That's like saying Queens of the Stone Age 'Go with the Flow' was underrated. Just not true. Really good album though, you got good taste! If you like this then check out Aphrodite's Child 'Four Horsemen', he took a bit from their sound, and Comus (their first album) Conceptually it was dark as you like yet also equally creative. They are much more 70's folk horror than glam rock.

This is one of my favorite music videos of all time. This was the first time I saw what Manson looked like in this era, and I was blown away. Changing his look and style completely was an enormous risk, and he pulled it off. I know alot of fans rejected this era, but to me it's one of my favorites. By far his second best album (behind Portrait, of course), and the only album I have ever found of which I love every songle track on it. A true masterpiece.

I like this song a lot, not only because of the melody, but also because of the lyrics, because it makes you realize how superficial and changeable human beings are.I don't think of this lyric as one that talks about drugs, even though it actually does talk about drugs, but I focus more on the line where it says "they love you when you're on all the covers and then when you're gone they love someone else" it's just THAT, the unreliability of relationships....there is nothing stable...people move apart and move closer together like a rubber band, until this breaks and the relationship ends and we go back to being strangers like and more than before....we are destined to be alone....

It's interesting, how the musicians who get called satanists the most, aren't the heaviest. Think about it: groups like MM and Slipknot get called satanic a lot more than bands like Cannibal Corpse or Suicide Silence, who make songs that are way darker and more violent. Why? Because MM and Slipknot, while far from mainstream, are still way closer to it than CC or SS. Just something to think about.
True there are much darker and heavier bands, but the more popular you are, the more criticism you're going to get. Look what happened with the attention some bands got after Columbine. MM and Slipknot were mainstream in the late 90s to early 00s when you would see their videos on MTV a lot. Not any more. All I see now on music channels are reality tv shows and the odd pop video. Reality tv took over. Everything popular is now just generic pop (ask S Cowell), 'EDM', or mixed. Rock truly is dead. Even 'proper' hip hop doesn't get much of a look in compared to what it used to, although still beats rock for popularity
i'm not a huge hip hop fan but look into TYLER THE CREATOR...he was rapping about heavy real life stuff and he was criticized by the hip hop community for not embracing an ignorant outlook on life with materailism. He also made his own beats..and plays piano and guitar. However the hip hop industry was threated and they made him out to be a SATAN worshipper even though he never raps about the devil.
Most of his songs are about his dad,losing faith in religion, dead friends, materalism in rap,high school crushes, how steryotypes are negative things.

It was about a genderless Alien being taken by the government and then forced to be a Hollywood celebrity as like an experiment.
I actually realized that not too long ago. That’s why he went from the grimy, dark appearance with the wired corsets and stuff that we associate with the Antichrist Superstar album to the David Bowie-ish appearance of the Mechanical Animals character (Omega).
