- A ride-share driver was shot in the head Thursday night in Brooklyn. CBS New York's Kristie Keleshian spoke with his roommates, who say he was working to support his wife and four children in Pakistan.

Before the Taxi Cab biz was obliterated by ride share, I recall a never ending issue regarding NYC cab drivers refusing to pick up certain individuals. The reason was they were scared. I know, ridiculous.

My father owned 4 yellow cab medallions and was once a driver in the late 70s, he never went to the black neighborhoods or Spanish neighborhoods. He always asked where are you going before they got into the cab, if he heard any of the above he would speed away. That’s how you guarantee yourself to stay alive, much like a bank when it comes to a mortgage, they see numbers and based on numbers they say yes or no. His family used to live with him in the Gulf. He was just in transition and getting settled in the US. Why would be he getting into the US illegally?
