I really liked this guy's tutorial on how to drive a car: Step 1: Choose your Lambo. Step 2: Reprogram the Engine Control Unit to increase horsepower and torque. Step 3: Clean with a gentle, pH-neutral car shampoo.

I went to play with a couple of bands who wanted me to play "their basslines" for their songs and EVERY TIME, it was a guitarist who wrote the Bassline and they wrote (and played) it the way a guitar would be played. They kept wanting me to play with a pick. UNACCEPTABLE!
I like this Davide Biale guy... you should invite him more. It's refreshing to hear his real self. Jokes aside It's hard to be yourself online but don't worry your real fans already know you and love you for who you are. And you're an inspiration for me as a fellow introvert, tall guy, and shy person. You helped me be myself more and accept myself and not see myself as an outcast who needs to be 'fixed'. So thank you I usually don't write these comments but you truly are an inspiration for me keep it up and never change :)
@@PiePlayzBASS nope the G string is slightly out of tune. You might not notice it but i have pitch perfect so i always notice the slightest imperfections. This one isn't that hard to hear tho. Just pay attention
@@PiePlayzBASS well if you do have perfect pitch how do you not hear the G string being out of tune? Even the D string is out of tune by maybe 1/16 of a tone so it's not as noticeable but it still doesn't sound perfect. You could try comparing Davie's G string to another G string sound and you'll see.
Hilarious and so slap on! Evidently the writer of the wiki tutorial learned things from this video and quickly updated the wiki-how when I checked it today April 4. Thanks. Looking forward to your tutorial. Will buy a bass soon partly because of you.
As a bassist and classical guitarist I have to say: First learn to play bass. Here is my reasoning: The things, that you need to learn on a bass in order to function in a band are the most important practices, that every musician on a bass/guitar-shaped instrument have to learn. Except Bass has thicker strings and you need better technique (and more strenght) to do it right. I am talking about fundamentals, that every good musician on those instruments need. Talking about strenght in the hand/finger. In order to warm up before playing guitar, I play some scales... but if I warm up before playing bass, I play some guitar first.
I wanted to play bass, my parents said, why not try guitar first? why? because we already had one in the house. later as a bass teacher I ran into this many times among my students. I hope it's not still a thing. you can buy a new bass online for $70 that's a very decent beginner's instrument. buy your kid a bass.
I've actually had this problem when it came to learning Bass. The teacher there played a lot of instruments and had a great sense in music theory, but he couldn't properly teach me advanced techniques like slap, tap, double thumb, etcetera. He applied as a teacher for bass because he knew how to play guitar well. It's nice to know guitar for music theory and such when teaching bass, but if you are going to teach it, actually know how to play it like a virtuouso. Don't apply because you know another instrument. It feels insulting. It's like if someone said they can teach the tuba cause they know how to play the trumpet. Learn it and respect it. Each instrument has their own techniques and fundamentals to learn.
After 2+ years playing bass, I decided to get a guitar to learn new things like muting when using a pick. I have had the guitar about a week but it is very different to playing a bass.
Long time watcher, love the content. I usually only try to have one bass for sale an one keeper… at the moment I have a fender jazz bass, squier active jaguar, vintage Hondo explorer h-880, vintage Peavey T-40 and some home made mariachi style fret less acoustic electric. I have even had to stop myself from buying more. The only reason I ever put guitar next to bass when I list them is just to expand my reach for looks at my post… even when I post a mic or drums I always put “ ( guitar bass studio band related) “ I always think it’s hilarious when I see a guitar bundled with a bass amp or someone puts “base guitar”
I chose a 2 string bass with a diatonic scale as well as a Focusrite sound card. I couldn’t find out where to install the bulky sound card so I just play through an amp. So far so good
@Davie504 my oldest and I joined a community concert band a few months ago back and they picked up a bass….. trombone! You can’t slap it but you get an amazing sound out of it!

At least there wasn't a fretboard laid out with 6 strings and that weird EADGBE tuning, everyone knows the correct tuning for the bass is BEADG(C) depending on if you have a 5 or 6 string!
😂😂😂😂 After this video came out, people went to the wikihow article and continued to downvote the “expert” answer - it now has 77 downvotes, when David filmed it, it only had 14 downvotes.
"Learn how to play roots." I actually did that. The first song I learned to play on a bass was Roots Bloody Roots from Sepultura. The next one was Into The Void from Black Sabbath. After that, people started asking me to play pop songs so now I live in a desert.
I started on fretless back in 2004. Went great! Started with Lounge Act, Californication, Zombi (cranberries) - great fretless songs of course totally not. K's choice really helped me bring out that fretless tone though; by plucking closer to the neck for that soft signature fretless grizzle.
