marketing is the most appealing business for me. you're not stuck in a cubical and you get to travel and go to events. im in senior year of high school and if anyone can give advise or share their path that would be a lot of help :)
Cheers for this, I been tryin to find out about "social media job postings" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Tanathan Hyperstorm Social - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my neighbour got excellent results with it.
Wow, this video is what I have been looking for for the longest time! Finally an insider's look into this growing industry. Thank you so much for sharing, this was a lot of help for me in learning more about what this type of job entails and I am even more intrigued. I definitely want to get kickstarted in this industry, but not exactly sure how or where to start, but your videos are a huge help! you will! that is the perfect place to start and get tons of experience. you can bring that to a bigger company later on :)

Career goals!!! I am also in the marketing/advertising industry and currently trying to transition into the cosmetic industry for marketing and working with the influencer scene. I’m from the Bay Ares as well so I have been applying for jobs at Benefit, Sephora, Kendo, etc. I can’t tell you how much your videos have seriously helped/inspired me throughout this process ! Thank you so much for sharing this video! I was really curious about what a social media manager does and how it works and it seems that I have done some of this in the past but did not realize it. I worked with a school club entrepreneurial organization where I would post our event pictures to our Facebook group and always be taking videos and pictures everything we did as well as being at tables for events when we would recruit. This is really helped me understand this position more and you look like you had so much fun! Once again thank you for that! We appreciate it :-)

Hi! I’m thinking of switching my major or marketing or advertising with a minor in digital technology. Would marketing or advertising be a better option to become a brand manager or social media manager?
Kathryn Warren depending on where you go to school you could major in either and get either job. Advertising is more creative. Marketing is more numbers oriented. I love advertising bc I’m a
creative person. I was on track to go into marketing bc I took classes in high school but once I got to college I changed my mind and I’m glad I did. I would not have been happy in marketing.

I think you most likely have to go to college to obtain a job position like this. I studied Public Relations and Marketing so that may help you get a job like this in the future if you study those fields and sometimes landing these big company positions most likely comes from connections. So always try to do your opportunity of networking!!! And also don’t forget to intern. It goes a long way, trust me.

Communication is largely different from social media major. Just to let you know... I took both majors actually! And while I enjoyed communication more! It was almost completely disregard as far as jobs. My degree in social media as well as minor in financing was greatly useful

Hey Cayla! I worked for the company for 3 years and then moved to Texas so they allowed me to go remote. I recommend starting with a company where you live and if you ever want to move, you have a Chance of going remote!
@@JuliaHunterHavens Hey Julia! Thanks for the advice. It's not many companies in Louisiana that does luxury PR or works with fashion or beauty clients, its mainly energy and healthcare. But I'm definitely trying to gain some experience doing social media.

What programs do you recommend for scheduling posts? Any other holy grail or helpful programs you use as a social media manager? I've just started working as a social media manager as well, its the best!
Can you make a video how you make a plan for month or year how you choose topics and how you plan posts each day and is that even how its done?

Hey Julia ! I was wondering if you would say being a social media manager is pretty close to being a social media coordinator? Or if you think they are more different ?
Madison Brown they’re relatively the same but social media coordinator is usually the start to the marketing/advertising industry.

@@kimberlymawi Just talk to smaller type companies and look at their feeds and come up with a proposal to send to them showing what you would like to do for them.

With a social media manager position is there a line between work and personal social media? Like are you allowed to repost your own post from your page or post relevant content of your own on Sephora's social media? Or is there like a contract that prohibits you from doing that

I still have to post on my days off, there’s no one else to do it but I’ll still schedule them out to remind myself!

hey! I'm on a salary so I get paid on a normal pay rate schedule. Go on linkedin and you can see average salaries for SMM and base it off of the market rate combined with your experience. thats how i did it!
