    Lindy Hop is more than just moves -- it's a vibrant dance full of history and culture. In this video, we'll go over three of the basic six count moves seen frequently in some of the most iconic vintage videos -- tuck turn, side pass / pass by, and the six count circle -- as well as a basic variation.
    00:00 - Welcome to Lindy from the Ground Up

    I've seen that six count circle with a break everywhere in performances but I could never figure it out-I always assumed it was 8 count footwork. Thank you so much

    Thank you brooks for not skipping out on triple steps. I find that many leaders don’t do triples but expect their followers to do them.

    Every summer, a local jazz band plays in the park and they host swing dance parties every weekend. I can't wait to use this stuff there!
    (I also love your shirt and want to know where you sourced it).

    Great video! A dumb question: it seems that you tuck turn at the second triple step in the 6 count while you turn on the first triple step in a side pass. Is that a strict thing?

    Is 6 count basic or 8 count?
    Can you switch from 6 count to 8 count and vise versa?
    Is a swing out in 6 count possible?

    • @LauraGlaess
      @LauraGlaess  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both 6 and 8 are basic.
      Switching between is possible and happens constantly.
      The swingout is possible in 6 but is done infrequently.

      @@LauraGlaessgreat video. Simple, efficient, which gives the mood of standing up and dancing ! I want to watch all your videos ! Merci, bravo. Just one question please : what is « swing out » ?

  • @geekonomist
    @geekonomist 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    None of swing is in 6 counts. Why use a six count for dancing?
