Car Cassette Tape player not working - PLEASE HELP

- Ive got the tape player inserting/ejecting property, but it still won't read the cassette tape. What should I look for? I've cleaned the head. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And don't tell me to buy a new deck!!

The loading belt might be dry or stretched, try to get to the belt using a qtip and rubber rejeuvenate ... Microcenter sells it as printer roller revitalizer..
Change belt and lubricate the gears with silicon grease it works 100 percent
I dont know anything about tape deck repair but that was some good asmr

None of my cassette players work either. Same as my truck. It's like if a person didn't continue to use them, they have stopped working. Just bought a cassette player/CD player to replace my old model. This cassette player doesn't work either.
Hey, did you happen to find a solution?. I have a 1968 mustang and the cassette player is doing the same thing.
It is the drive belt. From what I understand most car cassette players are the same in that the old belt stretches overtime and slips to where it will not run the mechanics. This one is fairly easy to reach, but it does require you remove some parts.

Software here is simple, but timeless... It's just awesome, for me, to listen my old cassettes, and other that I find, while driving! Keep vintage stuff running!

Mechanism problem
Its auto reversing because the drive belt is broken or worn out, or there is some other transport problem preventing the spools turning.

Mine is doing exactly the same thing. Did you get to the bottom of it? I've ordered some belts to try to see if that sorts it.
I also ordered the main drive belt for it but haven't gotten around to replacing. I'm almost certain that this will fix the issue, since it plays fine when the cabin temp is hot (rubber shrinks from heat) and slips when it's cold.
Did you ever fix this? Mine is doing the exact same thing I just replaced the drive belt and it’s still doing the same thing
I did but it was the drive belt being too loose. Other comments suggested rejuvenation loading belt/other belts in the mechanism?

Buy a new car
buy a newer headunit ebay has tons of them or u can use an external small portable cassette player laying around ur house. simply buy a good cassette to cd adapter and plug the other end of the cord to the earphone jack of ur portable and play ur tapes that way hope this helps ya good day!
