Descript’s New Editor Layout (what is Underlord??)

- Descript finally has a new editor layout! Descript always is always updating but this time it’s a pretty big deal because the new editor in Descript looks a lot different. Almost all of the editing tools you’re used to using are in a sidebar, and there’s a whole new feature Descript calls “Underlord” which is where the AI functions are housed. It’s pretty neat!

AWESOME! And I'd love an in-depth tutorial on the new Descript. I'm still on the fence about whether it's the right choice for me... so many of the pay-to-play video editing platforms I've used made big promises and none of them have delivered.

I've been recording in Quicktime, and then editing in both Descript and Capcut. I need to streamline. I'd like to do it all in Descript, but I find Descript to be a bit buggy and sometimes things just don't work. Also some of the features aren't available on my current plan. Do you only use Descript for editing? And what did you use to create your "commercial"?
Same! I record in quick time, then Descript and then iMovie! I’m looking to streamline my process as well!
@@RoxiieSays I’ve been thinking of transitioning to using iMovie too but really need to find one solution. Which one thing could do it all. Or maybe it can? I just don’t know how.
That side bar looks a little like the Canva one. Which just switched to the right in their glow up. Would be awesome if the two merged in some way

@@meredithmarsh oooh nice. Canva definitely need to merge with some video editing, as I don’t think they are progressing enough with video to keep up.

I've already been able to speed up a few of my processes (hint, hint, teleprompter), but I'd love to learn more. Thanks so much Meredith for sharing your journey!
@Meredith Do you start and stop or are u a one-take-wonder? Recording videos is only one step in a long process. Editing videos halts the video content creation process for me.
