Like I look at some of your splits and I feel like I have to get a good enough time to be able to PB, as in, something like that 1:36 Tekton would be worth resetting (I would take a 1:10 or below). Maybe the sub 8 Olm is the main reason?
on my absolute worst rng runs (2 anvil tek, 0 ralos ice, slow vangs, slow vesp, 2 crystal vasa, missing zgs at mutt, missing specs @ olm) they end up landing around the 30-31min mark. these runs are pretty uncommon. a very average run is around the 28 minute mark. a run with decent, but not amazing, rng pushes sub 27 which i've had a bunch of. i believe sub 26 is definitely possible with amazing rng, which is what i'm going for passively on these chill/consistent thrall camps. i think if you have max gear and you're thrall camping, sub 27 shouldn't be exceedingly rare to encounter and you're probably making mistakes somewhere if you haven't seen one in 100+ raids. all of this changes if you're actually speedrunning with harm+sbs, zcb, extra mage switches, etc.

It's honestly not that worth on paper since you're taking 100% more damage from olm in exchange for doing like 6% more DPS or something compared to 3:1 lol but it's more engaging than 3:1 and better if you don't die

congrats on the improvement! if you miss on small, just re-spec it. it's significantly better to bruteforce through killing big mutt than small mutt. it's around a 3% chance of missing both specs on small. the chances of hitting both specs on big & small is about 55%. so almost half the time you're gonna end up bruteforcing the big kill, in which case you just spam brew->twisted and if it comes down to it, tickeat with sweets until it eventually dies. overall, chopping is definitely better than zgsing for consistency, but the potential timesave from zgsing becomes important when pushing for a pb below the ~26:30 threshold or so

@@douglasyandeau4073 "brute forcing it" meaning kill the big mutta even when it goes for tree heal. u just tick eat if u have sweets if not chug all the brews u got. its important to kill the small mutta with freeze. but if u miss both freezes with zgs and u have max bis gear its kinda doomed. but not if u have sweets to tick eat with. i think chopping is better for consistency. zgs is prob mostly only for speed runs. wouldnt rely on it if ur hunting dust as the death chances are high and can impact the dust and purple chance

the method is called world scythe and, as you said, the idea is to only skip portals (and healing on p3) while missing 0 ticks on your scythe (i messed it up once at 23:09). it's not like 4:1 where you "set it up", rather you just start swinging and depending on how your attacks line up with olm's attacks, there are different ways to skip portals without missing ticks. the core concept is that when your scythe swings either the same tick or 1 tick after olms actions from lightning onwards, you turn him middle. i remember the skips based on my scythe swing relative to when lightning happens: - scythe is same tick as lightning or 1t after lightning -> instantly turn head mid, tank 2 autos, turn head back to melee hand to skip portals - scythe is 2t after lightning -> scythe 2 more times, turn head mid to skip portals - scythe is 3t after lightning -> scythe 1 more time, turn head mid to skip portals - scythe is 4t after lightning (aka same tick as olms next auto) -> instantly turn head mid, tank 1 auto, turn head back to melee hand to skip portals the most challenging part of world scythe is dealing with acid/flame wall as well as dealing with lightning which can often make doing the skips more difficult
@@Fritszol definitely after. world scythe requires a much more robust understanding of olm, attack cooldowns, drags, etc. 4:1 is kind of "scripted" in the sense that once you're in cycle, you're doing the exact same thing every 4 hits for the rest of the phase. there are only so many things that can happen and you can easily anticipate them (e.g. dodging/nulling flame wall the same way every time, memorising an acid walk to repeat every time, etc.). a lot of world scythe is being able to adapt in the moment to different scenarios without missing ticks or failing the portal skip. benefits: - if done correctly, it's the best dps you can possibly do to the melee hand - don't need to bring a lance as an extra item specifically for olm downsides: - you take about 2x more damage compared to 4:1 - if you're consistently losing ticks or brewing down, it can actually be worse dps than 4:1 - it's significantly harder

shadow is very good at mystics compared to tbow. i believe you need salve AND extra ranged switches to make tbow better
