Serene, beautiful. I love the apparent simplicity, but this is very sophisticated design, with a careful and thoughtful balance of elements: Earth, Air, Water, Fire. The hotel honors Tradition, but expresses it in a modern vocabulary. I wish you had spent some time on the display of Raku tea bowls. One of my treasures is a cup thrown by Shoji Hamada, and I love the endless variety of that genre. Thank you for the video, and I am especially thankful for no narration! The music was "modern" but that's OK. Best wishes.

Thank you sir for all of your work capturing the essence of this hotel. Your talent still does nothing that makes this over priced hotel worthy of anyone spending their money there. It is cold, bleak and parts of the hotel have the warmth a Soviet ear government building in the eastern block. This is the nicest Aman resort I have seen but it still barely above their garbage in the Maldives. I think I counted 5 plants and I am not sure any were real. A hotel should be a home away from home. It should show the history of the hotel and the city yet this place is stark and barren. Even your talent can't save this place, but please don't allow my opinions on any of your talent and hard work. I appreciate all of your work and time given to share with us.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment! 😊 I appreciate you taking the time to watch and share your perspective. Hotels can definitely evoke different feelings for different people, and I always enjoy capturing the experience as it is. In this case, the hotel is located in the heart of bustling Tokyo, which influences its design and atmosphere.

You may just not like the theme of Aman hotels. Like fine dining restaurants, hotels at this level have themes. Aman’s theme is a grand take on Japanese hospitality. I believe the grandeur is what makes you feel like this theme is cold, they’ve purposefully designed a space that feels grand and therefore empty.
If you’re looking for something more intimate as a “home away from home” would be then Aman is definitely not going to be your cup of tea. Most hotels at this price range with themes wouldn’t be your cup of tea as their price prices out the mass amount of people who would fill these spaces, which is by design.
Many popular hotel brands have what I believe you’re looking for though, even if it isn’t their main brand.

great views, but would have been better without the music. A bit too overbearing
