Two assymetric games on the same month (Chaos Order), this one with expensive shipping :(. Backing it, though, it's one of those true assymetric games I love (different win conditions, different powers, different ways of earning points). Put an Illuminati/Shadow government expansion in it!
Same. I backed, but of all my friends I’m the one most interested in nation building/4x type games. I also backed Stellaris, but only the board game gods know if I’ll ever convince someone to play it with me.
Backed this before watching this video and this only made me way more excited for it. It’s big enough as-is but I feel like a good expansion option would be to have a “Church” player. Talk about another level of sociopolitical complexity! It will be very difficult to make my group sit down for this but I guarantee they will all love it hahaha.
“The middle class effectively doesn’t exist.” -out of context Rahdo quote. Thanks for covering this game! I might back especially now that they’ve announced the automa options.
Finally! The kickstarter arrived!!! Question: At 1:16:52, the klingon subtitles say a purple worker should also have been added. Isn't that purple worker for the middle class only?
This was a long time ago, I don't remember the rules at this point, so if you can point me to the rules where it says that the skilled worker on the card shouldn't arrive during the Immigration step let me know so I can check and correct the subtitle. Cheers
What I really hate about watching Raldo's previews is I almost definitely will find myself scratching my skins to want to play the game and nowhere to buy a copy. suffer!
Your setup explanation highlighted one of my concerns with this game straight away, that the default economic environment would be skewed toward reflecting contemporary America. Given that one of the main aims of the game is as an educational resource are other starting conditions possible? Eg. Could you begin the game from a more left-wing or a more right-wing status quo and it still be playable? Or am I missing the point?
Looks like a great game. Can't wait to pick it up. hope to play the capitalists and put the lazy masses to work and reward the employees that do a good job and make a difference in society..
yup, cap player counts # of middle class workforce they're employing and pay MC player, and counts working class workers and pays wages for them to WC player. and middleclass player also has to pay working class workers, but not middle class workers
Rule book states 'pays the listed Wages for each Company to the player who controls the Workers there.' So I believe its per company not per worker. Wages never have split ownership either as Capital companies can't have a mix of working and middle class meeple on them.
"in this modern unnamed capitalist centered country" come on now, we all know this is just a look into America as we know it lol we are living this nightmare in real life
@@rahdo that’s my worry, it take on a more American centric view than what I would prefer a European view. But best option to be either. As someone who has lived in Europe Rahdo I sure you have an different opinion on socialism to most American media.
@@KSweeney36 i would say the game makes a very strong argument in favor of socialist agenda :) (but then i would say that, since it's what i prefer. i suspect neo-liberals might think the game makes a strong case for their preferred world view)
This looks like a great game that I’ll never convince my group to play.
Not going to stop me from backing, though.
Same problem here. I wonder if there will be a solo version with automa or something.
I think my son would really like this, but not sure I would…..

This game looks SO COOL! Excellent runthrough Rahdo, and btw excellent camera setup.

As an sociologist, i would LOVE to play this
Camera setup in this video is great. Well done sir! 👍🏻
Finally I can live out my fantasy of powerful trade unions and actual change happening!
Actually having agency in improving things....such an attractive fantasy.
This looks so good, first game I'll back in a long time!
Wow! I am really liking everything about this game!!
Love the green screen set up. It really helps with the explanation.
At 104:35 , should the payroll tax have gone to the state coffers instead of the 'bank'?
The Klingon Subtitles correct the error already.
My favorite quote “now that these workers have turn coated and gone for better wages” big government comments about workers going to private sector
I have backed it!

interesting idea. i guess it might throw the balance off for one faction or another, but that's probably best asked of the developers :)

42:34 So where are the Free Trade Zones in this game?
43:15 Ok, got it...
I realny enjoyed the review, however I am really sad that you didn’t show walkouts and trade unions
yup, i was trying to push in that direction, but i think i would have needed another round or so... :(
Should wages be paid per worker? Seems like you would need to if a company had both middle- and working-class workers, but unclear to me in the rules
yup, cap player counts # of middle class workforce they're employing and pay MC player, and counts working class workers and pays wages for them to WC player. and middleclass player also has to pay working class workers, but not middle class workers
In that case you should have been paid twice as much! You only paid wages once per company
@@theSolemnBard i think you would devide the amouint paid if its a split. Else capatalists will go bankrupt turn one pretty much always

13:28 “Hail Mary”, to me, is a religious reference. What are you talking about?
it's a sports reference: www.sports-king.com/dictionary.php?q=hail-mary

actually it doesn't quite feel like America to me because in this game the working class will actually vote in their own best interest :)
