The BEST!! We hadn't played this game since we were kids and didn't remember how to play. Looked at several videos - still couldn't figure it out (with other commenters agreeing). This video was perfect!! Watched it just once and jumped into the game. Thank you!!
As a software developer I obtain great insights and practice opportunities by studying this kind of games. Actually making a React project brought me here! Thanks for great demonstration Eric!
One little thing - I'm surprised you haven't explained that, to get the 1,2,3,4,5,6 bonus, you have to score a total of 63, which is equal to throwing three of each number. If you do mention it (I'm not good at paying attention, so I might have missed it), then I apologise for mentioning it.
Not sure why I'm commenting on a 6 year old video, but I've gotten a tiny bit addicted to playing it online so here we are. That said, maybe it's known by now but the play here is pretty subpar. You always want to prioritize getting the bonus so putting four 3's as your 4 of a kind is a no no. You want to put it in 3's and then you can even get away with putting a 0 in 1's later. Same with 6's and 5's where you should usually be putting them in the top half rather than 4 of a kind if you can. The mistake a lot of players make is pigeonholing themselves into the top half of the score. Remember, 4 of a kinds or 3 of a kinds can be anything so when your top is all filled up, no 3 of a kind or 4 of a kind rolls are wasted. But if you've filled those already plus say 4's and then roll 3 4's, you're kind of stuck. Don't fall in love with the high scoring 3 and 4 of a kinds because they'll cost you the bonus far too often! Also, it's funny that you said full houses are "extremely rare" and then rolled like 3 more. They aren't that rare; every time you roll 3 of a kind you have a 1/3 chance of hitting it in the next two rolls. If you roll say 3 5's or 3 6's with a full house, you should roll twice more to get the yahtzee or more 5's and 6's if it's still open. It's worth the risk.
Thanks Eric! I was easily addicted to this game but initially viewed your video to learn Yahtzee...ha. I tried to find this game in my App Store but was unsuccessful. So now I’m forced to go back to your video and click on your link...anyway ty
You're hilarious - dissin' on Bill! I think might have to try out the on-line version a few times. Trying to find some new games to play with the grandparents over video-chat during pandemic stay-at-home time. UPDATE - Just beat Bill on my first try. Beginner's Luck, I am sure!
I usually play three or four games per day just by myself; no opponent, not even Bill. I use real dice. My highest score to date is 639, including FOUR yahtzees in a row!
@@leewood28 Lol, still been using those same dice since my original comment three years ago. Never have rolled four straight again though. Have rolled two straight many times, and three straight I think once or twice. The 639 score remains my all-time high.
In one of the moves --- 4 threes and the one --- I would have gone for the 4 threes to get 12 points and try for another four of a kind opportunity. Yes, I know the risk involved of losing the four of a kind, but there could have been a better opportunity for a larger score. It's like gambling. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. I've played this game many times and, more often than not, I lose against Bill. But, I do feel good on the times I am able to beat him.
Good video - but "Bill" doesn't cheat, even if it feels like it when he gets lucky. He actually slavishly follows a set of priorities that aren't even good ones. If you are a reasonably good player, you will beat him far more often than he beats you.
Love this guy's instruction...super hillarious! Learned so much. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Amazing! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for that, playing "Yahtzee" is so much clearer now. I am hoping to make a "YARDZEE" so this has been very helpful. Thanks again...

No problem. Enjoy!
This is a nice basic version. Can you play Triple Yahtzee on this platform?
This is hilarious yet educational
Love hearing that! Thanks! :)

Wow! That's an amazing score! Good job! :)
Four Yahtzess in a row. LOL. Check those dice!

What if you get a yahtzee at the end, do you get to roll and try for a bonus Yahtzee?

1:11 actually, he took two 4s and he wrote 12 in the score sheet? what am I missing?
Edit. Ok, I guess that was a re-roll and he kept another 4
How many turns before game's over?
You are just great🤩
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you very much!
Happy to help! :) Have a wonderful Day!
What I learned: Bill's a dirty bastard.

Bill couldn't take 4s because he'd already scored them.
good call!
beat bill first try. thanks! im helping out this kid with math over the summer to sharpen her math skills before school starts out again
Glad I could help! This is a good game for working with numbers.
I've won against Bill many times, and my highest score was 748.
Bill is a monster.
Bill is just the worst!
Lol.....nice video man
