Update after doing more Ornament Extraction: Doing it this week with a new save file I'm clearing the new boss fight in 40-50 seconds and I'm not using a whale support. I'm also autoing it to go a bit faster. I guess the save file I had last week was just terrible and doing it manually was also slowing me down. I'm genuinely surprised by the difference in clear speed between two save files. So in the end I don't think OE is bad anymore, though I think the RNG between save files can make a bit too much of a difference in clear speeds. Hopefully that will become less of a factor as the skill tree gets filled out and people learn how to more consistently get good buffs during the DU run. Also I wanted to say thank you to the people who left constructive comments and didn't just say " You suck. Use a whale support".
I think Hoyo has made it clear by this point that planar sets are not intended to be as easy to farm as normal relic sets. They give stronger 2pc bonuses than the normal relic domains and grant access to unique main stats that can define a build. Of course the original system was way too time consuming, but i dont think the objective with the update was to completely remove that factor, but instead to mitigate it. Personally, i have no complaints with the new system. I load my save file, nuke the boss in 1-2 minutes, and move on just like i do with relic domains, only it takes maybe twice as long.
1 run of DU for the week to get all your SU points and get a save file. You can use a support character along with your save file to make your group even stronger if you have a whale on your friend list. Then just go into extraction, set it on auto and put your phone down. Play it like the mobile game it is and you're fine.

It's not TOO SLOW BRUDDA, DU > SU now
In simulated universe it will take like 10 minutes daily to farm planar ornaments. In divergent it will take more time the first try of the week, once you have a save file you can keep farming more based on your trailbaze power. I say Divergent is faster.
Wait are you saying this is slower than doing another SU run? I dont know about that. DU on difficulty 5 at 0 torturous level is pretty fast. the boss dies pretty fast too. I mean you do have acheron. I think your judging it too early.
Initially, I was bummed that the save file resets each week, because I was hoping I could just kind of SKIP the weekly Simulated Universe grind alltogether. However, this is still a colossal upgrade to planner ornament grinding. For one thing, if you try to do clears in regular Simulated universe, you have to do it twice to collect all of the rewards. But with Divergent universe, even though it can take a bit longer to clear, you only need to clear it once to claim all Herta rewards. Two, this now enables people to effortlessly farm planner orbs in a timely manner. My planner orbs SUCK on a lot of my characters, just because it takes so long to clear SU for each run. Third, as you mentioned, the level of power you can obtain in Divergent universe is way higher than that of SU. Even if your run kind of sucked, it's still enough to effortlessly blow through bosses. (Save for maybe the trio) Especially if you're using the right team. Or borrowing a whale's character, since you can do that now. I do wish we could just have at least 1 permenant save file, this is still a VASTLY greater improvement for people who want a way to consistently farm Planner Ornaments.

I literally just tried that boss using just Harmony TB and friend E6 FF while most of my blessings are catered for FUA...Finished the whole fight in one minute on auto...The other boss also feels the same as in normal SU as well, so I don't think you'll have any easier time even if they make it like before, forcing you to do two whole runs just to get the weekly points and if you want to farm more, you have to do the entire run again as opposed to just borrow someone else's whale unit then run just the boss for one minute per round for planar set. And I literally am still at synchronicity lv 5 bcs I only do one run per week for weekly points only as I hate SU in general anyway, both before and now, so the tree is still pretty empty too. I'm complaining because it feels bad from my experience. And if I'm competent enough at the game to get all stars in Apocalyptic Shadow that means there are a lot of players who will have a worse experience than me.

If that's your only real suggestion for people that take awhile to clear it then you're essentially saying the feature only feels good for whales. Honestly, I don't believe that SU is faster than DU. Even doing only the weekly required for the simulated universe 14000 points, two runs of SU should still be slower than a single run of DU. DU is also faster than getting 14000 points from swarm or GnG. Planar extraction is also something we can autoplay like doing a cavern. I much prefer letting auto farm for me while I do something else than play through simulated universe and need to walk, pick domains and choose blessings. All I have to do is to challenge again every so often. If we store up a lot of immersifiers and/or TB power to do multiple extractions in one sitting then planar extraction is much faster than SU. This happens a when we're saving for planar fissure events or waiting for a new planar set to release. You can also use supports in DU. Even if you don't have a friend with E6S5 Firefly or Acheron, someone with a more relatable build like E0S1 or E2S0 could still speed up your planar farming. You can also use a strong sustain or buffer instead. You shouldn't be dying or taking too long to kill the bosses anyway.
The thing is that you get relics and weekly points at the same time while doing your SU runs. If you're just doing enough to fill out your weekly points while getting some relics at the same time then SU is faster. OE seems like it only becomes faster if you're farming a lot of relics that week. I do recognize that OE is very auto/afk friendly. I didn't think of that when recording this video because I personally don't like autoing anything.
If it takes you 1 minute and a half to beat every other boss that is not past, present and future, then just go do a run of DU where you get better RNG for the blessings, i can literally beat those guys 8 times in 8-9 minutes(sometimes in 6 if i get better RNG with the DU blessings), i just hit challenge again and leave it on auto, its literally better and all i have to do is one run every week, i get the weekly rewards and then i go farm every day without saying like aww man i gotta do an entire simulated universe run each time i wanna farm relics, no. now i can just click in challenge and auto that stuff 8 times in 8 minutes.
I think the difference in clear times for me vs you and a lot of other people commenting is I don't auto. Auto would be faster cause even though the ai might not be as good as a player, it makes decisions instantly. Next time I use Ornament extraction I'll try autoing to see how much of a difference it makes.
You normally have to do 2 SU runs per week to get all weekly rewards, in DU you only have to do 1. If your save is even half decent you'll be clearing these bosses in less than 2 mins. This is no different than relic farming other than having to get a save first which you HAVE to do anyways for the weekly rewards. Maybe spend less time farming rage bait engagement and more time on ornaments
If it takes me 18 minutes to do two runs of SU on world 9 (9 minutes per run) and 12 minutes to do 8 runs of the death monster boss (1:30 per run) Then the DU run needs to be less than 6 minutes, which it won't be because it's longer than SU. So just doing 8 claims a week as I get my weekly points in SU is faster. OE only becomes faster if I want to farm much more than that, which I do say in the video.
I mean exactly what I say in the video. It was not fast based on my experience. If it was for you that's great, but I'm not talking about your experience.
It would be really nice to be able to extract more than once per run, agreed. I think you are meant to use the save file from the cyclical mode for your farming each week, so theoretically you'll always have one ready to go as long as you keep up on that mode.
Playing Divergent Universe for the skill tree unlocks, stellar jades, and fun will only last so long. Once those reasons are exhausted it will become just as much of a chore as regular Simulated Universe.

I don't even know of you are baiting or you just have a bad take on the subject. You clear Du in a week for the weekly rewards and have the save file at the same time. It may take longer than SU but the fact that you only have to do it once in a week then just farm ornaments anytime you want that week seems better and save you the hassle on spamming your acheron technique to get you to the boss on SU
The problem is that in SU you get your weekly points while getting relics at the same time. So SU is faster if I'm not farming that many ornaments that week.

Planar Ornament Extraction is meant to be a QOL for farming Planar ornaments so if you don't intend to farm ornaments then don't bother about it Let's put the efficiency of farming planar ornaments on both modes using the data you said in your video(Clear times) and 2400 TB fuel just to see which one would be quicker. 2400÷40=60 immersifier SIMULATED UNIVERSE You use 4 Immersifier per run in SU so i divided 60 by 4 60÷4(Immersifier per run)= 15 runs You said you usually clear SU on 9 Mins so multiply it by 15 runs 9(mins)*15(runs)=135 mins DIVERGENT UNIVERSE Lets say you take more time to complete 1 run In DU then 1:30 mins per planar ornament You use 1 Immersifier per run in planar extraction that takes you 1:30 mins 1.5(1:30 mins)*60(runs)= 90 Mins Then let's add your initial clear time of DU let's say you clear it In 15 mins DU+Planar extraction = 1hour and 45 Minutes Su= 2 hours and 15 minutes In conclusion as long as you don't take 45 minutes on clearing your first DU you essentially farm ornaments quicker In DU than SU I hope this small data comparison help you and others that may have some misconception about the 2 modes.If mathing ain't mathing or my english make you uncomfortable I'm sorry but both are not my expertise.

Given that DU is literally to market firefly, I simply added some rando with E6S5 Firefly and just spam them as support. About 1 minute per run even without a proper break effect team build (harmony mc, asta, adventurine)
I open to being proven wrong. If there are lots of ways to make it faster than surely you can share some of them? And please don't just say use a whale support, that's not a solution.
3 minutes to clear the Eternal Comedy? Nah It takes me 40 seconds to clear that. Honestly I think you either had a very bad run (because your clear speed WILL be heavily impacted how good/bad your save file used to clear it is) or your characters are poorly built. I'd suggest: being lucky/building your save file better next time, using someone's E6S1/S5 character and most importantly double checking your characters are actually well built as it is very clear your characters are very good/meta units. Honestly this update is "worse" if you were only doing 4 or less planner sphere farms a week (as before you could just end after claiming the first planner sphere rewards after the 1st elite which is definitely faster than doing a whole run (especially when archeron which I don't own). But it is easily LEAGUES better if you plan on slamming all your trailblaze into planner spheres as doing entire runs is 1: long and 2: tedious (requiring manual inputs every time vs. finishing one sim run (which every who wants the weekly rewards anyway) and doing ornament extractions and pressing "do again" and auto play killing the boss).
@@ShimerinGaming They're the last solutions you should resort to, I honestly believe your characters aren't built well or at all if it's taking that long to clear with very good/meta characters which is why I said it was most important versus the other 2 solutions.
@ShimerinGaming I've just had a look at them and they seem decent (I could tell that by full clearing difficulty 4 on Apoc). There shouldn't be any reason why it takes 3 minutes to clear a planner oranament, I quickly looked to see if they resist your team heavily, but they don't seem to. Are you expanding your equations and are they equations your team can abuse/utilise well?
@@spikiestlime2678 I prioritized taking blessing that activated the equations that I had except ones I couldn't make use of like one that required shields. Not sure if the equations I had we're great for my team though, I haven't seen that many of them yet.

So just doing 8 claims a week as I get my weekly points in SU is faster. OE only becomes faster if I want to farm much more than that, which I do say in the video.

Yes, that literally happens after the last boss in SU.
It would be really nice to be able to extract more than once per run, agreed. I think you are meant to use the save file from the cyclical mode for your farming each week, so theoretically you'll always have one ready to go as long as you keep up on that mode.
Playing Divergent Universe for the skill tree unlocks, stellar jades, and fun will only last so long. Once those reasons are exhausted it will become just as much of a chore as regular Simulated Universe.
@@ShimerinGaming Except you're ignoring the the fact that there is a weekly reset for SU. Containing jades, a standard pull, herta bonds and other resources.
I don't even know of you are baiting or you just have a bad take on the subject. You clear Du in a week for the weekly rewards and have the save file at the same time. It may take longer than SU but the fact that you only have to do it once in a week then just farm ornaments anytime you want that week seems better and save you the hassle on spamming your acheron technique to get you to the boss on SU
The problem is that in SU you get your weekly points while getting relics at the same time. So SU is faster if I'm not farming that many ornaments that week.

1.) You only need to Clear DU once and get ALL the weekly point rewards and a save file
2.) Planar Ornament Extraction is meant to be a QOL for farming Planar ornaments so if you don't intend to farm ornaments then don't bother about it
Let's put the efficiency of farming planar ornaments on both modes using the data you said in your video(Clear times) and 2400 TB fuel just to see which one would be quicker.
2400÷40=60 immersifier
SIMULATED UNIVERSE
You use 4 Immersifier per run in SU so i divided 60 by 4
60÷4(Immersifier per run)= 15 runs
You said you usually clear SU on 9 Mins so multiply it by 15 runs
9(mins)*15(runs)=135 mins
DIVERGENT UNIVERSE
Lets say you take more time to complete 1 run In DU then 1:30 mins per planar ornament
You use 1 Immersifier per run in planar extraction that takes you 1:30 mins
1.5(1:30 mins)*60(runs)= 90 Mins
Then let's add your initial clear time of DU let's say you clear it In 15 mins
DU+Planar extraction = 1hour and 45 Minutes
Su= 2 hours and 15 minutes
In conclusion as long as you don't take 45 minutes on clearing your first DU you essentially farm ornaments quicker In DU than SU
I hope this small data comparison help you and others that may have some misconception about the 2 modes.If mathing ain't mathing or my english make you uncomfortable I'm sorry but both are not my expertise.

Given that DU is literally to market firefly, I simply added some rando with E6S5 Firefly and just spam them as support. About 1 minute per run even without a proper break effect team build (harmony mc, asta, adventurine)

I open to being proven wrong. If there are lots of ways to make it faster than surely you can share some of them? And please don't just say use a whale support, that's not a solution.

3 minutes to clear the Eternal Comedy? Nah It takes me 40 seconds to clear that. Honestly I think you either had a very bad run (because your clear speed WILL be heavily impacted how good/bad your save file used to clear it is) or your characters are poorly built. I'd suggest: being lucky/building your save file better next time, using someone's E6S1/S5 character and most importantly double checking your characters are actually well built as it is very clear your characters are very good/meta units.
Honestly this update is "worse" if you were only doing 4 or less planner sphere farms a week (as before you could just end after claiming the first planner sphere rewards after the 1st elite which is definitely faster than doing a whole run (especially when archeron which I don't own). But it is easily LEAGUES better if you plan on slamming all your trailblaze into planner spheres as doing entire runs is 1: long and 2: tedious (requiring manual inputs every time vs. finishing one sim run (which every who wants the weekly rewards anyway) and doing ornament extractions and pressing "do again" and auto play killing the boss).
Getting lucky with blessings and using a whale support are not solutions.
@@ShimerinGaming They're the last solutions you should resort to, I honestly believe your characters aren't built well or at all if it's taking that long to clear with very good/meta characters which is why I said it was most important versus the other 2 solutions.

@ShimerinGaming I've just had a look at them and they seem decent (I could tell that by full clearing difficulty 4 on Apoc). There shouldn't be any reason why it takes 3 minutes to clear a planner oranament, I quickly looked to see if they resist your team heavily, but they don't seem to. Are you expanding your equations and are they equations your team can abuse/utilise well?
@@spikiestlime2678 I prioritized taking blessing that activated the equations that I had except ones I couldn't make use of like one that required shields. Not sure if the equations I had we're great for my team though, I haven't seen that many of them yet.
