    I would say, as chinese philosophy says; Life is purposeless. so have a blast. Let go, don't cling. When you do something, do it with all your might. And most importantly, ejnoy, do whatever you can to enjoy yourself. But ones you see that all external things are really are the internal things, and that this is one organism, you'll come to feeling of tremendous compassion. You see that what you call "Me, Myself" is the Universe. You are nothing other than the Universe. By organism, I mean one connected system (not in the sense of something mechanical) where all is interdependent on each other. Thoughts?

      I like it, but 'purposeless' sounds so negative

    • @PatrickBansuri
      @PatrickBansuri 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why do you think it is negative? I think it's a compliment. If we look at the world without the human in the center, then this becomes perfectly sensible.

      ***** If I have a purpose, then by definition the universe has at least one purpose, for the reasons you gave. As the only self-aware species we know of, it is up to us to give Life purpose, and through us to make the universe meaningful and purposeful.

      ***** If life is 'puposeless' make whatever purpose you want ! It gives you freedom to live and decide the way you want to contribute. That gives you all the purpose you need.

    I think in today's age the strictly goal driven and purpose filled people are actually the walking generalities you speak of. It's those who coast through life enjoying it's simplicity, seeking inner peace, and limiting their own desires that are the unique and wise ones of our age. This video has this channel's own philosophy backwords.

      thats how I live since a few months, I love it. I'm not a neurotic goal setting purpose fulfiller.. I fulfilled life's purpose by being alive that's it.
      I still want to achieve some things and learn this and that, but in the end all will be lost when the winds the wings of death summons will blow out the candle of light, warming ones being.

    • @atlehman69
      @atlehman69 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pla tos I'm glad you agree! One thing I try to strive for is what could be called a Death Bed Perspective. Basically, I live life wondering how I'd feel about any action, attitude, outlook, decision, perception, etc. that I took throughout my life once I'm on my deathbed. This typically takes the form of a question to myself, such as, will this really matter when I'm dying, will I regret losing touch with this person when it's over, will I be glad I'm still holding out for an apology with a week left to live, etc. This has personally helped guide my life in a positive way. And one rather unforeseen outcome of this is that my attitude toward success has become more Eastern than Western, if that makes sense.
      This video promoted a Western attitude toward success, which I've found unsatisfying generally. It's biggest downfall is failing to emphasize the value of being content, consequently leaving you with an almost insatiable appetite for more, even if you've earned so much.

    I'm loving this. How did I just find this channel. I gave a workshop on understand our why yesterday with some teens. And they just weren't absorbing it yet. I get it. They are young still and I can work on my delivery, but I wish I understood the meaning of having a bigger purpose earlier on. When did everyone else discover their purpose?

      New Future Builder You are still here aren't you? There is only ever now so you have a choice. No regrets only opportunities, what you focus on will come to you. Build it now with passion. Your words inspired me as I could hear some of those same questions in my own head and realized I am asking the wrong questions to create something new. Thank you

      Seven Candles That is very true. Its another thing I stress when teaching. Feeling like our decision is permanent one becomes a moment of paralysis for some people when in reality it is destined to not just change, but mature and grow as they grow.

    I am more like a wandering specific. And I'm happy with it :)
    Why should I waste my time in the search for meaning? I prefer to enjoy moments as they come.

    • @stevendiaz3206
      @stevendiaz3206 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      1337HaxXx0r If you are a wandering specific then that's your meaning, to wander. I highly doubt it and i've seen people who are satisfied with that thinking but when they get older they truly didn't desire just "Wandering". Then they spend the rest of their lives in regret of what they could've done. But maybe you truly do like to just Live. I don't mean to be disrespectful just thought i could share.

    "People today complain of lack of time, it's not lack of time that's the problem, it's the lack of direction." -- Jim Rohn, Engineered for Purpose
    "You are part of an equation. You are needed... As you begin to take on this new era that we're in, if you decide that (you) are going to start giving more of (yourself), contributing more to life, I guarantee you that life will take on a whole new meaning for you, I guarantee you that life takes on a whole new dimension, that you'll be happier, you'll have a greater sense of happiness and fulfillment in life, that now you'll begin to take off onto new paths and new horizons." -- Les Brown, Engineered for Purpose

    I want to thank you for making this video. I've found it a bit by random (maybe destiny) about a year ago. The message on it got me stuck to it for the past year, I use it has my alarm clock, and everyday I woke up to it. And now finally, I'm sure to have found my purpose, I've got my "long range goal", and most of all I more happy than I've ever been. I've spend hours listening to the the speakers on this video, trying to soak up what they were saying, it pushed me further and further. Most of the times I couldn't figured out why and how I could/would change, until it 'clicked', and all made sense.
    They and you set me up to a new path, because I'm able to "see further", and because after being tested time after time, I really believe in me, I can. Thank you.

    ~it is the moment we are born that we already know where we are suppose to be going as where we just left is still the same but through conditioning into the subconsciousness we all begin to live on the left side of the brain entertaining the ego and maintaing an objective material life seeking to achieve identity and status~our true life purpose is to find the true self within and seek that path that takes us into the origin of our are SOUL*~
    ~to this day with so much in distractions being "of" the world for gaining some illusion that some call power they have already lost that sense of direction in knowing what the purpose in being here is for~as said to seek the origin of your SOUL*~sadly enough to about 99.9% of the total population will never know of this and be lost for many eons to come in searching why they are here~yes there is a map inside us that already knows why we are here without cause for condition in which if you look around that is all you see as there is no oneness in being central in harmony with nature or truenature~in other words all in the surround is false~
    ~searching for a purpose to gain some status that is only illusional is not worth searching for at all~Bodhidharma, founder of ZEN* stood in front of the Emperor Wu as Emperor Wu boasted about how much he gave to the community and Buddhism he asked Bodhidharma if there was any merit in that?~Bodhidharma replied~no merit at all"~the Emperor was shocked~Bodhidharma's meaning is simple` that is all for the ego and not for the true self~I get a kick on celebrities that give all away in materialism and expect they are doing something good for humanity but all it is for is to pad their egos more and more establishing more suffering with attachments and their is no true self in finding their purpose with the road map back to origin within their SOUL*~
    ~the moment you have found your origin there is nothing that can ever influence you ever again as no events as well persuade you to "of" it as well such as causes which is struggle which is suffering and is that the reason why your SOUL* and the origin came here to be of~as the ego dies very quickly now you know who you are and your eyes can finally see~
    ~if you never find your origin then what was the purpose of ever being "here"?~all else is just simply bullsh** and you lived as a puppet in the illusion or the matrix as you suffocated your SOUL* to its spiritual death~

    You know why it's so bad to be average? TO be a wandering generality? Because that means you are wasting your ability to change someones life. You are wasting time to make this world better. You are wasting opportunities to turn the momentum of evil, fear, and scarcity into an abundance of good, love, and prosperity. It's not about you. Oh no, it's about the person next to you that you will effect. #MP

      +Motivational Philosopher That all sounds good. But if "evil, fear, and scarcity" are not defined by Christ, His Law, His morality, then you can try and do all the good you want... and you will wake having done unbelievable damage. Focus all those energies through The Cross, bow the knee to Him, his definition of terms, right and wrong, Good and Evil, and then your efforts will bear fruit. Not just here on earth, for but a short time, but eternally.
      All else will be burned in the consuming fire. Nice but for a few moments or years, but not lasting.

    I like the lessons explained but I disagree with 'purpose' storyline. By stating people have a purpose and that they lack direction you actually tell them they should be looking for something. This creates void. Why? Because people are pushed to expect fulfilment. Fulfilment with something they cant define and will never find. Now imagine millions searching forever. In that context videos like these will not help, they will make you smile for a short while. And thats about it. Its a temporary bandaid.
