    15-20 BBs is not “crippled” that deep in a tournament. Learning how to nurse that stack size and not just blast off is crucial to becoming a good tournament player. That shove with A3 was a perfect example. Totally unnecessary spew, IMO. Great that you ran well early but you could have run much deeper. Patience, waiting for the right spot. 15 BBs is a very workable stack. Watch how the good pros play those stack sizes.

      @@kerrythomas2811 I said this on his previous video. He got extremely lucky on his two tournament wins. After running his stack up to 200k in this tournament, he could have played “smart” and ran even deeper.

      I feel like everyone on the internet reads entirely too much Upswing, and everyone knows the exact GTO way to play every size stack. At the end of the day, a 15 BB stack yields very little room for play, regardless of how good you are. You are gonna need to get lucky. Besides, I think he said he had 10 BB. And there were 3 blinds I believe too. Yes, maybe you can get a little bit better, but the difference is likely pretty miniscule. You're talking about tiny percentage differences. Besides, you can't just ignore how he got that stack. It's a turbo. It's a luck box tournament. You need to run great, and there's really just not THAT much skill. I agree with his approach of high risk, high reward. All the money is at the top.

    That A3 shove at the end is easily a fold. If you are opening, it's a shove. If UTG opens it's a fold. Look at a UTG open range, how does A3 hold up vs that range? Not good at all. He was near the bottom of his range and still have you dominated. 15 bb is not desperation mode, you could have easily folded that hand and found a better situation within the next 10-20 hands dealt. King high on the button or cut off when folded around to you is better than A3 vs an UTG open.

    Don't jam the UTG open with a short stack there, you have little to no fold equity against what should be a stronger range.

  • @datsumcrzysht
    @datsumcrzysht 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The last hand(A,3) you were in the BB correct and not the CO(per graphic)? In those situations toward the end when you’re positive he’s going to call your shove, you’re better off instituting a move (with weak hands) like the “stop and go”. Gives you another chance to win.
    One thing I’ve noticed in all of your tourneys, is you follow the notion of having to shove when around 10-15bb. There’s now more thoughts countering this idea you may want to consider and people like Hellmuth may have the right idea in waiting for more equity to put in the last of your chips. But either way congrats on a great run(those first hour hands had me smh) and hope you keep running hot.

    Your last hand A3 vs 44 is ultimately what you were doing during the “run good” just with the correct statistical outcome. I am big fan of your vlogs, but please understand , that you have to improve your game. Specifically - Your “run good” combined with majority hands in this vid is impossible for any good player, as your were making so many bad decisions… And any good player usually has no more then one or two bad moves per tournament. It is nothing wrong of being lucky, but being good is still necessary to win a tournament

    It’s always nice to run good, but luck runs out. Then you have to fall back on skills and math. Some of the all ins you called off on were -EV over the long run. I’m sure you have better coaches say good or bad, this is just my observation. The spots don’t even out. Your saying ehhh it’s only 9 more BB and I have decent equity against his range when in fact your crushed. So now you lost 11bb then another 2-3-6. They add up over the course of the higher blind levels especially when your eventually going to be at short hand play sooner then later as players bust. Save the chips for better situations? It’s the you can’t rebuy so let me not play crazy? Again enjoy the content, but that hopefully shouldn’t effect your play? I think you could have ran deeper if you had saved some of those chips lost in those spots. Good run and thanks for all your hard work and effort. I know a lot of work goes in. So thank you sir

    It’s like watching the guy at the table who everyone wants at there table because he punts, but he just catches and catches then has the audacity to basically complain about cashing when he caught cards….
    At times it’s really hard to watch because you keep getting rewarded for bad play

      I don't think he cashed. $61,000 looked like first place. Total prize pool was $324K according to the screen.

    Genuinely curious (haven't even watched the video, just the intro), why do you late reg so much? Im ni tournament pro but I feel like when you come in with 20-30 BB you handicap yourself so much and you're paying the same amount as everyone that came in at the start and had more time to build up a stack and see cards.

      It’s not handicapped, it’s all the same from a buy-in perspective

      @@RampagePoker but unless you don't think you have an edge over the field, isn't it always better to give yourself a chance to build your stack early on as opposed to just hoping you can double up a few times playing short-stacked?

    Ethan left the best part of this video out. I was the 10 seat with JJ in the first hand, and after the AJ beats AQ hand the other player leaves the table and we're all laughing at how Ethan's been running and he goes "They should make it tougher for me, give me like A5 against Aces." One orbit passes and the money goes in the middle, the board runs out and we're all quietly dying of laughter inside as the aces packs up and leaves.
