Another way to get people to say yes instead of no is to offer them 2 choices, where the first is more unappealing, and the 2nd one is the one that you want them to agree to. People are less inclined to say no and since there's a choice they are more likely to select the easier option instead of saying no.

Something I've done to both get to know someone better and get them to like me a little more is I try and center the conversation around them. I ask about them, how their day was, what their favorite movie is, what they've been up to, their hobbies, passions, job, etc. People like talking about themsevles and are more inclined to people who let them talk about themselves.

I like to say the person's name in written or in person communication more than once as it gives them comfort to discuss more with you or in the midst of a serious conversation you could slightly change your tone or pronunciate a word in a "humorous" manner. I found that it lightens the mood and you may see a giggle. That being said, I look for nonverbal cues initially to see if maybe I could put someone at ease.

I learned something funny from a tv show once way back. I had a boss who kept giving me extra stuff to do that wasn’t my job and I didn’t have the self-worth to stand up for myself when I was overwhelmed (and noticed the person who’s job it was to do the tasks was typically lazy). Anyhow, all you do is walk around the office looking frustrated, shaking a piece of paper, while making exasperated noises. I swear it worked. I had a good laugh about that one.

    👍Be confident.
When you first meet someone, make note of their eye color.
    Match body language.
Use a person's name right away.
    Pretend you feel comfortable.
    Notice people's feet.
Stay silent and see what else they say.

Ik this one psychological trick ... ' If you want more information. Just stare blankly at them at do not say anything'. This creates an awkward silence and the person will tend to speak more to break that awkward silence.

I tried the first trick today.. I spoke up against the body shaming that goes on in my extended family and I think I won the argument. They couldn't speak against me.. but later my mom gave me the 'omg why are you so rude' card.. my sister told me to stop being so 'hyper'.. so.. my frustrations are just me being hyper and rude according to my family..
    I ultimately lost.. again..

I've found when somone walks into a room I say hello and their name so " hi psi" smile and compliment or start a conversation and then go do what you and to and come back to them.
I'm slowly trying to change my friendship groups and I'm getting on well with a group of girls in my class. So when I walk in the mourning I let them know I've noticed them and am being genuine. I know that I love it when people say hello to me and say my name and definitely love being complemented, being nice outs others in a good mood they associate with you. People I knew before this say they dont like me very much and that I'm annoying but people I've tried this with say I'm kind and fun to be around

Thank God it gives me a relief , I was always giving options to people in my life making them aware of what they can choose ,
I thought I was manipulating them in thinking that I am actually good...
This definitely gives me a relief that I'm actually not manipulating them into doing something in my favour .

Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, favour, and recall information in a way that confirms or supports one's prior beliefs or values. It is an important type of cognitive bias that has a significant effect on the proper functioning of society by distorting evidence-based decision-making.❤️

"Want to win an argument? Speak faster."
I've done this once. My friends were trash talking Korea's beauty standards. I was just quietly listening but then I couldn't take it any longer, so I opened my mouth and said with a fast and clear voice, "Why judge their beauty standard? They don't judge yours."
Almost immediately, the room fell quiet and all of them said nothing.
P.s. we're Filipinos so they were talking in tagalog then I spoke in english. Because they couldn't come up with a comeback in english so they just shut up haha.
