I just did a review on the Viltrox 20mm f/2.8, which is a great option: th-cam.com/video/V7VRHhugVS0/w-d-xo.html It's true there aren't many affordable, wide angle full-frame choices though.
Also would make for a larger package. I chose this lens because I wanted something pancake-ish to use on a Fuji XE2s so that it can fit into a coat pocket.
Can those lens fit in a Sony nex 5?
Yes, it would work fine with that.
@0:56 it's an example of image circle when taking a video in 16:9 ratio. When taking pictures there is lots of vignetting even in 1:1 crop mode
Yeah, I think this is a lens you'd definitely want to use only on an APS-C body, or APS-C mode in full frame only.
@@andrewsaraceni ikr i was looking for a small/apsc lens to shoot square crop for full frame. And this unfortunately isn't cutting it. Cheers.
@@jojolino1985 The lens in the video I just posted might be a good choice for that, however. 🙂
I'm also looking at the Samyang 24mm f1.8... a different beast of course. Thanks for the review of this one.
No problem Brad! I'd be curious to try the Samyang out as well.
Ive just got the 35mm f1.4 and i love it instantly looking for a wider and something closer to 85mm to make a great manual focus kit 🔥
Thanks Jamie! The 25mm would definitely be a great choice on the wider end.
Well made - but you get what you pay for! Don’t get carried away with expectations….
Agreed, thanks Don.
Great review
Thanks Darren, I appreciate it!
Is anybody aware of an alternative that suits Fullframe sensors? (but does not cost 500+ bucks).

Why not repurpose an older lens, say a Canon FD, with an adaptor for a mirrorless camera. Would'nt that be a cheaper and better quality option?
Probably not much cheaper (or even more money) by the time you buy both, and quality-wise, it all depends on the glass you're adapting.
