Digong should be questioned in the Senate, and laws should be enacted to prohibit secret deals in aid of legislation. He may have held titles as a lawyer and a former leader, but they merely were just titles. The country didn’t benefit from his roles when needed the most, rendering his titles practically useless. It’s similar to saying “Giving a lawyer a title without skills is like putting a crown on a scarecrow.”
isn't a gentleman's agreement just an agreement between 2 individuals? worse, it's not even on paper, meaning there is no proof of the agreement. Duterte can still uphold his part of his agreement. The problem is, he is no longer president of the Philippines, and thus has no power to properly do so. I think because of that, any agreement made by President Xi Jinping, and FORMER President Duterte is already null and void.

In my own understanding Gov. Dimaporo emphasize that there is no formal or written agreement between former president Duterte and Pres Xi, so there is no written documents. There is a saying that "If it is not written it did not happen".

If a person in authority pledged to protect the people who placed him in a postion of power, he has the responsibility to look after THEIR best interest and not his. A probe is necessary. How do we know if there really was an agreement? There must be at least a piece of paper which states what were that for; specifics, duration, conditions (if any), details of the agreement.

Ex. fishing in an area, state A says that they can fish in specific area bec. its theirs, but state B says No, because in the months that you've been fishing in this area, you've never fished in the part that you're claiming bec. its ours.
