Just saw your video. Glad you got to experience my Beautiful hometown! My father worked as a grinder at Lodge and loved it. His job was to grind the rough edges of the skillets, pots and pans before sending them on down the assembly line. He loved his co-workers, and his boss Company owner Henry Lodge, and CEO Bob Kellerman. Every so often the plant will have a company picnic and the families of the workers are invited to explore the plant, hobnob with the workers and owners and enjoy some great food from vendors, all cooked on or in Lodge cast iron. The best cornbread in the world is cooked on a Lodge cast iron skillet lol. Hope you enjoyed your visit!
My wife. and I are blessed by these adventures. It was educational learning about all the different types of cornbread. The CornBread festival should have had you judge the competition like on Iron Chef.
We loved the Cornbread Festival. All the money at Cornbread Alley goes to the Non-Profits that are making the cornbread. At the end of Cornbread Alley you can vote on the best cornbread. Sweet Georgia Peach cornbread ending up winning. Great video!
That was amazing behind scenes tour and cornbread looked so good ty sharing sledgehammered that like button stay safe awesome and blessed enjoyed and shared
I haven't heard of that festival. It looks like fun. I love cornbread but can't do spicey. Interesting to see all the different kinds. Tour of the factory was neat too. Thank you.
Enjoyed seeing this, I used to live in Jasper TN and would volunteer to help our church and bank with their booths during the Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburgh, TN. Great memories!
My mother in law just lives on down in Bridgeport Al from there. She buys her groceries in South Pittsburg and her drs r there. I've been once and it was very hot that day. Several of us wrote motorcycles there that day. Enjoyed the video. I will have to show her. Thanks for the trip yall!!
You can count on Dawn to be honest about tasting! I knew she wasn't going to like the chocolate chip cornbread!!! Love it!! I love cornbread! But, I've lived in the South all my life. I love the hush puppies and Mexican cornbread. The closest I've ever gotten to dessert cornbread is lots of butter and molasses!! I think the chicken and dumplings would be good. Thanks for this awesome viseo!! I would like to go to that next year!! I have a big Lodge skillet that I've used for years for cornbread!! Love the cast iron.
I love my little 1939Farmall Model A orginal. PLUSS I got a 1940 or 41 Farmall Model A that I customized me a 3 point hitch on it. I use an old Ford truck powersteering pump to run my hydraulic pump works perfectly. Momma makes corn bread every evening in a wagner skillet . It goes great with my churned butter and buttermilk made from an old jersey cow. In my opinion, they have some rich milk compared to a Holstein cow
Really cool. I never heard of most of those cornbread. I had a lady give me a 30 gallon cast iron kettle. Did a little research and discovered it was made in the early 1800's. I love cast iron.
My 1st Cornbread Festival. Sure looked like fun! The samples looked delicious. I liked the tour of the Lodge. I liked all those designs on the bottoms of the skillets too! This was neat!
Loved this video. The factory tour was fascinating. Such a great festival in celebration of Cornbread. Its not something we generally eat here in the UK but I always have some when in the USA. Cheers

Just went to a favorite local BBQ joint this week with the family. BBQ was awesome, as usual, but the cornbread was dry as sawdust!! Cornbread is the unsung side order that should be made the star. I love good cornbread, so the festival looks like something my wife and I would love!

Funny story about that Hammer’s, which we use to love going into…..My aunt use to live in Scottsboro, AL…where Unclaimed Baggage is….Not far from Pittsburgh Tn….after visiting her, we stopped at this Hammers….my husband was walking around while I was shopping….he walked up to a lady who had her back turned he thought it was me and without looking he patted on her butt and if she was through shopping….😂😂😂😂😂…….he just about died from embarrassment….so, this Hammers will always be in our memory…..😂😂😂

You guys were just 25 miles from my house! I know several people who work at the foundry. I'm with Dawn....I don't like black eyed peas in anything! lol! 🤮 We went to the festival one year and got to watch the local celebrity's cornbread cook-off competition (none of them really knew how to make cornbread....lol!) As for me....I'm just a plain old southern savory (no sugar) cornbread kind of person.....hot and buttered! 👍

@@yankeeinthesouth you're welcome!
I can instantly tell whether or not something is good by watching Dawn's reaction. With Dawn you have created "taste-a-vision"
