Welcome! my friend! About MIG-21, although I don't have experience enough to choose colors, I would follow instructions in order. While building this one, I'm very satisfied with this excellent parts for assembly and a kind instruction even small parts in there. I would try to complete it perfectly even though maybe made I a few mistakes. Thank you for the tips. I'll do my best.
Wow. The Phantom is my alltime favourite fighter of the jet age. (Closely followed by Tornado and Saab Draken). You have brought this wonderful aircraft to life with so much precision. Tornado and Draken have unique external structures, so I plan to make them when I get the chance. I plan to continue introducing various Phantoms in the future. With deep inspiration from Salvador Dali's exhibition, I want to emphasize detailed expressions. I'm worried because it's taking a long time to produce. I want to communicate with my subscribers through frequent videos, but I don't want to make and show them half-heartedly, so I hope you understand. Thank you for your great interest and comments.
Too thick decals were not natural after attaching Catograf decals in this kit. Of course there was a way to solve but I don't want to have much more time to complete and that's not enough to attach much more decals. It would be almost like ugly and many creators on the moon the other side. 😔😔😔
Beautiful model, but the exhaust area looks nothing like a real in-service Phantom. The only Phantoms with the exhaust blast panels that shiny and clean were either fresh off the factory floor and hadn't yet run their engines, or those cleaned up retired Phantoms found in museums. J79 engines at the timeframe that VF-142 was flying them were extremely smokey. The blast panels would have been absolutely black with soot. Since Phantoms have been retired, modelers seem to use cleaned up museum displays for their references, and that's a shame. The models look so nice with great weathering, except the exhaust area is completely unrealistic and makes the models look like toys instead of replicas of the real jets.
Thank you for your advice! As you said, I got the other sample Phantom that has exhaust blast panel on my TH-cam. Enough whethering will make you satisfied completely. This kit was made for clean and new version.
