I saw a video that they called it putting the house to bed. It included putting toys away with her kids and also for herself cleaning the kitchen and making it fresh and ready for the morning. I think it was Elliot Homestead. My kids are grown and out of the house but I love this thought of putting the house to bed. It’s relaxing and I sleep better. Hope this inspires. I love your videos and your energy! Thank you! Love your mom and your adorable family!!! God Bless!

One more thing, my kids used to watch Barney. He had a jingle called clean up, clean up, everybody do your share. We would start singing it while cleaning up together, and it worked great! Give it a try. 🤞

Hi, great video . I am one of the moms who had my kids over 25 years ago. Having the toys go in the garbage if they are not picked up could lead to hoarding tendencies later in life . One idea is that the toy can go in toy time out for a period of time. Toy time out would be a place where your kids could see the toy but can not get it. That way, they will see what they are missing out on.

I too like to tidy up as much as I can during the day, as a SAHM that also works at home, and homeschooling, it is hard to maintain the house during the week. But if I make sure I go to bed with a tidy house, it makes the rest of the day run smoothly. Also, I love that you also are using the “if it’s still on the floor, it goes to the trash” method, I remember messaging you about that. So now, my 5 & 6 year old are in charge of picking up their own toys, this mama doesn’t have to do it anymore. 😅 I love all of your videos, no matter what stage in life, I am here for it. ❤

Yes Sharra...!! I did the same thing with my kids on the toys. They didn't believe I would actually throw them away...lol. Then they saw me do it and believed me. My one piece of advice, after raising my 2 kids, is when you say something that you're going to do something...DO IT. Don't backtrack or give in. Kids actually get comfort from boundaries. You are such a sweet mom...❤

My tip for my clean house is that I’m just constantly cleaning 😭 as soon as I notice things are starting to look messy I do a quick 5-10 minute tidy, usually several times a day. And always a tidy after breakfast and before bed.

I have a 2 and a half year old and a 14 month old. I am honestly constantly cleaning. I like to just relax when my babies are napping or in bed for the night so I just keep up the house as I go. When they finally go to bed I have about 5 minutes of cleaning left and I am done for the day! I usually clean up in small 5 to 10 minute increments throughout the day, usually when they are preoccupied by playing outside (in the backyard where I can watch them), watching a movie, eating a snack, or playing with my husband. I feel like if I am able to relax during my downtime I have the energy to keep things up and to play with them and be present as well ❤

When my girls were younger, I told them, if you don’t clean up your rooms I will take a trash bag and fill it with everything on the floor and give it to the garbage man’s daughter. I put it in the garage for a while and if they did not miss it, I could get rid of it. We always tend to get to many things for our children😊 nice to follow the family ❤️ love from Denmark 🇩🇰

I got a toy cotbed which all my daughter’s teddies fit into, so before bed she knows she has to tuck them all up in bed. I have also learnt not to put all the puzzles within access at one time, but to rotate access and prevent them all being tipped out in a big pile that takes me so long to put away 😅

My daughter made up a sing-songy tune that goes to the phrase, "Clean up, Clean up." When it's time to pick up toys or other stuff, the kids sing the Clean up song. Her Littles are 2 and 4 and they sing it all the time. It seems to be a big motivator to have them help.

Children just want you. They don't care about how much stuff they have. My daughter, 33, talks about things we did, not what she had. My tip is to limit the things, the toys. I would put a few things in a basket for her to play with, and at the end of the night, we took her by the hand and put everything in the basket. As she got a little older, we would tell her that if she did not put her things away they were going to given away, and then we followed through with it. Parents today create problems for themselves by trying to buy their children the world, when they only need a few things. Give them the paper towel rolls, an empty box, etc. Most of all, give them you, love and a happy envirnment.

    1. Do clean something everyday- stay on top of it however no guilt if you don't get to it
    2. Have less- less to take care of and it frees up time
    3. Let them get one thing out at a time not All at one time
    4. Enjoy your children 😊
Free play doesn't mean being free to turn a room upside down 😊😊😊❤

Another good technique to get your kids to pick up is count from 1 to 10 or 1 to 20 and have them race to pick up the things before you get to that number. They love competing. I did this with my boys all the time. They would quickly try to see who could get more toys put away before I got to number 20. The plus is, you teach them to count too! 😂

  • @jenyhomestuff

First, 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 you're doing great, they need to put their toys away. Shara, I work in a daycare, by 18 months or earlier, they know where everything goes, they will put it away, not only that, if they see a toy in the wrong container, they'll grabbed and put where its belongs. We have a picture with the name of the toy, on the shelf, and onto the container, if better if you download the picture from Internet, they are perfect. Also, by 18 months, they know how to drink from a regular cup. We do family style dinning, we help them how to serves themselves, pour their milk, scrape their plates, put it in the dirty bin, wash hands. Of course, dishes like pitchers, cups utensils, servings spoons, tongs, trash can to where they scrape their plates; all of that is child's size. Try it, they'll love it!! This advice if for everyone that applies. But be consistent, very important 😉❤️

TABLESPOONS - Eating with them solved many problems as s young Mom! 1. Safe. If the baby grabs them while you were holding them and trying to eat there is less chance of them getting hurt from the utensil 2) They were great as pseudo-knives to cut portions of food to bite-size pieces 3) obviously you can shovel in more food quicker, which does help with the limited time young moms have to eat. 😄

My son is now 51!!!!! Yes 51!!! When he was little , after constant cleaning up after him... we made a plan. I told him anything left out when he went to bed, I was going to donate it. So, as the donation basket got more and more stuff... he started asking where his things were. I asked him where did you leave it? After a month, he finally started crying , so I brought in the basket with all his things. Then I said now every night I will tell you 15 minutes before bed its time to clean up... and you get a do over . But this time anything left out is really going . Well, you should have seen the fur fly after that. By the time he went to bed, there was nit a toy in sight. Problem solved. As for the vacuum robot... I don't own one... so when I was visiting my son, at age 73 , I almost broke my neck 3 times turning around and tripping on that darn thing! But what an invention!

I have so much to say so please of course take everything with a grain of salt and lots of love 🫶🏼 I don’t have much to brag about with my little people but I do think we have mastered the end of day playroom cleaning up! I have a 7 year old (which surprisingly is not helpful) a (head strong) 3.5 year old and a 1 year old. With little people (like yours) I like to pull it all in a big pile and then either go by color or by bucket, some kids like certain things so depending on your kids but my older son likes to go by letter or number for example all the toys that start with “s” or 2 toys at a time. Our toys are all very organized but simple so the older boys know where things go and I have to not be picky. With people younger than say 3, who are learning to clean up I will have them a toy and point to where it goes and encourage them, same with my 1 year old and it gets them to clean up. We are also a huge fan of clean up songs, specifically “swab the deck” from Danny go! I advise to listen to it and not watch the video because kids will watch and not clean them well reward the clean room with one of his other fun songs that give directions. Hoping these tips help! The biggest reason I wanted to comment is to highly advice to NOT encourage racing or any kind of competition, some kids handle it just fine but for most kids it creates an animosity against siblings and the number one thing to avoid between siblings is ANY kind of competition. You want them to be a team, so you can race them together against you but you always want to teach them that they are a team, and not necessarily that you aren’t but kids don’t look as adults as competition so it’s not damaging the way it is between them. Sorry this is long and rambling, I have so many opinions on this topic. In other words, I love this kind of content and am here for it!!! ‼️🫶🏼
