Really enjoyable! Thank you so much for uploading this. Fred was wonderful in this production. And it was all broadcast LIVE! Terrific supporting players, top notch direction and--of course--you can't beat the material (Nunnaly Johnson, E.B. White and James Thurber!). It is a shame that he didn't do more stuff like this on TV. Television generally wasted this great talent, but here he was finally able to shine in a television production.
Robert Costello, AP on this production, was my NYU TV college professor for a semester in the late 80's. Real nice guy. Just passed away at 93 in 2014. He was so proud of his work on this series. He also produced Wally Cox's "Mister Peepers" for NBC.
Mr Peepers available on kinescope on youtube I believe- I have watched a few. Boy did they have cheap sets back then! Man, I wish I was born earlier to have lived in that era
Isn't that the woman who worked at the all girls school back in the 80s? Huddlin was in the Twilight Zone where he gave the bad guy a pair of too tight shoes.

+Lampshade51 I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
James Thurber? Wow!
Three charming and simple stories. Better than most of today’s efforts.
This great man died before his time.

LOL. Great from a show I never heard of before. Thank you for uploading.
Fred missed his calling as one of the great character actors of all time. Who knew?
Surprised no one mentioned Charlotte Rae. And always great to see anything with Fred Allen.
Ms Farrell is Nita Talbot alive at 93 !
Outstanding

Clip-on tie?
Two short plays presented here seems to
have lots of similarities to Rod Serling's works from this era including the future Twilight Zone. .
Charlet Ray just passed away August 2018. R.i.P
Aired four days after I was born
3:27-3:50 Fred Allen was describing today's world perfectly.
balconi71 Read "Treadmill to Oblivion".
That's Ernest Truex with Fred! I remember him in the Twilight Zone in "Kick the Bucket".
Well, I certainly bit on the riddle about the horses. She's right, but I feel cheated, just as Fred did.
That looks like Sandy Becker in the first commercial.

You are correct! Check out the Armstrong spokespeople identifications, beginning at about 28:52.

Yeah. Who'd have thought that they'd introduce themselves after the end credits rolled. ;-)
Many companies were hoping to find the next Betty Furness, who became the face of Westinghouse thanks to doing their commercials on STUDIO ONE.
