@Justin Ours both average rappers hopsin has an edge, but both ok. I listen to rappers like Inspecktah deck, black thought, Vinnie paz, big pun, and lupe fiasco some of the best rappers to ever do it.
I love it when Hivemind talks about the best rap lyrics of all time! My favorite lyrics are the ones by the voices in my head. They all sound like Dignan. help.
@@cathy4697I feel like at this point that shouldn't matter. It's like if someone like Riley and Graydon asked who Iron Man is, you don't have to have watched a movie to know who either of those are
Hive mind has really done a lot to help me get over my breakup. I couldn’t listen to music or stand facial hair for a while because my ex started dating a musician with a great mustache and a 5.87” penis. So watching Riley has been like exposure therapy for me
This video was alright, but when Dignan started rapping about how he hunted and taxidermied a wildebeest so he could sneak it into different Chipotle bathrooms to scare the workers, it really put me off my breakfast.
I think my favorite rap lyric of all time has to be when Dignan told me "Tell anybody about that September night in '02 and I'll come for your firstborn". It's more of a complex one-liner that most people wouldn't understand, including the Detroit Police Department when I told them about it. Either that or Childish Gambino's "An elephant never forgets, so my dick remembers everything". Hard to choose!
One of my favorite bars has to be drake on pound cake: “My classmates, they went on to be chartered accountants Or work with their parents, but thinkin' back on how they treated me My high school reunion might be worth an appearance Make everybody have to go through security clearance” Shits tough
New hivemind video this is just great. The hat man was under my bed last night and I was too horrified to do anything about it. I love the way that they bounce jokes off each other such a great friendship.
Something that needs to be remembered is the remix of THat Part by Schoolboy q. The kendrcik verse is so good and jay rock's bar "So we thuggin' like DMX, bleed shit, PMS Point blank, period, meet me on the ES I'm fully with the BS, believe that!" is so fucking amazing.

Oh shit! Like the rap artist Vic Mensa? The rapper, I think his name is Vic Mensa? Like Vic Mensa, the guy who raps and does rap songs while rapping Vic Mensa?
This is a song from a very obscure artist but the line has stuck with me for years. “Never need that catch up, I just relish in this hindsight”. The ketchup/relish is pretty obvious, but they snuck in a triple entendre with hindsight (Heinz). The song is 3ohios by Marcus Ryan
I think one of the best ever, if not the best ever lines I’ve ever heard is “top cat chat, let’s begin another yarn” from Lupe Fiasco’s Mural. That DOOM line is also surreal.
how does business, man get an S in its rhythmic nursery rhyme fashion but then joey gets an A for the octuple quadeca entendre i’m the reason dignan isn’t in this hivemind video
joeys bar in sit n prey is a reference to immortal technique's freedom of speech, his first bar is "step in the club smoothly, with the L in my hand, b**ches know that im a freak, like the elephant man" so hard
Gotta love Mac's verse on BDE: ''So High i CANNOT SEE (sounds like na-zi) Adolf.'' It being both a reference to his day going so well that he forgets all the bad stuff that went on in the world and at the same time acknowledging that stuff like that did happen.
Going back to the babytron bar the part about the epi pen adds another entendre as the pops being because he implies he’s gonna shoot the opps and an epipen is a shot for severe allergic reactions
Good call on the super bee connection to the hemi line. I was about to be the "heni is in dodges, camaro is a chevy" but i didn't even consider that. I think bend in the context is just turning, taking a bend, going around the bend, etc.
For a second I was like When has supercalifragalisticexpialidocious EVER been used in a rap song Riley 🙄🙄🙄 And then he did the impression and I realised that yung gravy literally says it in one of his songs LMAO
The DOOM couplet might be the best bar ever just on its own merits, but becomes undeniably so when you add the context of the couplet that proceeds it - the full thing goes: “1 for the money, 2 for the better green / 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine / Told the knock-kneed ghetto queen to go and get the head fiend / Tell him it’s from Medellin, and use oxyacetylene” Let me also explain the meaning, since apparently there are tons of people who find it confusing. Which is actually really ironic, because I’ve always thought part of what makes these bars so brilliant is how easy to make sense of they are despite the dense multisyllabics - I admit, if there’s one thing I’ve learned in life it’s that I do not at all have a good feel for other people’s intuition or what information/concepts are actually common knowledge. But anyway, to the explanation: So obviously the first line is just using a twist on a common rhyme template as a set up for the second line, which is the scientific name for MDMA a.k.a. molly/ecstasy. The third and fourth line are, in a sense, sort of jumbled out of order (and I think maybe that’s part of why people have trouble with comprehension) - basically he’s telling the ‘knock-kneed ghetto queen’ (which is simply a vivid way to describe a girl who gets around, and is thus well connected in the neighborhood) to give a sample of drugs to the ‘head fiend’ (which would be like the local junkie with the most status/influence/reputation… relatively speaking of course) while also giving her the instruction to tell the head fiend that the drugs are ‘from Medellin’ (which is a place in Colombia known as like cocaine mecca, mainly because it’s where Pablo Escobar lived and operated) so essentially the implication is just that she should tell the head fiend that the drugs are super pure, high quality stuff (“fresh off the boat,” as the saying goes); and lastly, he then instructs her to ‘use oxyacetylene’ - a reference to oxyacetylene torches, which are used in industrial cutting applications; they can cut through virtually anything and are typically used to cut through dense metals - so the implication, then, is that she should heavily ‘cut’ the drugs (presumably with cheaper white powdery substances like corn starch, vitamin B12 powder, etc.). So to summarize, the general idea is mixing MDMA a.k.a. molly into one’s cocaine stash in order to increase the overall potency & duration of the high and thus be able to more heavily cut the drugs while still being able to sell them at prices typically reserved for drugs of higher purity.
I’m extremely late, but I just want to say that I extremely appreciate you explaining this all. I understood the 1,2,3,4 part, but not the 2 bars after that (which you’ve explained now). I already loved this section so much, but you made me love it even more. Thanks for the explanation. Man I love and miss MF DOOM. I seriously enjoy his “nerdy” bars. I think the babytron bar refers to the hood of a car with a supercharged hemi engine, which has a little bump (or "bend") on it to accommodate for the suoercharger on top of the engine underneath. And the fact that the hood of the car has a bend makes it look like its mid transformation
you missed a reference in the blp kosher bar, when he says "real files" hes referring to a criminal case file, the big file containing all of the details of a crime and the investigation. In saying "real files" he insinuates that he has actually committed crimes with these weapons, and that it isnt just talk
As the great poet Ab-Soul once said: "Stuck in traffic on the road less traveled, no fast track That's how life'll do you, I had to learn to backtrack Before I could move forward, like quadruple"
Epinephrine is a vasoconstrictor (constricts blood vessels) so yep, it would help with hemorrhage and is definitely used by doctors/surgeons/paramedics for such purposes.
For the Pusha bar also it could mean when he drops the black top off of the Ferrari he makes it “erase thing” when he says “a race thing.” Could be a stretch but that what I thought I heard on my first listen
That Vic Mensa Line is a lil deeper than you think, if you break down a relationship, his ex didn't have a voice in the situation. Not a mensa fan but i know a good bar when i see one
"We shape the stone, paint our pictures on the wall / hunt alone, plant in spring, learn to harvest in the fall / We choose a king, mine the metals for his forges to wage our wars / And all of Olympus is laughing / Until we go and split the atom." -Dessa, "The Grand Experiment"
it was on a fort minor song i forget which one "one mans trash is the next mans pleasure, one mans pains is the next mans pleasure, on say infinity the next say forever" and as simple as it is its always stuck with me
my favorite bar was when dignan said he had my grandfather tied up in his backyard and he will be slowly cutting off all of his extremities until I bring him $100,000 😂🔥

Could Blip be talking about pedophiles? Gun to large files, PDF, as in PeDoFiles? Might be totally off base but maybe
He is… these guys aren’t very clued into it lmao.
Riley is lucky Graydon was there to explain some of the bars on the back half. Some of those were confusing AF.
"We shape the stone, paint our pictures on the wall / hunt alone, plant in spring, learn to harvest in the fall / We choose a king, mine the metals for his forges to wage our wars / And all of Olympus is laughing / Until we go and split the atom." -Dessa, "The Grand Experiment"
it was on a fort minor song i forget which one "one mans trash is the next mans pleasure, one mans pains is the next mans pleasure, on say infinity the next say forever" and as simple as it is its always stuck with me
For blp koshers glock large attachment bar, the cases are referring to case files so those guns are involved in murders
“he a role player team on his team call him kcp, blowin russian creams drac’d up like the kgb.” is my all time favorite babytron bar
my favorite bar was when dignan said he had my grandfather tied up in his backyard and he will be slowly cutting off all of his extremities until I bring him $100,000 😂🔥
