That guide was very informative. A lot of tourists take these events on their own. It's cheaper, sure, but you don't get any of the information. It's the historical info that makes it interesting for me

Agreed she was able to get us from one location to the next and we didn’t miss any or the ceremony that goes along with this event.

Your tour guide made the point that the Foot Guards are front line troops, but I'm not sure if she made the point that the Horse Guards are too. Both cavalry regiments deploy as light armoured reconnaissance units, the second cavalry troop in your clip was of the "Blues and Royals", singer/song writer James Blunt was an officer for several years in the Blues and Royals, including deployment to the Balkan war in the 1990s, he took his guitar with him, as there is very little room in a Scimitar light tank, his crew gave him a choice, they would either strap him or his guitar to the outside of the tank! During the Falklands War a Scimitar from the Blues and Royals became the only tank to ever shoot down a jet fighter, and in Afghanistan a member of the Blues and Royals recorded the longest sniper shot at the time, since been out-ranged by other Canadian and Australian soldiers, but he still remains at No4, and is the only man in the top ten not using a .50 rifle or a member of a special forces unit.

Wow great information on the Royal Guards we realize on this trip that 5 days in London was not enough especially because there is so much of the rest of the UK that we missed. Thanks for watching and commenting it’s really appreciated.
