This country is so messed up if you don't think Johnny ain't a good singer..... Johnny deserves to be in the country music hall of Fame.... Give me a hell yeah
Johnnys first two albums were high points in my teenage years , I absolutely loved those two albums and played them so much I had to buy two more because they were worn out.
Always loved Johnny Rodriguez songs and him, really wish he was still making records. He should have been a lot bigger star than some of these people we have these days, they all sound alike.Johnny, I was and still am one of your biggest fans,Love your voice.
fell in love with Johnny when I first heard him in the 70,s. Got to see him here in Ohio in the early 90,s. A birthday gift from my late husband. i was so excited. Best gift ever. wish he would come to Ohio again.
Going to see him this weekend Apr. 12, 2014 in Ft. Worth, TX. This will be the first time I've seen him since 1976! He played a Sheriff's Posse Rodeo concert here in Austin, TX. back then. I was heartbroken when I didn't get an autograph...this time I will...and a photo!!! :) Love Johnny Rodriguez!
Johnny Rodrigues was THE FIRST person I ever saw in concert, he came to the Mid South Coliseum in Memphis I think it was 1972??? My mother was head over heels about him...so glad to see he is still out there and doing well.
Can't help but notice little Jimmy Dickens left hand finger gestures & here I always thought of him as a sweet little old man. I guess, it just goes to show there is the performer & the real person. But, never the less Johnny will always be one of the greatest country singer ever that never received his due. Love you! Johnny.
So many in that group have now gone. Jim Ed. Jan H. Lynn A. and Little Jimmy D. As I sit with Johnny right now during this virus as we right his life's story, we're being cautious. His dates have all been canceled. BTW the book will be out in late May.
Me too!!! I'm going to see him again for the first time since 1976, this Saturday! LOL, that's a long time to get to see someone I was totally infatuated with as a small girl...can't wait!!!
I heard Johnny tell the story many yrs ago that Lefty and Whitey Shaefer wrote it for him. He recorded it in the mid 70's and Merle did many years later in the late 80"s .......
The voice is there but that man is not well. I'm implying nothing other than I know a sick person when I see one. But what a great artist. What he could have been. Still, his talent never forsake him.
Something is incredibly wrong in this world when a singer like Johnny is not in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

I'm just here to say Johnny Rodriguez IS GREAT!

Johnny, you have been ignored for years which is a shame. Your music is great, love your voice, and you've had some great songs.

THAT IS WHAT TRUE COUNTRY SOUNDS LIKE, GRAND RENDITION ❤❤❤❤
He still has "it"....wonderful...fantastic...chills
the talent in that room and all these videos will never be seen again, that's the way life goes.
So underrated. The amount of faces in these videos that are now gone is really sad.

CAROLVS more like addicted
Johnny is getting a lot older & he did do some hard living like many performers did back in their days to promote their songs.
I will say only this he is getting older. From what I know he did live a hard life. However the man is still a legend.
