I wish I lived in Dallas so I could attend this church and be a part of this congregation where proper worship of God almighty is taking place! Is there a church in lower Michigan that uses Shane and Shane Hymns in their worship service? If there is I would love to know so I could be apart of these hymns magnifying God almighty humbly truthfully in spirit and glory to God... In the meantime i will listen and sing from from home car or wherever i can connect by the internet. Thank you Watermark and Shane and Shane for the wonderful worship music! I am truly grateful and praise God for this!
I wish you would change the word Reckless Love to Relentless love. Because His love is not Reckless! To say His love is Reckless is to say God is Reckless because God is Love! Love exists because of God. His love is unchanging because God is unchanging. His love is eternal because God is eternal. His love is unfathomable because He is unfathomable. To say God's love is Reckless is to say God is reckless. His love is not Reckless because even though when we were sinners, He chose to die for us. That's not a reckless love. That's a love that was planned out even in the Old Testament! But anyway God bless you guys. Love your music as always!
We agree with you in this sense. We understand that the word reckless can be confusing. We agree that His love is not reckless, but that it can SEEM or FEEL reckless at times in the way that He pursues...kicking down walls, lighting up shadows, climbing up mountains...doing whatever it takes to get our attention and reveal His nature to us. We point to the bridge of this song as a depiction of that kind of love.
Thanks a lot for the reply. I see where you're coming from. What I would say to that is, even though we FEEL something it doesn't make it necessarily true. There is an ultimate standard of truth and that's the word of God. Which is why we have to worship in Spirit and in TRUTH (Word of God). Besides, worship should be to edify God and not us. It's supposed to be pleasing God. And I don't think us feeling like His love is Reckless is pleasing to God. Because even though it may seem like that, we don't define the truth. Word of God does. And He planned it all along even before the foundations of the Earth. So it's not a reckless love.
We are in agreement, brother. We understand that writers take poetic license sometimes and it can lead to confusion. Glad you are running hard after The Word and for truth! Blessings.
Interesting discussion. I like to refer to the parable of the Prodigal Son. Luke 15:20 (NLT) "So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him." Think of the point of view of all who would have seen this. The son's father did not elevate himself above his son (as he would have the right) and wait for his son to come to him. He started running to him as if he could not wait even one minute more to share his love for his child. And running? Men of those days wore robes with no underwear. So here you have a father hiking up his robe so he could run to greet his son. Does the imagery remind you of someone else? David perhaps while dancing as the arc was carried? Then he embraced his son - a son who had been working and sleeping and eating with pigs, who would not have been physically nor ceremonially clean from such an act. But his father embraced him AND kissed him anyway. So the outside observer watching the events take place - and the people for whom the parable was told - would experience a man lowering his stature, running with his manhood exposed, then embracing and kissing an unclean person smelling like pigs of all things. That would definitely be seen as a very reckless expression of love. I feel you want the word "reckless" to be changed to "relentless" because you have already accepted Christ as your Savior and have a good understanding of the Good News and God's purpose for your life. God bless you for that! However, I believe that a lot of worship songs are written in a manner that invites people outside our faith to experience that same love of God our Father. To people new to faith, such expressions of love is definitely viewed as reckless! And God may say to that YES, and watch me do it again! Look up Prodigal in the dictionary. One definition is "Recklessly Extravagant". In either a message from The Porch or from Breakaway Ministries (it's been over a year since I heard it), I was first introduced to the question, "Who was really prodigal in that parable, the son or the father?" Going against so many cultural norms simply to express his true love for his son, it was the Father who was truly prodigal, it was the Father who was recklessly extravagant in his love. And it is God our Father who continues to be Reckless in his love for us, not caring at all for the cultural norms we define in our world. Nothing will separate us from his love - that is a radical statement to make! Yes, very relentless, but thankfully very reckless! God bless you, Roshin! I pray your faith impacts the people God places in your path!

Drums in Who You Say I Am are way way over the top. The ride sounds awful smashed like that constantly.
