Seeing this gorgeous home and the Beautiful grounds and the water that's how I can imagine being in a place like this having Big Dreams. I love it's gorgeous
I stayed in this house for a retreat. For many years it was owned by the Domincan Sisters of Amityville. A lot went into its renovation, but staying there you could see the potential of a beautiful home.
My butler refuses to consider the move. He is not willing to downsize. Oh well, good staff are hard to find, so I shall have to continue looking. Poor people just don't realise how bullied we rich people are by our staff.
A truly spectacular home indeed. The remodeling and alterations are superb. Every detail appear top notch. Particularly the removal of many of the I'll executed additions and alterations. Now, the home has been reborn. She looks as if she always meant to be this grand. This production did her justice. Many happy memories of all to short summers and holidays thanks to this grand home. I do hope future owner's carry on the role of custodian: rather than demolishing this gem to build a cheap, oversized knockoff of old estates that formerly dominated the shoreline. Or worse yet, an even cheaper, tacky attempt to copy grand European architecture. I can still see the outline of original swimming pool in the lawn. A new pool was moved to the side. The original was filled in in order to reclaim the unobstructed view once marred by poolside umbrellas, furniture, a rolling bar, several gas lamp-post lighting the pool deck, and a diving board. As well as provide ample flat turf to host large dinners, events, projection movie nights, and to play various lawn games like bocce ball, croquet, lawn darts, Cornhole, lawn bowling, badminton, and so on. Cheers!
The wide land beside the river is included in the estate? Or not? Nice place to raise the children. This house can be a bonus for the most effective CEO who earns half Billion for me!
The nuns retired there & ran retreats to support & maintain it. The Catholic church tried taking it away from them, they went to court, court said church did nothing to help maintain it & just wanted the money. Church lost nuns won & they sold it, there was like 3 or 4 left all above 80. It was like a retirement home. Now in good hands.
Finger-snapping music? Is this a subtle way of saying the house is a bit lowbrow? If so, that IS the Hamptons consensus regarding the place, and why it's still sitting, unwanted.
Nothing about this house looks to be from the 1890s maybe some of the outside but not all and the inside looks like it was completely redone with modern everything.
Its too big and its a slap or two in the hard working americans face to see money exploding so enormously rich into these types of buildings. They are called homes yes but most times they are usually bought for the purpose of summer gatherings of well over done wealthy people. As these types of places are everywhere from coast to coast and usually are only occupied for summer living. Then in winter the house sits empty as the owners go to their other gigantic dwelling.
Your right as I live only next door to this house and I really want a bigger one like that one next door. I was hoping the owner would see my comment so to give me a much better deal and price. So sorry to bother you.@@jody024
They are a place to stash their money and show off, real-estate very rarely looses money, they have to do something with it, also they can spend a few million on renovations, then claim it on their tax, it keeps the tax man from getting so much, if nothing else, they are making some work for contractors for a while, and there must be a lot of staff to maintain it, what the hell.
Actually in 2018 it was broken up and sold in 2 parts. One buyer bought the house for $36m and another buyer bought the 2 adjacent parcels for like $13m. So all together $49m
derek452 it’s still a very small house, a friend of mine lives in a house 3mil$ more expensive than this (75mil$USD) and it’s way bigger than that, expensive material and ultra fancy style.
I will also have a house like this in future.

Btw its urs
Only word I can use is stunning. It shows taste, a central theme and fabulous landscaping, incorporating indoor and outdoor living.
Wha5s the lovely music track to this video
But the asking price is too much for a house like that. Even in new York.

Living the life and living it large! 🙌 Impeccable
Tastefully furnished for a change
Love the restraint. Most of those mega's are garish nightmares. I wonder if the pool is salt.
Breath taking ❤
Class! Speechless
And for this place it's still amazing

Anthony I lucky you🇮🇪😊
How can a religious organization own this ?
It was given to the nuns, by the man who built it, I believe he never lived there, built for wife who passed away.
Thank you.

The wide land beside the river is included in the estate? Or not? Nice place to raise the children. This house can be a bonus for the most effective CEO who earns half Billion for me!
I agree
I will all ready purchase in mega mansion 650 karod
I imagine the landscaping would be a cool million per year. No thanks.
150k
To be fair, if you’re able to pay 72m for a house I’m pretty sure 1m a year isn’t all that much

Where is the Wow!!?
Music name?
I suppose it would surfice as my maids quarters
Surprised you can keep staff if you treat them that badly. Personally I think it's not quite good enough for my rabbits.

This video doesn't even show the big gate house, you only see it for a second at the beginning of the driveway on the left.
from the thumbnail I thought this was a sims 4 building video 😭

Even if this was a gift I would need $12M per year to keep it. Pass.
PAK BANE JMAY MAY ZINCE ALLAH HAY LAGER BIGWR KAY

So what.... not their fault.

72 mil for a house haunted by dead nuns. No ty
Is that supposed to be a mega mansion.. that things way too small, that price tag also is just randomly there 😂😂
