  • Surface Tension is a very short topic of properties of matter but it can be quickly covered for scoring in questions asked from this topic. From the point of view of JEE Main and NEET, one or two question from surface tension are always asked so its a bonus topic to be covered as in very short time students can easily manage this topic well.

    For those who want the derivation of surface tension = surface energy/area without going to concept videos:
    We know surface tension T= F/length
    Multiple both sides by width w
    T= F×w /l×w
    = surface energy/ area
    (As we know work= energy= force×displacement)

      nope...if you take a reactangular ring....it will F = T*(2l+2w)*2 ....just like the previous ring example.....
      and bodies are usually taken rigid...so tension is cancelled internally

    ie. sir took reciprocal only on one side.

      No, the reciprocal is done correctly, sir dono side hi kiye hai. 1/r3 = r2- r1 / r1 r2 so uska reciprocal hai

      agar question me drop hota to fir 2T/R lena padta...
