    Firstly, I did watch the purple coaster video and hit like. Was tired and meant to add a comment the following morning. Combination of forgetting and lots of other stuff happening. Sorry!! The purple coasters are glorious 😍😍. Love that glitter coaster too😍.
    The top coating video will definitely help beginners to learn 😀. And, as you have already said practice and practise and then practice some more😁. I do my top coats the same ways as you although when I flood coat I tend to be a bit more overly generous with the resin - bad habit! I do scrape it up and reuse as much as I can. Or I leave it in situ and add things to it like glitters, crystals, micas, etc. Once cured I can use it in another project 😀

    Just what I needed! I found an matte alphabet ice mould and want to create keychains with them. I think the rubbing technique will do wonders for the finish! I just have to find a store that has a suitable mask in stock. All are sold out due to the pandemic and I don't have access to my usual resin "studio", aka outdoors during the summer....

      ahhh Mizz .. Hello and thank you, Claire for this very informative and thorough video, really appreciate it. Curious, would you use the rubbing method for the edges of a raised tray? For instance, say a rolling tray or any tray with a raised edge/lip, would I pour a layer of resin in the middle of the tray and pull to the edges? For the raised part of the edges, would I just leave it or continue pulling the resin up and over the edges with my fingers/stick? Thanks so much!

    Hi Claire! I have a coaster that I sanded a bit to remove some imperfections on either side, its got a squiggly outer edge design, but it's 90 degrees but I need to do both sides, would the rub on technique be best or just straight pouring it on?

    • @ClairesCraftyCorner
      @ClairesCraftyCorner  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      heyyyy lovely - I would use masking tape for the base and do a top coat not a rub on no. If the coaster is see through I would then repeat that process on the other side. If the coaster is not see through -- I would not do a layer of resin on base. I would simple use a self adhesive cork base.

    I find sanding helps stop the resin from pulling back when you have a bit too little ! it makes a grippy surface. but otherwise yeah it's not really needed.

      Ahhhhh see ... that makes absolute sense to me ! I never did get it ... when people said it was to help it stick x but I would actually sand for that if I needed to xx sometimes top coating can be annoying x

      It might be an issue with the level surface or speed at which you poured x
      My surfaces are very rarely level .. so I always get some spill off x
