"Dunkirk is a soulless film that totally misses the point of what a war film is supposed to be" Veteran cries after seeing how accurate the movie was....
Movies I liked in Summer 2017; Guardians of the Galaxy 2, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Transformers: The Last Knight, Cars 3, Captain Underpants, Atomic Blonde, Baby Driver, Spider-Man: Homecoming, War for the Planet of the Apes, The Hitman's Bodyguard, Wonder Woman, Dunkirk, and Logan Lucky. Didn't really care for the other movies.
The war was supposed to be a mental war with Caesar. And Dunkirk’s supposed to be like the experience of being dropped in the middle of the war, and seeing how terrifying it was for the soldiers involved.
You guys have to stop giving this guy a hard time, these are just his opinions, you have accept that not everyone is going to like the same thing as you.

I'm sorry you feel that way because I had a lot of fun with Homecoming. Even Ralphthemoviemaker, who dislikes Amazing Spider-man and despises Amazing Spider-man 2, said that Homecoming was almost as good as the first 2 Sam Ramis. Edit: I loved Dunkirk because it was an experimental format for a war film and for me it worked. I just love how some comments are saying you should watch something or that you haven't watched something because you didn't like the movie. "Your opinion doesn't align with mine so you must've not seen the movie"
Taking into account all the Spiderman movies as of now, Homecoming was easily the best, in my opinion. Other than that though, the only other movie I was looking forward to, The Mummy, failed at almost every turn. The premise was pretty cool, but the rest fell very flat. I will however admit this, there was one scene I really liked involving Mr. Hyde and the main character.
I liked Spider-Man Homecoming and Wonder Woman. The only movies I saw that I really disliked this summer were live-action Beauty and the Beast and the Pirates of the Caribbean one but then again, I wasn't expecting to like the Pirates one and mostly saw it to see how bad it was lol.

BlackCriticGuy however, and don't get me wrong, I'm not a Nolan fan. Most of his film i don't find them "masterpieces" as everyone is saying, and Dunkirk is not a perfect film I'm just saying that it's a good film (not excellent, good). But the point wasn't to be another war film, it was to give that feel for the viewer that you are being part of the war.
I hated Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Long Haul MORE than The Emoji Movie. The Long Haul felt like an insult to the fans of the books and the first 3 films (like myself).
I totally agree with you on this summer, Tony! It was AWFUL! A lot of people think last year's summer was the worst and that was a very bad summer for movies, but this one was much worse in my opinion! Of all the movies I saw this year, I was disappointed by most of them, and I only loved 3 films the entire summer.
I agree with you Tony that this was a bad crop of movies that came out this summer. I was very disappointed with The Mummy, knew that Transformers was going to what it was going to be, and I knew that Baywatch would suck. I would say that Baby Driver was the surprise hit of the summer but nothing tops Wonder Woman.
As much as I love your content, and I can respect your opinion as long as you respect mine, but I'm gonna be completely honest with ya. I love Wonder Woman. To me, it's one of my most favorite superhero movies. Not as good as The Dark Knight, but in the top 5
I Highly disagree with the Summer 2017 movie season sucking, as personally, I thought it was a huge improvement over Summer 2016, if only because WONDER WOMAN and SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING were some of the best films I've seen in theaters in a long time! Plus, the only film of Summer 2016 I felt was exceptional was CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and while I personally enjoyed X-MEN APOCALYPSE and GHOSTBUSTERS despite others being more critical of them, everything else that summer ranged from mediocre (INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGANCE) to a mess (SUICIDE SQUAD), and downright terrible (ICE AGE: COLLISON COURSE). 2017 however, had truly phenomenal summer blockbusters like the aforementioned WONDER WOMAN and SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, and I've heard that WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is really good (I still need to see it since I loved the first two films). Honestly, the only major stinkers I feel we had this summer were BAYFORMERS: THE LAST NIGHT and THE EMOJI MOVIE... Also, why does the BCG dismiss HOMECOMING as "another Sony produced Spider-Man reboot?" Yeah Sony was involved in the production, but honestly, watching the film it felt like Sony was barely involved with it and that they just let Marvel Studios and Disney do pretty much all of it. On a tonal level it feels like an MCU movie rather than a Sony movie. I personally bet the reason it feels more Marvel than Sony is because the Sony executives were more busy putting their "creative efforts" into THE EMOJI MOVIE, as it wouldn't be the first time Sony has cared more about product placement than good filmmaking!
While I disagree with some of your opinions, I must say I really enjoyed this format of recapping your reviews on the films in the summer as well as your opinions about them! Keep it up and I'll look out for the Dunkirk review!
Logan Lucky (Daniel Craig alone is worth it; as a NASCAR fan the driver cameos are good too) and Hitman's Bodyguard (Reynold's and Jackson's banter is worth it) are worth going to see. And I do disagree with you on Atomic Blonde. But, to each their own.
The only reason we got another POTC movie is because Johnny Depp signed a contract for six movies. Since this is the fifth, we have only one more to go. Let us just hope and pray to the movie gods above that it won't suck.
This summer was very good in my opinion. Marvel made a Spider-Man film that really captures Peter Parker's character, DC finally made a Wonder Woman film and it's amazing. By far the best superhero movie I've seen in a while. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is another movie that I love and I would put it at the same quality level as the first one. I would love to see Cars 3, but I never got to see it in theaters. I loved this summer in terms of movies. Sure we had The Emoji Movie, Transformers 5, and others, but I think this summer was good.
Time for my thoughts on all those films: Guardians vol. 2: BETTER THAN THE FIRST FILM! There I said it. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword: Never saw Snatched: Never saw Alien Covenant: I was gonna see it, but then I backed down cause I never saw Prometheus Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul: I lost interest in the franchise years ago Baywatch: Never saw Pirates of the Caribbean 5: I don't think so War Machine: I never even heard of this before, no shit Wonder Woman: I really liked it, and I'm not even a feminist Captain Underpants: Here's my review of it: th-cam.com/video/AWmI_4U5ieM/w-d-xo.html Mummy: Where's Brendan Fraser when you want him? It Comes At Night: Looks intriguing Cars 3: Not even gonna bother Rough Night: Looks kinda funny All Eyes on Me: Also never heard of this....boy am I under the radar sometimes Transformers 5: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no Baby Driver: Best film of the year next to Get Out Despicable Me 3: I think I'll wait until it's on dvd The House: Wait what is this again? Spiderman Homecoming: Sorry Tony, but I really enjoyed it War of the Planet of the Apes: Saw the 1968 film, haven't seen any of the reboots yet so I'm skipping on this one for now Wish Upon: Uh....what is this? Dunkirk: Pretty flawed, but a satisfying and rather unique war film nonetheless Valerian: Meh, at least the visuals and Rihanna were fun Atomic Blonde: Haven't seen yet, but kinda want to The Emoji Movie: no...........just........no Detroit: Looks really good The Dark Tower: Even though it was critically panned, I still wanna check it out Kidnap: I don't care Wind River: Huh? Annabelle Creation: I don't care The Nut Job 2: Maybe if it's on television Hitman's Bodyguard: I don't think so Logan Lucky: I really wanna see this Death Note: I haven't even seen the original series
Ik,but for me who loved it [and the perfected number to give it imo an 8/10 ^-^] ,but I respect his opinion. :) B/c I can see/understand some people say that its "Ok,Good,Fine,Alright,or pretty 'Overrated'." [Which to me I kind of don't think so..All I can say is just wait for next year for it to cool down.]
GOFG: Liked it, but the first was 10x better Captain underpants: For a movie about a guy in underwear, it was great! Wonder Woman: I LOVED IT!!!! Transformers 5: shit! Cars 3: I thought it was pretty good Spider-Man: like the idea of spider man now in marvel cinamatic universe Dunkirk: Great, Solid movie Emoji Movie: Funny because of how stupid it was Despicable me 3: I liked it! Don't get all the hate
Love your summarization of summer video (By the way where did you get the music that you used in your transition cuts it's very catchy 😁) A couple of things I agree/disagree: -Baby Driver and Cars 3 are one of the best summer surprises -Wonder Woman & Spiderman: Homecoming are ok but highly overrated. -I thought Dunkirk was really good -I always found Guardians of the Galaxy overrated and the sequel was no different. -I know I'm going to be cursed for saying this but I didn't think Pirates 5 and The Emoji Movie were that bad. -While I didn't see every film the ones I did see, my sentiments exactly. (Baywatch, Alien Covenant, Valerain, Despicable Me 3, and Detroit) -My understanding is that you skipped Captain Underpants? If possible, can you say your reason why? My brief thoughts on the film: Silly and not for everyone but is fine for what it is. One of the better DreamWorks films even if it's not perfect. Bonus points for having Weird Al sing the end theme song. Let's hope the fall will be promising.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Great movie with great visuals Pirates of Carribean 5: While it's a good movie, in my opinion, they just milking this franchise at this point. They should've stopped at At World's End. Spider Man: Homecoming: Great movie that doesn't include his origin
Ok, ignoring the part where you said Cars 3 was better than any summer 2017 movie that wasn't Baby Driver, 1. I do still agree with you in the sense that summer 2017 sucked, and 2. the summer anime season was pretty bad as well. ESPECIALLY for me as I am a primary dub fan and will make VERY few exceptions with subs, and of the simuldubs of that season I only watched 3 one of them being the second half of My Hero Academia season 2 which was a carryover so technically that means there were only TWO SHOWS from that season I liked (Tsuredure Children and Gamers) and even if you go beyind the simuldubs the other two shit competitors only had 2-3 shows EACH that were of notoriety. Netflix got Kakegurui and Fate/Apocrypha and Amazon got Welcome to the Ballroom, Made in Abyss, and continued with Re:Creators. Aside from the shows I've listed there weren't any anime that were critically acclaimed or seriously popular.
oh wow how mature idiot ,not to mention that he didn't go in a detail as to why he didn't like it ,that because he has a opinion that dosen't mean that he can't go in a detail as to why he didn't like. so shut up kid
+Kurtliffe he wasn't insulting BGC tho. Also adding that he did say he was going to go through the list briefly. He gives more details in the actual reviews on the movies.
The three films I watched from this season were Wonder Woman, Despicable Me 3, and Dunkirk. I thought Despicable Me 3 was very good, though it is the weakest of the trilogy so far. Wonder Woman was OK, and I couldn't get invested into Dunkirk.
Wonder Woman was way better than Suicide Squad & Batman vs Superman in my opinion, but as for Pirates of Caribbean movie? i knew it wasn't going to be any good.
yeah thats true..... but that's also not saying much. They were bottom of the barrel already so to say it was better than that isn't much of an accomplishment.
Hi. I actually did not go to the movie theater at all this summer. None of the movies really attracted my attention. I spent most of my time looking up various topics for my massage work on TH-cam, listening to music, and listening to a couple of different audio books. I am, in fact, working on reading a textbook about fibromyalgia and myofascial release, so that I can answer some multiple choice questions on a test that comes with the textbook. After I can get that done, I can get some continuing education units so that I can renew my professional massage therapy license next year. I also just started a new job at the end of July, and I have had a lot to learn about that. So, I have been too swamped for movies.
You saw rough night and not girls trip? It seems weird you'd see one and not the other considering they have the same premise but one is well reviewed and the other isnt
Did you actually see Homecoming? You know it was a Marvel Studios production right? It was everything a Spider-Man movie should be, definitely the best one to date. Though I find most of the Marvel movies to be way too formulaic and predictable, the formula works well in Spidey's case. Tom Holland is way better than MacGuire and Garfield at the role. And Captain Underpants was a nice little treat if you were a fan of the books as a kid. I thought it captured the spirit of them perfectly. I agree that Baby Driver was the best though. I plan on getting the Blu Ray as soon as it comes out.
Brandyn J while it was a collaboration project between Marvel and Sony, it honestly felt to me like Sony was barely involved with the film at all from a creative and tonal standpoint, and basically just let Marvel and Disney pretty much do all of it. My theory as to why that is is because I bet the Sony execs were more interested in marketing that piece of crap EMOJI MOVIE than they were HOMECOMING!
Honestly I thought last years summer movie season was far more disappointing. As I only liked 2 movies that came out that summer. They were Captain America Civil War and Hell or Highwater. Here I can say I liked at least 5 or 6 films this summer. I did also find Baby Driver a bit overrated.
My Thoughts on the movies that came out this summer GOTG2: Really Good, not as good as the first though King Arthur: Underrated, thought it was fun Snatched: An Unfunny Amy Schumer comedy where the leads are the 2 worst characters in the film Alien Covenant: Underrated, Thought it was exciting enough that I enjoyed it Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 4: Piece Of Shit Everything Everything: Piece Of Shit, better than Long Haul though Baywatch: It was OK Pirates 5, Underrated, thought it was fun, better than the previous film Wonder Woman: Really Good, not as great as everyone makes it out to be Captain Underpants: Good animated film that was better than I expected The Mummy: It was Ok, but tried to hard to set up the Dark Universe than focus on one story It Comes At Night: Good, but was way to pretentious with no answers to anything that left me somewhat unsatisfied Megan Leavey: Good war film with a heart Cars 3: Underrated, way better than Card 2 and gave a satisfying final chapter to Lighting McQueen Rough Night: Underrated, thought it was funny All Eyez On Me: A PIECE OF SHIT THAT DISRESPECTS A IMPORTANT PERSON FOR DRAMA 47 Meters Down: Good Shark Flick Transformers 5: The same piece of shit we've gotten since Transformers 2 Baby Driver: Fantastic, best film of the summer Despicable Me 3: Ok, wasn't as good as the previous films but better than Minions The House: A piece of shit comedy like Snatched where the 2 leads are the worst characters and Jeremy Renner is wasted in the final act Spider Man Homecoming: Really Good, not as good as Spider Man 1-2 or GOTG2, but is fun and refreshing War For The Planet Of The Apes: Really Good, but not as good as everyone makes it out to be Wish Upon: THE WORST FILM IVE SEEN THIS YEAR!!!! The Big Sick: A heart warming comedy with great performances Dunkirk: I loved it, it was brutal and terrifying Valerian: Haven't seen it Girls Trip: It was funny, but I liked Rough Night better Atomic Blonde: Good, but was too convoluted The Emoji Movie: The poop emoji describes it perfectly The Dark Tower: Underrated, really liked it with its fast pace and good performances Detroit: A brutal film scarier than any horror film I've seen this year even the good ones Kidnap: Haven't seen it Annabelle Creation: Better than the first film, but not as good as Conjuring 1-2, but still creepy and effective Glass Castle: Haven't seen it Nut Job 2: Bad animated film that relies on fart jokes to be funny Hitman's Bodyguard: Good but flawed, but the 2 leads make it fun Logan Lucky: A fun end of the summer heist film with great performances Birth Of The Dragon: Haven't seen it Leap!: Meh All Saints: Haven't seen it And I'm not counting any Netflix stuff only wide releases theatrical films but there ya go
Thanks, Tony. I'm still excited for Wreck-It Ralph 2, and Hopefully, Hopefully, they give Sora from Kingdom Hearts a cameo, or if he does have a major part in the film, I'd be SUPER ecstatic
Great video, Tony! Baby Driver Remarkable? I agree completely, That movie was amazing, First movie I went to see at a Theater in over 5 years.... The Way the soundtrack worked with the gunshots and choreography, paired with the stunts and action.... It was just... a wonderful experience and One I hope gets a Sequel if possible, but if not... that's just as fine. Great job overall!
you saw that film and said "yeah feels like Marvel Studios?" sorry but i disagree. it felt like another Sony Spider-Man with the Marvel Studios paint job. it does EVERYTHING the previous Spider-man films were guilty for
BlackCriticGuy All the Homecoming trailers Looked that way to me and after all the Sony Spider-Man reboots and re-boots of the re-boots Zzzzzzz will not be watching Homecoming.
I personally did love Dunkirk, but I do understand why you didn't like it. The point of this film was to focus more about the events surrounding the situation and less about the characters that go through it, which while I'm fine with, is aware that turned off many people. As for summer movies, I didn't see that many, but here's what I saw so far (mostly foreign films): Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - starts out really rough, but thankfully picks up the pace near the middle. Story of Taipei - The Room of Taiwanese movies. DiDi's Dream - a Taiwanese dramady that wasted its unique plot on an overly melodramatic story. Baby Driver - agree with you on that, amazing movie. Dunkirk - a tension-filled, harrowing and nail-biting WW2 epic that does a magnificent job at showcasing the terrors during the Dunkirk evacuation and pulling the audience into the situation (although I loved this movie, I could see why others were bothered by the lack of character development) In This Corner of the World - the pacing could have been slightly tighter, but still an impactful anime film with a few haunting moments.
For me I am glad I avoided movies that I wouldn't want to watch (Transformers 5 & Emoji "Movie") but I missed out on some movies that I wanted to see: 1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Fun & Entertaining but Weak Story 2. Wonder Woman - Story was kind of Dull but I loved it 3. WarPlanetApes - I loved it heck my Family loved it just wish it was more of a War though 4. Cars 3 & Captain Underpants - I wanted to see them because I love the Cars series and I wanted to see Captain Underpants because me & my closest friend read the books as kids. 5. Spider-Man Homecoming - Not entirely from Sony it's from Marvel Studios but all I got to say this was an ACTUAL Spider-Man Movie, it's not perfect, but dammit it truly captures how Peter Parker/Spider-Man is supposed to act. 6. The Dark Tower - It looked interesting and wanted to give it a chance so nothing much to say about it. Overall I personally enjoyed my Summer 2017 Movie season but I will still respect your Opinion & Judgement on this years Summer Season. Still pissed about the Emoji Movie though. Lastly when I saw the trailer of the New Diary of a Wimpy Kid it looked Ew. As for Death Note Fans I feel sorry for you guys.
Wonder Woman is personally my favorite summer movie of 2017! This is my OWN opinion. I really like the story and the actress who play Wonder Woman did an amazing job as the main character!

Matthew Cool Saw most of these films actually.
You have to admit Captain Underpants was way better than The Boss Baby.
The Captain Underpants movie took my childhood and brought it to life
@@tvbnine793 Yeah it did and this is coming from someone who read all of the books and enjoyed all of them

Valerian was based off of a comic that happened before Star Wars, so don't fucking call it a ripoff
Fun fact: Valerian came before many of the sci-fi movies it "rips off".
Even IGN looked it up... Even IGN... Just think about that for a second.

To be fair Wonder Woman is great .I can understand why people love it .It's come personal taste

Naruto85RasenShuriken He said in the beginning it was HIS opinion
Kurtliffe I understand that. I just disagreed with a lot of his points is all...
Diary of a wimpy kid, BCG you said EXACTLY what I said when I saw that trailer for the first time
While I disagree with some of your opinions, I must say I really enjoyed this format of recapping your reviews on the films in the summer as well as your opinions about them! Keep it up and I'll look out for the Dunkirk review!
agreed but what's your thoughts on summer anime 2017
haven't seen them haha
Logan Lucky (Daniel Craig alone is worth it; as a NASCAR fan the driver cameos are good too) and Hitman's Bodyguard (Reynold's and Jackson's banter is worth it) are worth going to see. And I do disagree with you on Atomic Blonde. But, to each their own.
I liked Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, Dunkirk, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Most Films (Except for Wonder Woman) Stunk like Shit!
The only reason we got another POTC movie is because Johnny Depp signed a contract for six movies. Since this is the fifth, we have only one more to go. Let us just hope and pray to the movie gods above that it won't suck.
I've reading/hearing that 5 starts a new trilogy. So two more movies actually.
What the fuck I didn't even know there was a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie
What's wrong with Captain Underpants?
AnimationStreet Network Ok, even though it is impressive whether you've read the books or not
If you're a fan of the Captain Underpants books like myself or a kid, you'll have a blast with Captain Underpants.
@@tvbnine793 I haven’t even read the books and I loved the movie.
War for the planet of the apes was amazing.
Annabelle creation was a huge step up from the first film aswell.
Sony did not make Spiderman: Homecoming. It's a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.
But Wonder Woman was so cool and guardians of the galaxy to and homecoming to
Time for my thoughts on all those films:
Guardians vol. 2: BETTER THAN THE FIRST FILM! There I said it.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword: Never saw
Snatched: Never saw
Alien Covenant: I was gonna see it, but then I backed down cause I never saw Prometheus
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul: I lost interest in the franchise years ago
Baywatch: Never saw
Pirates of the Caribbean 5: I don't think so
War Machine: I never even heard of this before, no shit
Wonder Woman: I really liked it, and I'm not even a feminist
Captain Underpants: Here's my review of it: th-cam.com/video/AWmI_4U5ieM/w-d-xo.html
Mummy: Where's Brendan Fraser when you want him?
It Comes At Night: Looks intriguing
Cars 3: Not even gonna bother
Rough Night: Looks kinda funny
All Eyes on Me: Also never heard of this....boy am I under the radar sometimes
Transformers 5: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, no
Baby Driver: Best film of the year next to Get Out
Despicable Me 3: I think I'll wait until it's on dvd
The House: Wait what is this again?
Spiderman Homecoming: Sorry Tony, but I really enjoyed it
War of the Planet of the Apes: Saw the 1968 film, haven't seen any of the reboots yet so I'm skipping on this one for now
Wish Upon: Uh....what is this?
Dunkirk: Pretty flawed, but a satisfying and rather unique war film nonetheless
Valerian: Meh, at least the visuals and Rihanna were fun
Atomic Blonde: Haven't seen yet, but kinda want to
The Emoji Movie: no...........just........no
Detroit: Looks really good
The Dark Tower: Even though it was critically panned, I still wanna check it out
Kidnap: I don't care
Wind River: Huh?
Annabelle Creation: I don't care
The Nut Job 2: Maybe if it's on television
Hitman's Bodyguard: I don't think so
Logan Lucky: I really wanna see this
Death Note: I haven't even seen the original series
I got a feeling that tony is going to piss off some Wonder Woman fans
Ik,but for me who loved it [and the perfected number to give it imo an 8/10 ^-^] ,but I respect his opinion. :)
B/c I can see/understand some people say that its "Ok,Good,Fine,Alright,or pretty 'Overrated'." [Which to me I kind of don't think so..All I can say is just wait for next year for it to cool down.]
I'm curious about your thoughts on Dunkirk. Personally, I thought it was phenomenal, but I'm open to someone explaining why they didn't like it.
It least there isn't a teen Titans go movie
And I didn't think it'd be possible to suck worse than the 2016 Summer Movie Season.
well it did haha
I agree :P
None of the summer movies never peaked my interest besides wonder woman, and I just hope that summer movie season 2018 would be better :P
Tony's drunk skit at 3:12 killed me.
GOFG: Liked it, but the first was 10x better
Captain underpants: For a movie about a guy in underwear, it was great!
Wonder Woman: I LOVED IT!!!!
Transformers 5: shit!
Cars 3: I thought it was pretty good
Spider-Man: like the idea of spider man now in marvel cinamatic universe
Dunkirk: Great, Solid movie
Emoji Movie: Funny because of how stupid it was
Despicable me 3: I liked it! Don't get all the hate
Zac Ritner that's ur own opinion but to me and many others transformers 5 SUCKED
Zac Ritner Yea I'm saying u can like it but most people don't but don't be so rude about it
Thank you! I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes Despicable me 3.
Love your summarization of summer video (By the way where did you get the music that you used in your transition cuts it's very catchy 😁)
A couple of things I agree/disagree:
-Baby Driver and Cars 3 are one of the best summer surprises
-Wonder Woman & Spiderman: Homecoming are ok but highly overrated.
-I thought Dunkirk was really good
-I always found Guardians of the Galaxy overrated and the sequel was no different.
-I know I'm going to be cursed for saying this but I didn't think Pirates 5 and The Emoji Movie were that bad.
-While I didn't see every film the ones I did see, my sentiments exactly. (Baywatch, Alien Covenant, Valerain, Despicable Me 3, and Detroit)
-My understanding is that you skipped Captain Underpants?
If possible, can you say your reason why?
My brief thoughts on the film: Silly and not for everyone but is fine for what it is. One of the better DreamWorks films even if it's not perfect. Bonus points for having Weird Al sing the end theme song.
Let's hope the fall will be promising.
With the exception of Wonder Woman and war of the planet of the apes. Yeah many of the summer movies this year suck. -_-
I enjoyed The Hitman's Bodyguard despite the plot being basic. The characters saved the movie imo.
I actually enjoyed Wonder Woman, Spider-Man Homecoming, and Captain Underpants.
Same could be said how this is the most dissapointing year for animated movies, with a few exceptions.
Coco is bound to be amazing
8:00 I mean... Valerian didn't copy anything but itself...
Did you even look at any other result when you looked up the poster?...
Except Wonder Woman, I hope next summer would be better.
At least Wonder Woman was amazing!
Wonder Woman There were I agree the Black Critic Guy is being a little harsh on this Summer lol!
Captain Underpants The First Epic Movie Blackcriticguy: Skip!!!!! LMAO
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: Great movie with great visuals
Pirates of Carribean 5: While it's a good movie, in my opinion, they just milking this franchise at this point. They should've stopped at At World's End.
Spider Man: Homecoming: Great movie that doesn't include his origin
Woah chill. Get wonder woman out of this list. Wonder woman is on par with marvel hero movies. Youre wrong on this one. The rest were shit
Joey Carthew Marvel & DC are both pretty subjective.
His opinion, not yours.
Joey Carthew
True man. True.
ummmmm no
You......hated Wonder Woman but......liked Cars 3.......what?
DuoPersona101 Next you'll tell me he despises Citizen Kane
He actually placed Citizen Kane as #1 on his Top 10 Films I Hate That Everyone Likes.
Alberto Productions Dear God he's crazy
"crazy" except it's his opinion and his tastes. He also said it's okay if someone disagrees with him, so why y'all getting butthurt over his opinion?
when did I say I hated it? don't jump to conclusions man
This Summer movie season gave us Baby Driver, so all's good.
So happy u felt the same way about "all eyes on me" as I did.
Kristian Figueroa Shit was incredibly underwhelming.
3:14 That movie wasn't ever that bad
3:42 War Machine? what the hell is that?
4:19 You didn't like Captain Underpants? How??
Xans Priness Shut the fuck up it's his opinion kid
oh wow how mature idiot ,not to mention that he didn't go in a detail as to why he didn't like it ,that because he has a opinion that dosen't mean that he can't go in a detail as to why he didn't like.
so shut up kid
+Kurtliffe he wasn't insulting BGC tho.
Also adding that he did say he was going to go through the list briefly. He gives more details in the actual reviews on the movies.
The three films I watched from this season were Wonder Woman, Despicable Me 3, and Dunkirk. I thought Despicable Me 3 was very good, though it is the weakest of the trilogy so far. Wonder Woman was OK, and I couldn't get invested into Dunkirk.
*triggered noise plays
Wonder Woman was way better than Suicide Squad & Batman vs Superman in my opinion, but as for Pirates of Caribbean movie? i knew it wasn't going to be any good.
phantomrequim hell yeah dude
yeah thats true..... but that's also not saying much. They were bottom of the barrel already so to say it was better than that isn't much of an accomplishment.
I agree. But Guardians and Spiderman was good.
Wonder Woman and Annabelle Creation were good. Everything else....meh.
No. Other things were better than those two films.
Last year's summer was much worse
Agree to disagree.
Would you consider Baby Driver an Epic Masterpiece or One Heckuva Film?
You saw rough night and not girls trip? It seems weird you'd see one and not the other considering they have the same premise but one is well reviewed and the other isnt
This dude hate Atomic Blonde and Detroit? Wow....
Maurice Fleshman Atomic Blonde was shit to me.
There has been a weak year especially for animation.
No you totally missed the point of Dunkirk
Anthony Jordan agreed
Anthony Jordan THANK GOD ANOTHER ONE THAT HATES THAT BULLSHIT
Kurtliffe wow,-
Honestly I thought last years summer movie season was far more disappointing. As I only liked 2 movies that came out that summer. They were Captain America Civil War and Hell or Highwater. Here I can say I liked at least 5 or 6 films this summer. I did also find Baby Driver a bit overrated.
My Thoughts on the movies that came out this summer
GOTG2: Really Good, not as good as the first though
King Arthur: Underrated, thought it was fun
Snatched: An Unfunny Amy Schumer comedy where the leads are the 2 worst characters in the film
Alien Covenant: Underrated, Thought it was exciting enough that I enjoyed it
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 4: Piece Of Shit
Everything Everything: Piece Of Shit, better than Long Haul though
Baywatch: It was OK
Pirates 5, Underrated, thought it was fun, better than the previous film
Wonder Woman: Really Good, not as great as everyone makes it out to be
Captain Underpants: Good animated film that was better than I expected
The Mummy: It was Ok, but tried to hard to set up the Dark Universe than focus on one story
It Comes At Night: Good, but was way to pretentious with no answers to anything that left me somewhat unsatisfied
Megan Leavey: Good war film with a heart
Cars 3: Underrated, way better than Card 2 and gave a satisfying final chapter to Lighting McQueen
Rough Night: Underrated, thought it was funny
All Eyez On Me: A PIECE OF SHIT THAT DISRESPECTS A IMPORTANT PERSON FOR DRAMA
47 Meters Down: Good Shark Flick
Transformers 5: The same piece of shit we've gotten since Transformers 2
Baby Driver: Fantastic, best film of the summer
Despicable Me 3: Ok, wasn't as good as the previous films but better than Minions
The House: A piece of shit comedy like Snatched where the 2 leads are the worst characters and Jeremy Renner is wasted in the final act
Spider Man Homecoming: Really Good, not as good as Spider Man 1-2 or GOTG2, but is fun and refreshing
War For The Planet Of The Apes: Really Good, but not as good as everyone makes it out to be
Wish Upon: THE WORST FILM IVE SEEN THIS YEAR!!!!
The Big Sick: A heart warming comedy with great performances
Dunkirk: I loved it, it was brutal and terrifying
Valerian: Haven't seen it
Girls Trip: It was funny, but I liked Rough Night better
Atomic Blonde: Good, but was too convoluted
The Emoji Movie: The poop emoji describes it perfectly
The Dark Tower: Underrated, really liked it with its fast pace and good performances
Detroit: A brutal film scarier than any horror film I've seen this year even the good ones
Kidnap: Haven't seen it
Annabelle Creation: Better than the first film, but not as good as Conjuring 1-2, but still creepy and effective
Glass Castle: Haven't seen it
Nut Job 2: Bad animated film that relies on fart jokes to be funny
Hitman's Bodyguard: Good but flawed, but the 2 leads make it fun
Logan Lucky: A fun end of the summer heist film with great performances
Birth Of The Dragon: Haven't seen it
Leap!: Meh
All Saints: Haven't seen it
And I'm not counting any Netflix stuff only wide releases theatrical films but there ya go
Logan Lucky is actually good
good to hear, hope to see it :)
I rather enjoyed Spider Man Homecoming
David Timmer Tom Holland was surprisingly better than Toby Maguire and ten times better than Andrew Garfield
David Timmer It's one of my favorites of the year.
nothing wrong with that :)
Thanks, Tony. I'm still excited for Wreck-It Ralph 2, and Hopefully, Hopefully, they give Sora from Kingdom Hearts a cameo, or if he does have a major part in the film, I'd be SUPER ecstatic
Am I the only one that fucking hates Cars? (ALL Films)
can't say I do. I never watched Cars 2 and 3 cuz I didn't like the first film lol
モモアリア MomoAria lol don't watch them those movies suck ass
Why would I watch Cars 2 if I didn't like Cars 1? lmao
モモアリア MomoAria Mk
L Lawliet You're Not The Only One
BlackCriticguy in 2018 Wreak it Ralph 2 come to theaters
cant wait!!!!
Yeah. Me either. PLEASE give Sora from Kingdom Hearts a cameo.
But Tony I loved homecoming 😔
Great video, Tony! Baby Driver Remarkable? I agree completely, That movie was amazing, First movie I went to see at a Theater in over 5 years.... The Way the soundtrack worked with the gunshots and choreography, paired with the stunts and action.... It was just... a wonderful experience and One I hope gets a Sequel if possible, but if not... that's just as fine. Great job overall!
You should do this every summer season from now on, Tony. This was very entertaining.
Well I still like Spider-Man Homecoming. Still respect ya Tony😉
8:32-8:43 The Worst Movie I've seen all year
i loved spiderman homecoming
Same here! It and WONDER WOMAN were the best films this summer!
Spalex,me to
Tony, Spider-Man: Homecoming is a Marvel Studios production with Sony distributing it. It's more Marvel Studios than it is Sony, and I recommend it.
He's seen it. He's reviewed it.
you saw that film and said "yeah feels like Marvel Studios?" sorry but i disagree. it felt like another Sony Spider-Man with the Marvel Studios paint job. it does EVERYTHING the previous Spider-man films were guilty for
BlackCriticGuy All the Homecoming trailers Looked that way to me and after all the Sony Spider-Man reboots and re-boots of the re-boots Zzzzzzz will not be watching Homecoming.
Lets pray for the movie IT to be good this September.
Early reviews say it's fantastic.
fingers crossed
I personally did love Dunkirk, but I do understand why you didn't like it. The point of this film was to focus more about the events surrounding the situation and less about the characters that go through it, which while I'm fine with, is aware that turned off many people.
As for summer movies, I didn't see that many, but here's what I saw so far (mostly foreign films):
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.
Dunkirk - a tension-filled, harrowing and nail-biting WW2 epic that does a magnificent job at showcasing the terrors during the Dunkirk evacuation and pulling the audience into the situation (although I loved this movie, I could see why others were bothered by the lack of character development)
In This Corner of the World - the pacing could have been slightly tighter, but still an impactful anime film with a few haunting moments.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 made Rocket an idiot and the third act gets pretty rediculous.
Well, at least the anime mostly rocked this season, İ hope it continues to impress this Fall.
Turkisch Van A.K.A Turkisch Raven Fall and Winter movies are usually Oscar worthy films.
İ hope you're right.
I like Spider-Man homecoming.
For me I am glad I avoided movies that I wouldn't want to watch (Transformers 5 & Emoji "Movie") but I missed out on some movies that I wanted to see:
1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Fun & Entertaining but Weak Story
2. Wonder Woman - Story was kind of Dull but I loved it
3. WarPlanetApes - I loved it heck my Family loved it just wish it was more of a War though
Was that sarcasm on the spider man homecoming part?
Do you have anger issues?
Wonder Woman is personally my favorite summer movie of 2017! This is my OWN opinion. I really like the story and the actress who play Wonder Woman did an amazing job as the main character!
Joshua Martinez agreed
I agree with most of your opinion on the movie. I however, don't agree with you on the third act.
Detroit was awesome. WTF!
I love the Lil music on the transaction
my reaction to every live action adaptation of an anime:
*WHEN TF WILL THEY LEARN THE FACT THAT ANIME ARE TO GOOD FOR LIVE ACTION???*
