  • Made a few tweaks to my plein air painting setup for oil and gouache. My posture is bad enough from sitting at a computer, so time to switch back from lap painting to standing with a tripod!

You could buy some cube magnets and place those near the hinge, so you don't need the piece of wood to hold up the tray anymore.
    Nice setup!

That's a great idea! Add more magnets to the collection

Omigosh that tilted collapsible water cup tip is SO GOOD I don't know why I never thought to do that with mine!

Using the collapsable water cup on the slanted easel and it still being level is the PROFESSIONAL move

What do you use to weigh down the tripod ? It seems to lacks a hook at the base of the head - Is your tripod 21 inches long when closed? Thanks- always inspiring info

Hi, it will go to 36" I think. I don't usually weigh it down with anything, usually I'm sitting :)

How did you put your oil paints in the old watercolor palette? Are they in individual, large watercolor pans? Great idea, that.

Nope, just squeezed in next to each other. I'm not too precious about it!
