Most predictable loss of the year. But I was numb this time. The Phillies 8th inning was practically a foregone conclusion. This team has wasted so much quality starting pitching it is utterly soul-crushing, criminal even in the eyes of the baseball gods. The games this team has blown since last September and really since last May are just unconscionable. Ghastly. Abominable. Blasphemous to the sport. Psychological torture beyond the pale. This team is subconsciously broken. Because of course Amaya missed a ball. Of course they immediately get a sac fly and a base hit to right field. I literally called the pitch, base hit, and direction of the hit before the pitch was thrown. They are perhaps the least enjoyable, most frustrating team the Cubs have fielded in decades.

You're looking at a team that should have won the world series at least once in the last 2 seasons and could have potentially won 2 straight if things didn't go the way they did. And now it's year 3 and they're right where they want to be again, they just need to keep the foot on the gas, stay healthy, and buckle down come October and they can do it. Stinks not getting one the past 2 years because we could really be pushing a dynasty, but it will be interesting to see what they do this year and going forward 💪🏽
