- The Apostle Paul was awaiting the day of his execution. Being held prisoner in a hole in the ground (Mamertine Prison), he says to his dear friend Timothy, "Make every effort to come before winter" (2 Tim. 4:21). One can only imagine the emotions Paul was wrestling with during those days: physically cold, and mostly alone. When Timothy received this Letter, what emotions did he wrestle with? We are creatures with emotions. That's the way God (our Creator) made us. This introduction to the NewTestament Book of 2 Timothy considers one of the emotions many of us struggle with at times, and how we can be helped by resting in the Sovereignty of God!
