3: Will Honing Alone Save this 7M Block?? Project 88 Update & A little peek into Machine Shop life!!

  • In this video, I am back at Hill Country Performance and Machine and Danny gives me a crash course on honing, as we see how bad the damage to Project 88's donor block is!! This is less of a DIY (my typical!) video than it is an update/vlog style video showing you a little insight into a Friday evening at the machine shop, so I hope you enjoy!!

One thing you managed to finely and expertly hone was your sense of wordplay humor! Such wonderful boring boring puns!

I did laugh aloud when Danny said, "You're not gonna hurt anything, we know we're boring" - unintentional wordplay is also very good

You could bore and sleeve it back to stock if you can't get oversize slugs for it. Used to do that with the 140 blocks out of Vegas due to those lovely silica added aluminum blocks. That and cutting the heads for better stem seals.

Enjoying your 88 build and already learned so much. I had zero experience when I started automotive classes. It gave me a lot of info but not a lot of knowledge on application. Techniques and little tricks, videos like that are a huge help. I am going to have to overhaul a 4r55e transmission eventually. Hoping to learn some new tricks and techniques that will help. Wish I could learn from your tutor. He sounds super knowledgeable. Always wanted to do an apprenticeship.
