I just finished the Fifth Season the other day and I am DYING to finish the rest of the series. It was So good, totally lives up to the hype. I love the writing style, the 2nd person I actually really liked, it made a lot of the emotions hit harder I think and just really worked... granted, the 2nd person character is a mom and I am a mom, so I related a lot of felt a lof of those heavy emotions.
I loved The Empire of Gold! It is a chunker, but I sped through it. :) The Fifth Season, and that entire series, is fantastic, and it's definitely a series that benefits from knowing as little as possible going in.
Me: Okay, no more youtube today. Ashleigh: Hahahaha, no. I just read ACOFAS and I understand why people say it is pointless but... I loved it!! Everytime I finish a fantasy book I want to see more of the character's everyday life and SJM gave us just that!! And I can't wait to get my mits on the Daevabad trilogy, I'm planning on reading the three of them in August. And "The Well of Ascension" was soooo good as well, I read the trilogy in April/May and I couldn't stop! My number one priority is definitely the nevernight trilogy!! Also I want to at least read one or two N.K. Jemisin's books because they all sound amazing!
I really need to get to The Priory of the Orange Tree at some point this year!! 😍 It's one of the longest books on my TBR so it's been intimidating but I'm so excited to read it!
I also want to read The Fifth Season and Girl, Woman, Other by the end of this year, especially because I got a copy of the latter for my birthday last month! I also want to pick up The Black Flamingo and Felix Ever after before the end of this year! And you've reminded me that I reeeeaally need to finally get to The City of Brass this year 🙈
I’m really looking forward to your thoughts on Son of the Shadows. And I need to read The Empire of Gold too, I keep putting on TBRs, but then... time 😅
The Fifth Season is amazing! I really want to catch up with the Stormlight Archive before the end of the year so I can read the 4th one when it comes out.
Empire of Gold was so good! Hope you end up enjoying it! I also remember really enjoying Son of Shadows. I read it over ten years ago, though, so I couldn’t remotely say what it’s about. 😂 I read the Sevenwaters books back when it was supposed to be a trilogy. Been meaning to reread them for so long.
Ah, I really hope you manage to read the rest of Mistborn - it has an EPIC conclusion and Sanderson has quickly become my new favourite author! I hope you get around to reading all of the books on your list! I’m thinking of picking up Assassin’s Apprentice soon 🤗
the fifth season yess!!! i think you're really going to like it! i don't think the writing style is hard to get into persay, I think it really is the 2nd person that can be an issue for some people.
I’ve just finished Girl, Woman, Other and despite the tiny writing, I read it in a couple of days because it’s written so conversationally and it’s just so easy to fall Into. Normally a fantasy reader but I really liked it :) also the fifth season is AMAZING, currently reading the second book, the obelisk gate :)
I want to get through as many Wheel of Time books as possible by the end of the year. Currently on to book 4 which is on my August Tome Topple TBR. I also want to finish the First Era of Mistborn too.
I’ve just finished girl woman other and it is incredible! Each character has such a strong voice! A lot of the woman in the book are lesbians and it is so well written and such an important book. I really hope you enjoy ❤️
I would say that opinion about The Testaments is pretty much general opinion. :) I liked Girl, Woman, Other a lot. If you want other recommendations from the booker Prize 2019, my favorites were Lanny by Max Porter and An Orchestra of Minorities by Chigozie Obioma. Considering it's outside of your usual reading taste, probably slim chances you'll give them a try. But Lanny is a really short read and now one of my favorite books ever.
I really need to read Through the Looking Glass before the end of the year. I've read Alice in Wonderland over and over for years, but for some reason never continued?
I have literally just brought the last few Throne of Glass books...which order do they need to be read? I am so so looking forward to the new ACOTAR series coming in the new year xx
I loved empire of gold. I kept on thinking how on earth is the author going to be able to raise the stakes any higher? And then I was like.... OK yeah, the stakes have been RAISED!!!😄😂
I also really disliked The Testaments and think it was virtually pointless. I thought Empire of Gold was great by the way, it may just be my all time favourite series, but I have to think on it some more.
I really want to get into Brandon Sanderson’s series but I don’t like starting series that haven’t been finished yet 😩🤣 is there a series of his that is completed?
The Mistborn trilogy is complete! There is a second trilogy in the Mistborn world, and he’s writing more in the Mistborn world, but they’ll follow completely different characters. There’s also Elantris and Warbreaker which are both standalone books 😁
Tess Of The Tales ahhh I might get onto the mistborn then if the second trilogy follows different characters! Thankyou! And I heard that Elantris and warbreaker we’re getting sequels so I’m hesitant to start them 😂
The Fifth Season is also so high on my TBR!! Heard nothing but amazing things about it.
Good luuuuuck with your TBR

I want to read The Priory Of The Orange Tree. But it's the biggest book on my owned TBR.
Beth Taylor same...! So intimidating lol
ahh Juliet Marillier is so wonderful! 🌿💚

2 months later and you’ve completed a good portion of this list!!! The Juliet Mariller book sounds so interesting!!!
Me and you on The Testaments is like that Spider-Man meme where he's pointing at himself
The Mistborn trilogy is so good huhu. Had such a mind blowing conclusion.
Nice video! Kingdom of Ash is a excellent conclusion of a series and one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
such great books! most of them are on my tbr as well, yes
I really need to get to The Priory of the Orange Tree at some point this year!! 😍 It's one of the longest books on my TBR so it's been intimidating but I'm so excited to read it!
I definitely want to read The Fifth Season! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it :)

Good luck! I'm planning on bingereading all of SJM before the end of the year.... let's see how it goes!
I’m really looking forward to your thoughts on Son of the Shadows. And I need to read The Empire of Gold too, I keep putting on TBRs, but then... time 😅
The Fifth Season is amazing! I really want to catch up with the Stormlight Archive before the end of the year so I can read the 4th one when it comes out.
ahhh that sounds like a fab goal!
I've just finished The Empire of Gold and loved it. I am going to try and read The Mistborn Trilogy this year as well as some more diverse fiction.
The Empire of Gold!! I so want to read it before the year ends.. its one of those incredible series MythTake Reads introduced me to ❤😊
I want to finish the ACOTAR and Daevabad trilogies. I’ve read the first book for both so far. Also might have to check out The Fifth Season now...
Ah, I really hope you manage to read the rest of Mistborn - it has an EPIC conclusion and Sanderson has quickly become my new favourite author! I hope you get around to reading all of the books on your list! I’m thinking of picking up Assassin’s Apprentice soon 🤗
kingdom of ash is big but it devours itself when you start reading it!
I really hope so 😂
the fifth season yess!!! i think you're really going to like it! i don't think the writing style is hard to get into persay, I think it really is the 2nd person that can be an issue for some people.
Fingers crossed you're right!!

Im currently rereading the Mistborn triolgy. I hope you enjoy carrying on with it
I really want to read The Poppy War !
The Well of Ascension is an AMAZING middle book in a series, which is rare for most series 😂 It’s just so good so I hope you get to it this year
I want to get through as many Wheel of Time books as possible by the end of the year. Currently on to book 4 which is on my August Tome Topple TBR. I also want to finish the First Era of Mistborn too.
If it was literally anyone besides you, I would be baffled by that goal but your ability to tackle the huge books baffles me every time 😂
Ha you aren’t the only one, baffles me too 😂. Yeah my August TBR doesn’t let up either
That edition of the Well of Ascension has a small summary of book 1 in the back
omg I didn't know that! That's handy, thank you for telling me!
@@AFrolicThroughFiction Just started it a little while ago, and I was so glad for the summary❤
Well of Ascension has a recap in the ars arcum. :)
I didn’t know this, thank you!!
I’ve just finished girl woman other and it is incredible! Each character has such a strong voice! A lot of the woman in the book are lesbians and it is so well written and such an important book. I really hope you enjoy ❤️
The audiobook for Kingdom of Ash is sooooo good so hopefully you like it! Also at least half of these are on my TBR too so we're in this together!!

priority for the rest of the year: Count of Monte Cristo which I'll be reading over the next 6 months for a buddyread
My goal for the rest of the year is to finish the books i already started 😃
I want to read the Mistborn series so badly but I desperately need to stop starting new series and actually finish one
Have really enjoyed this video and you covered some bloody cracking books, have missed your video’s going up so it’s great to see you and the books xx
THAT INTRO, is it new or have I just not been paying attention!?
I loved empire of gold. I kept on thinking how on earth is the author going to be able to raise the stakes any higher? And then I was like.... OK yeah, the stakes have been RAISED!!!😄😂
p.s. i love your haaiiiiiirrrr
Thank you!!
I also really disliked The Testaments and think it was virtually pointless. I thought Empire of Gold was great by the way, it may just be my all time favourite series, but I have to think on it some more.

Danielle m ah yeah I heard he might be writing sequels to them eventually, that’s fair! Definitely try Mistborn, it’s so good!
Danielle m OH he also has a YA sci-fi series called Steelheart which I believe is complete, always forget about that series haha!
Tess Of The Tales thanks so much for your help 😁
These are all on my TBR xD I'm doing well at reading them (not).
