White Pines State Park in Illinois, old cabin chimney

    Thought this was built in the 1600s, but it may have been a cabin number or something built in the 1930s from what I have researched.

    I think this was actually built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Crops during the Great Depression. Took me a bit to find out.

      sure that wasn't the date from the Lodge/restaurant? The history around this place is stretchy

      @@JosephredT the logo appears to be a CCC logo on the bricks. I'm not 100 percent certain, but this was a Nationally-funded initiative that seems to date back to roughly that era. I originally thought it was a date on the bricks going back to the 1600s, but what I've studied seems to now contradict that theory after seeing the logo on the structure.
