At about 9:20 in the video currently, I'm going to make a guess and say that part of the plot has to do with witches and/or witchcraft. It's a long shot, but the minor details of the burning/freezing skeletons, golden ritual stone, a chair suspended by ropes, and one the main characters being a cat while another is a ghost just give me a feeling that something about this web series has to do with witchcraft I'll come back and edit this comment after I'm done watching the video to correct myself or elaborate depending on if I would be right or wrong in this assumption Edit: So, after the video was over, there were even more clues that led me to believe that witchcraft is a strong presence in this series. I don't want to assume too much, but going off of what's shown in the individual videos and found in the games, I want to present my basic idea for a potential plot. Elon (the Cat) and Naarah (the small ghost) were accused of being witches at one point in time (think Salem witch trials), and were sentenced to death. I want to assume that the burning/red skeleton in the first game was burned at the stake, and the smaller freezing/blue skeleton was drowned in a river (which is a much looser connection, but also would explain the chair suspended by ropes in the same game). I also want to assume that Elon is the burning/red skeleton, since Elon (the Cat) is shown as burning and melting in the TH-cam profile picture, while Naarah is the smaller freezing/blue skeleton as A) it's the only other skeleton in the game, and B) Naarah's ghost form is perceived as smaller (and not to mention has a blue complexion) compared to Elon. But, this next part is almost entirely assumption with very little backing, so if I wasn't already far off base with the witchcraft thing, this next part will certainly be even further out there. I want to believe that Elon and Naarah are haunting Gideon, as they both believe that he was their accuser that sent them to their deaths. Not only that, but I also want to believe that Gideon is innocent in the situation, and was framed by the Skin-walker, an actual witch who sent Elon and Naarah to die, and misled them to believe that Gideon had been the accuser, when the Skin-walker was the sole orchestrator. Again, there's almost no backing to that last part (not to mention various issues with the logistics of it all), but even still, I think that there's a strong connection to witchcraft with this webseries. Not to mention that I would love to be correct about this hunch, I'm also very infatuated with stories involving witchcraft and dark magic, and the inclusion of such a plot would only make me love this webseries more.
Also, Elon's human form is the tall, redhaired woman with paler skin, while for Naarah it's the short, crying girl with dark hair and brownish skin. As I have seen in Catghost 4 and 5, Elon posesses the ability to create fire, which may be a reference to how she died. Some more evidence towards Naarah being the blue one is how there is an ad for the series which is actually and animated GIF, where Elon turns into the red skeleton and Naraah becomes the blue one. All the evidence I have found in the games/videos points to the theory about Naraah and Elon's human and skeleton forms and deaths being true.
I know it's a year later but when you mentioned being intrigued by stories of witchcraft and dark magic I just had to comment something. I highly recommend you go out and find a book series called "Sister Light, Sister Dark" by Jane Yolen. They are the first book just mentioned, it's sequel; "White Jenna" and a stand-alone that also could be the third; "The One-Armed Queen".
The link that is title "window" has an insight to who these characters are. You have to change your computer clock to 12:59 am and wait to see what happens next.

Maybe someone was talking to you through the key in real time, they answered any sentence you asked without using a default answer. I don’t think they would have put in so many responses to so many possible questions.
Well, the games code does support connection to a server, and so far no one has found those responses in the game files, so it's probably either the Dev or a larger automated server...
My immediate first guess with the third game is that it's time based. The clock displays the same time as your system; possibly playing it at certain times triggers an effect?
I read some of the comments on Window, at it seems 3AM is where something will happen in the game. I may be recalling this incorrectly, but I think I remember on an old paranormal reality TV show that 3AM is one of the times where ghosts and hauntings are the most active.
Hey NightMind, the blue skeleton can say something along the lines of, "I tried to save him." Also, in the data.win file of the game, open it in notepad and ctrl+F and search for "who is gideon" and you'll find the question, its answer, and ever other possible question+answer from 'key' in a very long line.

Well, if you'd like my opinion; the way I see it, there are two possibilities here; It is very odd, but i presume that there might be some low form ai/extra possible answers hidden inside the exe itself, or; the only other possibility I could think up is that Nick himself might be in some way apart of or helping with the catghost project/webseries (can it as you will) and is throwing a bit of a red herring at his viewers to draw attention to the series... I personally wouldn't really suspect the latter though; the file size for the exe seems rather large, especially considering how the games randomizer and responses/mechanics are in the data.win file included in the dload... (Inb4 the sprites and sound files make it larger, they shouldn't be too high res and the music is probably one looping track that's highly compressed.) It is very interesting to see though; I'd also like to point out Nick said he never could get the blue skeleton to say anything else, but it (like the red skeleton) also has a special response on the 2nd or 3rd time you talk to it, an extra line after that continuing it, and it has 2 base dialouges it responds with after at random.... Not that that means much, but, Nick would have to have known that while trying the game, or while doing some research/testing about/on it when he made this video.... (Inb4 he just didn't realize it and there was no info out there the games been out for several months and it's not a rare encounter)

This whole series is about the Salem witch trials. Gideon being the old statue dude and the judge, is the one who decided to execute Elon(Being the red figure) and Nara (Being the blue figure) for being witches. So after Gideon died they have turned him into the porcupine.
I hope they treat the Skin Walker subject with respect. It's a very real legend that holds deep meaning in Navajo culture, and I hope they pull it off without disrespecting that culture. It would be neat if they delved into the lore or something, instead of using it as an eerie gimmick like most things do.

The cat is most likely a ghost due to the "oddly" placed ear. I don't believe she is naturally white, but is instead a color that is associated with transparency, just like the ghost and a light blue. The ear has a cone shape, as the tip moves similarly to the other ear. When she moves her whole head, that becomes more visually obvious.
Well in the last episode he placed the girl in the library and the player was told they would have 6 months to change their mind. It hasn't quite been six months yet, so just wait a little bit longer!
I checked out the Cat Ghost Show website and...things changed! The door is slightly open. If you click the background and click "View Page Source," there is red text at the bottom. The first part of the text says "." The second line of red text is a .jpg image link titled "foryouastoo." Copying the link and pasting in the url search bar with bring you to an image of a card with a sun on it, along with coded text at the bottom. I think the card might be a tarot card. Using some image backtracing on one of the symbols in the card, I found the alphabet the symbols are written in. It was the Theban Alphabet. Using an image of the alphabet, I translated the text on the card. It translates to "You are the sunlight." Not really sure how this plays in to the Catghost story, but hey! I did my part! I figured *something* out! Although it may already be figured out. Oh well!
There's an advertisement for Catghost on Furaffinity, sad enough that I know that. In the ad, there's a picture of the cat and the ghost, and every now and then the cat's picture changes to the burnt lady and the ghost's picture changes to the frozen lady. Dunno if that helps or something, just thought I'd bring it up.

Hey, I just figured this might be worth saying, In the Catholic Bible, Gideon is a Judge of the Old Testament (people designated to help retain the Hebrews faith in God after reaching the Promised Land) this lines up pretty well with Key calling Gideon "Judge" I just thought it was worth saying. In the first game, asking Help? and saying "I want to help" causes Key to quote the "Let us Reunite" thing. I was pretty much useless on everything else. *Edit: I also checked the scoreboard as soon as I opened Unholy Circle. The creator left a not-so-subtle jab at MatPat for giving the Pope Undertale. Dunno if that's always there or if it's random, but it amused me too much not to share.

That's so cool that someone essentially made the coolest part of Petscop (Tool's changing color and answers), and made an actual game of it. Also I can't help but notice that in Episode 4's video game sequence the figure that presumably represents Gideon has a head that strongly resembles the player character from Petscop
Someone has already commented about this, but fuck it. The witching hour is considered 3AM. Changing your time to 3AM and playing the mirror game causes the woman in the mirror to appear and the clock to go crazy while fading to white and characters appearing. You can try this out to see what happens next.
Honestly I love the web series as well. It's so weird yet interesting. Like you said it feels like a mix of Petscop- having a game to see/play that's very vague and full of mystery- and don't hug me I'm scared- an almost kid show parody that shows (in a more obvious way) the darker side of the shows. I'm particularly fond of the animation and will probably try out the games soon

What timing! Just yesterday I commented in Catghost 1 saying how I hoped someone like Night Mind would do a video on this series because I was having trouble understanding some of the more hidden details. I'm not very good at these things so having a big community working on it as well makes enjoying them much easier for me. Too bad you didn't notice (or at least say in the video) how this seems to be a monthly series as all the episodes seem to have been released a month apart of each other and how the Voice Actor of Gideon is credited under a fake name.
I was skeptical about an animated spook series with cute characters, but this is honestly so creative and unique and fun and 😍 I feel like I'm living through a Renaissance of spooky ARGs. I've never felt compelled to participate in one before but I'm really tempted to bust out the laptop and start theorizing. I want to assume that the burning/red skeleton in the first game was burned at the stake, and the smaller freezing/blue skeleton was drowned in a river (which is a much looser connection, but also would explain the chair suspended by ropes in the same game).
I also want to assume that Elon is the burning/red skeleton, since Elon (the Cat) is shown as burning and melting in the TH-cam profile picture, while Naarah is the smaller freezing/blue skeleton as A) it's the only other skeleton in the game, and B) Naarah's ghost form is perceived as smaller (and not to mention has a blue complexion) compared to Elon. But, this next part is almost entirely assumption with very little backing, so if I wasn't already far off base with the witchcraft thing, this next part will certainly be even further out there.
I want to believe that Elon and Naarah are haunting Gideon, as they both believe that he was their accuser that sent them to their deaths. Not only that, but I also want to believe that Gideon is innocent in the situation, and was framed by the Skin-walker, an actual witch who sent Elon and Naarah to die, and misled them to believe that Gideon had been the accuser, when the Skin-walker was the sole orchestrator.
Again, there's almost no backing to that last part (not to mention various issues with the logistics of it all), but even still, I think that there's a strong connection to witchcraft with this webseries. Not to mention that I would love to be correct about this hunch, I'm also very infatuated with stories involving witchcraft and dark magic, and the inclusion of such a plot would only make me love this webseries more.
Also, Elon's human form is the tall, redhaired woman with paler skin, while for Naarah it's the short, crying girl with dark hair and brownish skin.
As I have seen in Catghost 4 and 5, Elon posesses the ability to create fire, which may be a reference to how she died.
Some more evidence towards Naarah being the blue one is how there is an ad for the series which is actually and animated GIF, where Elon turns into the red skeleton and Naraah becomes the blue one.
All the evidence I have found in the games/videos points to the theory about Naraah and Elon's human and skeleton forms and deaths being true.
I know it's a year later but when you mentioned being intrigued by stories of witchcraft and dark magic I just had to comment something. I highly recommend you go out and find a book series called "Sister Light, Sister Dark" by Jane Yolen. They are the first book just mentioned, it's sequel; "White Jenna" and a stand-alone that also could be the third; "The One-Armed Queen".

Well, the games code does support connection to a server, and so far no one has found those responses in the game files, so it's probably either the Dev or a larger automated server...
It might be an automated server. Some other comments are suggesting that, as they've seen server links.
My immediate first guess with the third game is that it's time based. The clock displays the same time as your system; possibly playing it at certain times triggers an effect?
I read some of the comments on Window, at it seems 3AM is where something will happen in the game. I may be recalling this incorrectly, but I think I remember on an old paranormal reality TV show that 3AM is one of the times where ghosts and hauntings are the most active.

Very interesting point! Well, if you'd like my opinion; the way I see it, there are two possibilities here;
It is very odd, but i presume that there might be some low form ai/extra possible answers hidden inside the exe itself, or; the only other possibility I could think up is that Nick himself might be in some way apart of or helping with the catghost project/webseries (can it as you will) and is throwing a bit of a red herring at his viewers to draw attention to the series...
I personally wouldn't really suspect the latter though; the file size for the exe seems rather large, especially considering how the games randomizer and responses/mechanics are in the data.win file included in the dload...
(Inb4 the sprites and sound files make it larger, they shouldn't be too high res and the music is probably one looping track that's highly compressed.)
It is very interesting to see though; I'd also like to point out Nick said he never could get the blue skeleton to say anything else, but it (like the red skeleton) also has a special response on the 2nd or 3rd time you talk to it, an extra line after that continuing it, and it has 2 base dialouges it responds with after at random.... Not that that means much, but, Nick would have to have known that while trying the game, or while doing some research/testing about/on it when he made this video.... (Inb4 he just didn't realize it and there was no info out there the games been out for several months and it's not a rare encounter)

This whole series is about the Salem witch trials. Gideon being the old statue dude and the judge, is the one who decided to execute Elon(Being the red figure) and Nara (Being the blue figure) for being witches. So after Gideon died they have turned him into the porcupine.
I hope they treat the Skin Walker subject with respect. It's a very real legend that holds deep meaning in Navajo culture, and I hope they pull it off without disrespecting that culture. It would be neat if they delved into the lore or something, instead of using it as an eerie gimmick like most things do.

The cat is most likely a ghost due to the "oddly" placed ear. I don't believe she is naturally white, but is instead a color that is associated with transparency, just like the ghost and a light blue. The ear has a cone shape, as the tip moves similarly to the other ear. When she moves her whole head, that becomes more visually obvious.

I checked out the Cat Ghost Show website and...things changed! The door is slightly open. If you click the background and click "View Page Source," there is red text at the bottom. The first part of the text says "." The second line of red text is a .jpg image link titled "foryouastoo." Copying the link and pasting in the url search bar with bring you to an image of a card with a sun on it, along with coded text at the bottom. I think the card might be a tarot card. Using some image backtracing on one of the symbols in the card, I found the alphabet the symbols are written in. It was the Theban Alphabet. Using an image of the alphabet, I translated the text on the card. It translates to "You are the sunlight." Not really sure how this plays in to the Catghost story, but hey! I did my part! I figured *something* out! Although it may already be figured out. Oh well!
There's an advertisement for Catghost on Furaffinity, sad enough that I know that. In the ad, there's a picture of the cat and the ghost, and every now and then the cat's picture changes to the burnt lady and the ghost's picture changes to the frozen lady. Dunno if that helps or something, just thought I'd bring it up.

That's so cool that someone essentially made the coolest part of Petscop (Tool's changing color and answers), and made an actual game of it. Also I can't help but notice that in Episode 4's video game sequence the figure that presumably represents Gideon has a head that strongly resembles the player character from Petscop
Someone has already commented about this, but fuck it. The witching hour is considered 3AM. Changing your time to 3AM and playing the mirror game causes the woman in the mirror to appear and the clock to go crazy while fading to white and characters appearing. You can try this out to see what happens next.
Honestly I love the web series as well. It's so weird yet interesting. Like you said it feels like a mix of Petscop- having a game to see/play that's very vague and full of mystery- and don't hug me I'm scared- an almost kid show parody that shows (in a more obvious way) the darker side of the shows. I'm particularly fond of the animation and will probably try out the games soon

What timing! Just yesterday I commented in Catghost 1 saying how I hoped someone like Night Mind would do a video on this series because I was having trouble understanding some of the more hidden details. I'm not very good at these things so having a big community working on it as well makes enjoying them much easier for me.
