reviewing them. The yellow lights used in France did help identify locals from the invading army but it wasn't the intended use. They originally were used for the lower glare the road lights (known as high beams here) had on oncoming drivers. It's called selective yellow and yes that's actually the name of the particular shade of yellow used on headlights and fog lights. The filtering of the blue end of the spectrum is supposed to reduce the dazzle effect in fog, rain and snow and increase our visual acuity. It turns out that white light wasn't so dazzling to oncoming drivers when the lights were aimed correctly. Uugh...TLDR: Turn on your headlights at night, halogens aren't designed to be underpowered and yellow lights were meant for safety. Probably be ordering a set of lights from Auxbeam soon, thanks for mentioning them. Came to your channel through flying sparks. ;)
Looks Auxome! I’ve got an Auxbeam light bar on the front of my K-car wagon and put yellow tint over it, love it! Yellow is also better for visibility than any other color light in rain/snow :)
I have had all Sylvania LED bulbs in my Baja for a few years now. I have only had one headlight fail. I replaced the "snaperdoodles" on my bumpers and splash guards with stainless slip over sheetmetal nuts and bolts. Makes it soooo much easier to take off.
I have the Auxbeam F16’s on my Taco. I was nervous about LED’s at first, but they are well worth the money! $50 is really worth. Just as she stated, the packaging is really premium for headlight bulbs and tightening with the seal needed a little more torque than OEM bulbs.
Love the headlight retrofits. I’ve done a few friends plus upgraded my own vehicles. The new drl’s and fogs look superb on those roll bys. Keep up the great content Sarah
Packaging really does make a difference its always nice to get something with such good packaging you don’t want to damage it or throw it away or w.e. Neat history lesson. Those seem to be great bulbs👍
The packaging is worthy of Waterford Crystal. I like LED lights but they are still pretty pricey. Fact is, a set of LED headlights are worth more than my car. Always enjoy your videos!!
100k Play button unboxing video coming soon! I'm soo happy your channel is ping great your content keeps me entertained and is very informational! Keep being awesome Sarah 😁
Snapperdoodles! I must be the snapperdoodle assassin cuz I kill them every time I see them. Do more product reviews Sarah! Congrats on 35k subs! Been sick the past 3 weeks so I've just been watching YT vids, and of course your vids.
The bulb you used on the DRL is the type of bulb you should have put in the fog lights. The bulb style you put in the fog light is more for turn signals, break lights ect. That style does not project much light. The type you installed on your DRLs are higher output cree LEDs and project more light. Just some food for thought, if you ever decide your fog lights are not bright enough.
*Packaging nerd alert* That is awesome packaging. The colour scheme and graphics make it look like MSI/MEC mountain climbing gear. I want those DRLs for my Outback, it seems to add a lot of light to the road a night, almost like a second fog light.
I literally just had a headlight bulb go out so I pickup up and installed some Sylvania ZXE’s like....yesterday. Looked good when I installed them on my fiancé’s Sonic, figured meh why not on the Jetta? They actually look good and are just the right amount of brightness, though they are white - not bluish like the tint on them would lead you to believe.
Hi Sarah, I have installed the latest version Auxbeam NF -X3 H7 on my Ford Focus ( Multi Reflector non Projector ) Low Beam Head light ) at first I had issue with the anchoring had to order the clips for holding the bulbs , Auxbeam Refunded 50 % for they did not provide this or had no info on this. This version comes with a glass protector on the bulbs with an additional Flims provided by Auxbeam in the box to convert the standard 6500k to 3000k or 8500k with Yellow and blue flims Respectively. I must say the product and customer service is on par with rest of the brands. Unfortunately till now I have not been able to adjust my optimal light beam focus since it’s multireflective headlight. Decided to put the halogens back and use the same on my bike. The Auxbeam Products are superb.
Hey Sarah.. Always enjoy watching your videos. I'm a fan now ! Love to look of you FXT. I own a 14 FXT white Limited. I also changed my DRL high beams to LED's to match. My original fogs are replaced with Morimoto fogs with yellow LaminX. Also bought a plug & play harnest to make my fogs as my DRL's. I like that look with the C lights turned on. Thanks for sharing your AWESOME videos. ( CANADA ) here ;-)
My light bulb just went out on my wrx. These are the same size ones , and I had been looking for some led ones. Thanks for the review Ima try these out!
Bright light ! Bright light ! Those look Awesome ! I want some for my car to match the white LED day time running lights I have. Thanks for the review. :)
Looks good and like your channel. One thing, With the extra bright DRL's, it's like you are driving with the Hi-beams on at all times. You should check that you aren't blinding the people in the oncoming lanes.
I found when messing with lights on my outback, Just take the front off the car! It's only like 22 clips and a much easier process to align the bulbs with everything out! I did the highs and the fog lights in place, when it came to the lows? Different story? The first result was FUBAR? Having the headlight out gave me the result I was looking for!
3000k also is the color spectrum that cuts through the fog the best! Unfortunately a lot of state laws prohibit running yellow headlights. You can have yellow/amber fog lights but not the actual headlamp. Ever notice how on most Lexus vehicles they are set up that way
Very good video , I don’t have any problem with the camera angles , I have the F-16 H7’s , they are amazing as my DRLs / High Beam . You may wish to try Opt-7 LEDs . Have a Happy New Year ! 🇨🇦
Your videos are pretty informative. Keep up the great work! I want to get some led bulbs. My halogen h7’s aren’t doing it anymore and they’re a pain to replace. I want to be able to see more at night since I do a some fun night driving.
Sarah I did the drl/high beam change and used the o rings from the oe bulb they fit perfectly otherwise it was too tight they are 9005 on my 07 Accord as well
Love the new look Sarah! But it DOES look like the new DRLs are acting like full time High Beams. Is there any difference in output from being on DRLs and flicking High Beam on? That may be okay for day time, but at night time I'd be cussing you out if I were your oncoming traffic :-D lol Keep up the good work! love the channel
Sarah- great videos. I installed these on my 2017 forester. I like them a lot. However, the high beams seem to run as daytime lights too. Have you experienced that?
G'day, Sarah! We're not interested in the instructions! (am only kidding!) Oh snapper doodles, just interested in seeing the neat replacement LED Fog & DRL/HighBeam Lights! Lol! But actually, I like the way the LED bulbs look. "Way brighter than stock. Also they look a little blue from the video, but they are probably very white in real life." Looks awesome... Nice DIY job! Cheers! :-)🚗👍🏼😊
LED replacements look great, but I've never found one that has a beam pattern and distance as good as a nice halogen or proper HID projector. And like has been stated, those LED DRL high beams will be way too bright for oncoming traffic even during the day. I got flashed a lot in bright daylight when I had some in my car. The stock halogens usually just run at half power when in DRL mode. I just used a relay to disable the highbeam DRL.
Snapper-Doodle !!!!! Love it lmaorotf ty for that laugh , and love the vids keep up the great vids , p.s. Great job on forester!!! Have a great new year
3:52 you are the driver at night people hate ! look at how the LED shoots out in all directions and unfocused (the oxidation on the headlight confirms this). You'll either have to change the entire housing to contain the beam or get LED for your specific vehicle parameters.
I believe by switching to LEDs on your high beams/DRLs you are essentially driving with your high beam all the time, as the LED doesn't care if the voltage is lowered (in DRL mode) or regular (high beam mode). I can see a separate circuit box on your LED high beam kit that takes care of this voltage difference. I might be wrong, though.
Wojtek Jakóbczyk this external box can be led driver - current source. Better to check, if it switch between hi and low, because (from the point of microelectronics) it's not hard to control current to led with different input voltage.
While you are correct the high beams will essentially be on, that's only during the day time when it doesn't matter and won't be blinding people. The DRLs turn off at night so they will only be on when the high beams are turned on.
Well, the only scenario is when Sarah drives on low beam, the DRLs turn off then. But all day long she's going to drive with full high-beam power instead of low-power DRLs and it can blind oncoming drivers even in full daylight, it's just plain dangerous for them.
The lights on the inside that she calls DRLs are actually the high beam bulb area. The reflector has no shrouding so the light goes everywhere. The LED's dont car the that DRL mode has reduced voltage so are producing full brightness. This means she has high beams effectively on all the time.
There are a lot of newer cars that use the high beams for the DRL. We use to have an 04 Bonneville and that is exactly what it did, its DRL was the high beams turned on.
So you just replaced your Daytime Running Lights ? which are your high beams, why not replace your low beams too ? or are those LED already ? They look great !
Another reason for yellowed (fog)lights, in this day and age: Amber, or yellow, lights cut the fog (or rain / snow) a lot better than a regular (white) light.
Looks good with the new lights. Would you consider replacing the indicator bulbs to chrome ones to remove the fried egg look? Managed to find some chrome push fit ones for my forester and they look good.
I just bought the iJDMtoy H11 LED 6000k for my 2016 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium w/Eyesight. Not gunna lie, I like the their color of light but only problem is that it’s 2500 lum lightning seem too bright on the front don’t wanna get in road hazard blind someone the road which that is not good at all. I might gunna return it get Auxbeam are better not blind someone on the road?
You do realize that the LED running/high beam lights are either “on or off” since they run on a wider range of voltage - unlike your halogen bulbs that seem dimmer than your high beams , because the voltage runs through a resistor dropping them to I believe 8volts instead of the normal 12-14 volts. So it’s kinda like driving around with your high beams on 🤣
Sarah, You cannot use those Leds as DRLs. The Subaru uses a resistor to lower the current to the halogen light to reduce its brightness. By putting LEDs in which require much less current, they are still getting 12 volts and are no different than running your car with its high beams on constantly. Try it yourself, flick your high beams on and then look at just the DRL, same blinding? Yeah, at night, your gonna be blinding people. Please fix. I just recently put full Aux Beams in my Legacy, the projector lows, 9005 high beams, and H11 fogs, all Auxbeam, they are great, but I had to do the mod to disable the DRL module.
Trix Kemuel, interesting thoughts, but I think, that led driver (ie current source) should be integrated into led bulb. Otherwise, driver should be external. Without led drivers - this is very bad led lights.
That is exactly what i mean. The subaru DRL module limits current to the DRL lights to lower their brightness. Since the LEDS with their internal drivers dont take as much current, the DRL modules current limit has no affect on the LEDs brightness. Which means they are running at full power, and the LEDs she installed are not a low brightness beam, they are a high beam meaning they are at full high beam brightness even on the DRL circuit.
I was thinking the same thing the whole time... if it’s anything like the older subies, you should be able to just disconnect the drl resistor cutting the circuit so only the LED strips down near 5he fogs stay on.
I scrolled through to see if anyone else posted this because it's exactly what I thought. On my 2013 Civic I just pulled a single fuse to eliminate my daytime running lights(I think it looks stupid, not concerned about the "safety" of it). I could tell right away what you mentioned was happening. Definitely kill the DRL if you want to continue to use LED high beams..otherwise just switch back to a halogen bulb. I actually even prefer the yellow halogen and disconnected DRL as it just gives the light cavity that yellow look all the time from the reflection of the yellow bulb. Anyway, cheers good luck.
I'd totally be down replacing the vertical LED strip they got in there with a vertical strip that looks more like a line, than a row of separate lights...know what I mean? Great vids btw keep it up 👍
Thanks, I am considering leds for my old Honda. I also liked the lemon yellow from the foglights. One request, please turn on an interior light when shooting in the dark. It made you look kind of creepy.
Sarah i have to say you are a breath of fresh air. Your honest straightforward and a real hoot to watch and listen to. Also i want to thank you for your service in the USAF. They look wayy better.Iv just done my Forester with some Auxittos and Omg what a difference wish i did them back in 2013.
This video was enlightening. Thanks for shining a spotlight on LEDs. You're a shining star Sarah. Thanks for brightening my day.
A few years late here, but I'm digging it! 🤙
Epic improvement! Definitely considering these bulbs now! And I agree! LOVING the way the fogs look with the LEDs!
Loving the look of these bulbs.

Neat history lesson.
Those seem to be great bulbs👍
Found your channel a few days ago and love it! Binged watched last couple days as I’ve had the flu and been in bed.
Tim Bulkley feel better soon! It hit me 2 weeks ago.
As always entertaining. I prefer the same coloured light all round. the Yellow lense is funky. But everyone has there favorite setup.
I chuckled to myself cuz Sarah notices packaging and it's her channel.
The packaging is worthy of Waterford Crystal. I like LED lights but they are still pretty pricey. Fact is, a set of LED headlights are worth more than my car. Always enjoy your videos!!

I have auxbeam headlamp bulbs in the headlights as well as auxbeam led pods as fog lights on my 2015 kia soul, I love them.
Wow... I'm actually interested in these now for my Jeep. Thanks for the legit review!
Oh and your XT looks gorgeous!! Yes!! the new HIDs/LEDs looks Badass!! 😍
Very cool. I changed out both of my a few months back. Auxbeam bulbs. I love mine. By the way love your channel.
My light bulb just went out on my wrx. These are the same size ones , and I had been looking for some led ones. Thanks for the review Ima try these out!
3 years later better then never just put these in my 14xt yeeee!
Bright light ! Bright light ! Those look Awesome ! I want some for my car to match the white LED day time running lights I have. Thanks for the review. :)
Dear Sarah, those LED lights shine and shine a lot, but no more than your eyes.
good video
happy New Year
Hugs
Wow great upgrade and I was honestly surprised at how inexpensive they are.
Good one.
Nice review and instructions on the install. Keep up the great work. Your videos are top notch!

3000k also is the color spectrum that cuts through the fog the best! Unfortunately a lot of state laws prohibit running yellow headlights. You can have yellow/amber fog lights but not the actual headlamp. Ever notice how on most Lexus vehicles they are set up that way
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT !!!
fired up to change mine and also fit up a compatitble set of daytime lights for a 2013 xt forester
You the most Beaty fix my car !!
Great video, thanks. If you really want to have fun, go change fog bulbs on your roomies Focus ST... tons of fun!
Snapperdoodles! Finally you got rid of the yellow, at least up top... I hate yellow lights on cars. The Lime though is not bad.
Great Video! I’ve been looking for after market bulbs, definitely gonna check these out, love the colors!
Now those are some great looking headlights.
Very good video , I don’t have any problem with the camera angles , I have the F-16 H7’s , they are amazing as my DRLs / High Beam . You may wish to try Opt-7 LEDs . Have a Happy New Year ! 🇨🇦

Love the lemon color yellow of the fog lights. And yep, the bruises happen to me too 😒!
Sarah I did the drl/high beam change and used the o rings from the oe bulb they fit perfectly otherwise it was too tight they are 9005 on my 07 Accord as well

I love sarahs headlights, especially on high beam!! Lmao
Nifty bit of trivia on the yellow lights, very cool. That said, I'm not crazy about the yellow laminate. I'd go all white with a white car.
30k subscribers congratulations!
I think you mean 40K! Go Sarah!!
Nice DIY job!

nice headlights! :) gonna be picking up some of these for my OBS project. thanks!
Snapper-Doodle !!!!! Love it lmaorotf ty for that laugh , and love the vids keep up the great vids , p.s. Great job on forester!!! Have a great new year
Sarah the awkwardness will never leave (your tools for this install) lol, 😂 great video my friend those things are bright not gna lie lol
Beach towel on the ground 😂 that’s why I love ur videos lol!!! Ur funny Sarah
LED all the way, LIKE!
Lol my friend also get bruises on her arm from working on cars. She literally made a shirt that says "I work on cars! My boyfriend doesn't beat me!"
GTR Wendy I actually got the one on my left arm from having blood drawn.
Sarah -n- Tuned yeah that happens to me too because they always miss or rupture the vein 😭
Now he can beat her with no repercussions ... lel
Damn these days a shirt like that is needed. It's almost illegal to be a male now a days.
😆😆😆😜
The worst is crawling around under the dash... My legs and back... so many colors...
It looks dopeeeee
I think it looks AWESOME. How is the illumination at like 50-100ft ahead?
3:52 you are the driver at night people hate ! look at how the LED shoots out in all directions and unfocused (the oxidation on the headlight confirms this). You'll either have to change the entire housing to contain the beam or get LED for your specific vehicle parameters.

There are a lot of newer cars that use the high beams for the DRL. We use to have an 04 Bonneville and that is exactly what it did, its DRL was the high beams turned on.
i installed auxbeam on my 2000 crv a year ago and still going strong
Looking good nowww !!! .. thats a sweet lights
So you just replaced your Daytime Running Lights ? which are your high beams, why not replace your low beams too ? or are those LED already ? They look great !
HarleyPatriot USN I talk about it in the video.
Which do you prefer and why? The yellow or white DRL/high beam?
In this episode of Sarah-n-Tuned; Calvin, kelvins twin brother makes an appearance and dazzles us with lights. :3
Damn those lights look good AF!
If they, the running lights, are a pain to get in, will they come out with an equal amount of effort??
Your awesome! I really like the new look!
That is a really nice shirt. Good job on the video as always.
Thanks for the review, will get mine auxbeam next time. You should learn retrofitting your headlight, got it done on my audi at local retrofitter.
You do realize that the LED running/high beam lights are either “on or off” since they run on a wider range of voltage - unlike your halogen bulbs that seem dimmer than your high beams , because the voltage runs through a resistor dropping them to I believe 8volts instead of the normal 12-14 volts. So it’s kinda like driving around with your high beams on 🤣
That's fucked up... Is there any led that works for drl and high beams?
Trix Kemuel why would you be driving towards on-coming cars with your high beams on, lol.
Happy new year for everyone ... for the honda man too 😅😅😅
you really got a nice-looking forester!
I'd totally be down replacing the vertical LED strip they got in there with a vertical strip that looks more like a line, than a row of separate lights...know what I mean?
Great vids btw keep it up 👍
no clickbait title .decent video.
They look amazing 👍👍
The Forester looks like it got resurrected and it ain't even Easter 😆
Are your front bumper lights (vertical) stock or aftermarket? I likes! If aftermarket where did u buy them?
Thanks, I am considering leds for my old Honda. I also liked the lemon yellow from the foglights. One request, please turn on an interior light when shooting in the dark. It made you look kind of creepy.
The LED fogs look green... Just got some 2700k LED fogs for my Legacy
Arent those Projector housings? Looks like it has HID's from factory...or at least could support it with stock housing.
