47% of OpenStack clouds run on Ubuntu - this is why

According to the OpenStack User Survey 2023, Ubuntu Server continues to be the most popular operating system for OpenStack deployments, powering 47% of all environments. Ubuntu is fully open-source, runs with no friction on a variety of hardware and silicon, and can be used free of charge. But are there any other reasons why OpenStack users choose Ubuntu? During this session led by the publishers of Ubuntu, we will present Canonical’s view on Ubuntu adoption in the OpenInfra community. We will highlight the benefits of using the Ubuntu operating system in OpenStack environments based on user stories, surveys and case studies and try to find out why the adoption of Ubuntu is constantly increasing.
