Yea this video was incorrect. The percentage’s were way in favor of one character over the other. Like back the day (2012) Kenny and Larry would’ve been like 87% Kenny 12% Larry.

I knew the saving Carly was a lot higher
ye but ngl carly did not make a great introduction to herself. plus she had a gun with her and a zombie grabbed her leg. in a realistic scenario she had a much higher chance of survival than doug. Also doug had a good intro to lee

What I gathered from here
- People gathered more empathy over the years I guess when it came to Duck as a character and how Duck is literally just a kid who doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation yet and not intentionally being annoying
- Save Doug Movement SWEEEEEEP
People also got more used to "not usual" people in various forms of media. Duck seems kind of like ADHD kid, Kenny said that he is dumb but it might be just that he is special needs and mentally grows up slower than others. It's especially in contrast with Clementine who is really smart as a kid, she obviously still acts like one, plays with chalk, gets afraid easily etc., but she is generally more aware and perceptive than Duck who is technically older than her.
Doug is cool and all, but Carly somehow going lower than Doug is insane to me, she was one of the best characters in season 1 and it makes Lilly an even better villian later on
look at 2012 tons of people saved her. She got lower because of the save Doug movement lmao. Best part is it's still ongoing. I saved Doug myself since I already know what having Carly is like.
If the "Save Doug" movement didn't exist, Carley's percentage would probably be above 80% by now, cause she's the clear best choice
No she's not. All she can do is shoot and look pretty, whereas doug has intelligence and can craft

Technically no. I saved her in order to see if we can save her if we know what happened. That was my biggest disappointment with those Teltale Games, your choices don't matter unless the game tells you so. Plus at the end, she dies randomly, like it is out of nowhere. Where Doug try to save a young man at least.
@@AbuYousfi last time I checked, Doug and Carley die the same way. Save one, and then in the 3rd episode the saved one ends up dying, trying to stick up for Ben. Sounds pretty sexist.

Let’s be honest, we all saved Carley the first time around because we shipped her with Lee. After we realized she dies anyways, we saved Doug the next playthrough 😂

I remember when this game came out I was in 8th grade and I absolutely loved it. I remember buying Microsoft points and and waiting for the next episode to come out in anticipation. Back when gaming was good

*The only positives Carley has is:*
-telling lee to come clean about his past, but that doesn't matter since they won't kick you out anyway or kill
-the obvious reason people picked her is romance, which may I remind you it's the zombie apocalypse so there's no time to be all lovey dovey, you also won't get bang her :(
-yes she's good with a gun but so is Lee, Kenny, Lilly and soon Clem
I think a lot of 51% of people realised how good and useful Doug so the majority decided to save Doug instead
@@jaredwalker3960 Everytime i watched someone's gameplay i've never seen them save Doug and in my playthroughs i never saved him either, the biggest reason being that Lee can't come clean about his past.
So i was wondering, is choosing him over Carley a big difference? Like when it comes to dialogues and their purposes, or is it kind of on the same level? I'm thinking of saving Doug next time i play but i dunno, i like Carley more, but i'm too lazy to watch a whole playthrough with Doug, would rather play it myself.
@@havidikevidi I've read that Lee decides to tell others about prison only after Carley dialogue in Ep3 (because she was a reporter and knew about his past). And with Doug there is no such dialogue, which leads to other reactions when Lilly calls Lee murderer.
Also Doug is quite\shy guy, so he nearly never joins Lilly vs Kenny fights like Carley.
The theme music makes me cry as soon as I hear it, It just brings me back to that Era in life and How Powerful the game was
Siding with Doug makes the story have so much more dramatic weight, and turns Lily into a somewhat likeable Character who pulled a gun for a good reason instead of just pure paranoia. Doug deserved better, and Doug deserved to be saved.
When they move like that it’s funny
I don’t think people realize how fun Doug was after you save him once you save him and play the story with him. You’ll see what I mean. He’s really fun and cool.

Walking away without giving the gun was such a non option for so long I eventually caved just to see what would happen
The new statistics are pretty much meaningless. A good portion of people just wanted to try different things on their second playthrough or made decisions with hindsight.
If i recall i never trusted the percentage for the fact people can replay the scene ans make new choices which does effect the percentage.
Anybody who said they sided with Larry still gets punched hard by Larry and left to die by Larry.

Shawn, even on my first time playing I knew Kenny or Katjaa would get Duck while I get Shawn.

Give Irene the gun?
Yes. I’ve seen the show and comics before I played the game so I knew it was best to just let her put herself out of her misery. Though I do not condone suicide, the walking dead and how the Wildfire Virus works is another story.
Save Carly or Doug?
Carly, mostly because I liked her character better. And she does have a gun, so she is the better partner if I need help against walkers or other people.
People becoming better persons over the years
The last one is interesting to me- when I first played I saved Carly, but when i played the second time i realised I prefered Doug-
It's interesting how in 2012 it was 75% of people going for Carly
And in 2024 its almost 50 50
I wish the game only tracked first time play throughs. Decision stats would be much more accurate

When you become an adult you realize that Doug was the right choice. Carly couldn’t even fix a radio. She was nice yeah. But make was the only one with a gun plus she’s a woman. Is why most people picked her
Doug was not only smart, but built a defense warning system with strings in episode 2 to know how far enemy’s were from the camp sight. And if it wasn’t for him Larry would have died since he wouldn’t have been able to get the key to the medicine area since Doug had to remember the remote password to gain function to the tvs across the street in order to draw away the zombies.
The whole Carly and Lee thing doesn’t matter. Since this is purely based on usefulness. By episode 2 plenty of people have guns. And Lilly proved to also be a good shot so the defense of Carly being a good shot doesn’t matter all too much

Why would you give her the gun? She is in her last moments and is acting erratically. You never know what people might do in their last moments, especially her knowing that she’s gonna die either way. So what would stop her from shooting them and shooting herself.

People sided with Larry cuz they knew how zombie bites worked and it REALLY looked like Duck had gotten bit. Of course, by 2024, people knew that he wasn't due to TH-cam videos and replaying the game so, they chose to side with Kenny.
Just to clear some stuff up mainly why anyone would've sided with larry, they may have accidentally misclicked or genuinely thought duck was bitten not to mention most people that play the game dont watch the show so know little to nothing about the game or its infection. I also think that they may have just done it cause they like choas, not to mention that they may have just done a 2nd playthrough just to see all the outcomes for themselves. (Im not a creator of the TWD game or have anything to do with psychological therapy, this just what I think)

Because unlike Carley Doug was actually in trouble, she could have easily escaped but chose to stand there and panic with a loaded gun. Even if you want to make the excuse that she has a gun and you should save it, by ep2 they already seem to have found plenty and on top of that Doug builds an alarm system. He is tech smart so that’s already a million times more useful than some reporter, he even gives up his share of rations for someone else. Overall, even if he don’t got “chemistry” or whatever in a survival sense (which is the only sense that matters here) he is the best choice.
