In this video, we're going to take a look at Apple's official refurbished phones and compare them to our very own reboxed® to see if you can tell the difference.
With the cost of living rising and inflation, a used phone could save you up to 40% off the cost of a new one. So what's the difference between an Apple refurb and a reboxed® refurbished? Let's dive into the Apple site and see how they explain it. So Apple state that you will receive a refurbished iPhone with genuine Apple replacement parts as needed that has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Every device will come with all accessories, cables and operating systems.
All Apple certified refurbished products are packaged in a brand new white box and will be sent to you with free shipping and returns.
Apple back their quality commitment by including a one year warranty as standard and you also have the option of getting the AppleCare as well and service and support is there included up to 90 days. So if we take this at face value, what Apple is saying is that you're going to get a new phone 100% replaced and all the parts are going to be working and functioning as you expect, as if you were buying a new one.
So at reboxed®, we sell three grades of phones. We sell Premium, Great and Fair. Our Premium phones are typically either fully refurbished or are something like a 14 day returns, like an open box that's been returned back to Apple. Our 70 point check combines automated diagnostics to check the whole inside of your phone by running automated tests. And we also do an in-depth cosmetic inspection as part of the premium phones will typically be as good as new and you barely even see any marks. Those phones will typically be up to 20-30% off.
So a much bigger saving than Apple. Here we have the Apple refurbished iPhone 11 pro max. So this is quite a thick box. I didn't expect the box to be this thick on the refurb. You got Apple certified pre-owned. In the box you've got the usual stuff that Apple send, actually got a usb-c charger with this one, which is pretty good and some wired headphones.
So this is the reboxed® unboxing experience. So this is the mailer box that we send out in here is our iPhone box. We have some sweets and a booklet in there. So with a reboxed® phone we'll put a tech check sticker over it so the person who has tested it, signed it and sealed it, will sign it off here. Inside will have a cable and a polishing cloth, TechCheck® booklet which will let you know what tests it's been tested for and signed off with your IMEI number. Pristine condition, no marks on the screen, no marks around the outside.
And I would go as far as saying that there is no difference whatsoever between this reboxed® iPhone 11 Pro Max and the Apple one. So we paid £699 for the refurbished iPhone 11 Pro Max 64gb space grey. The original price, the new price would have been £1022.
So if we dive into the reboxed® site, the same condition Premium iPhone 11 Pro Max on reboxed® was £420 when we bought it and that is a saving of £602. So the Apple refurbished iPhone was a saving of £323, which was 30%. The reboxed® iPhone was £602, which was a saving of 58%. So you've seen them?
