I don't think eng is concerned on winning at all costs, it's more to do with building a culture, team for the future and to offer as much cricket as possible to the fans.
We Indian fans know that the ODIs and T20s are going to be more fun because England are more than capable of winning both of them. Its going to be an even contest.
It will be a close series. Both the teams are equally capable to win. England does not have an edge in white ball . Both the teams are equally matched.
The present England batsmen excepting a few have no idea how to play spin. You must agree that Ashwin does intelligent bowling trying to systematically follow the weakness of the batsman.
Before the series England felt so confident after beating Srilanka , it thought They had great preparation , we knew in which den u r putting step into

For every Athers and Nasser there’s a Bumble and Key! Atherton and Nasser up there with Bishop as the best commentators around. I hope the WTC final is covered by solely those 3! Would be great to listen to
Man management is the most important thing in building a winning cricket team. That is what India has in spades right now. They have such depth. England have a fractured team same as Australia

@@eyecontrol4900 You got that right my friend. You can only think of being neutral or criticizing Indian performance when you ready to retire from BCCI payroll.
It’s more about exposure of young players to Sub continent conditions, India doing the hat very well, Indian A team touring Aus, NZ and England frequently, this is helping young players to understand and play seaming conditions
I love the way Nasser speaks the facts, he goes on to say, the moment it spins England does not have the answer, which is exactly the case in the first test at Chennai, the first two days of the first test, the ball didn't even bounce if not turn. So India realised their mistake and took the grass off the remaining matches. I would even say except the third test the other pitches are not bad as people say.

Apart from that, it was a lovely performance from the home team. England team could have performed better if they don’t follow the rotation policy and had some adaptability. England’s players have come in for justified criticism within England, just as the questioning over the pitches has been justified. Just stick to T20 and stop trying to bleach cricket further.

A lot of people thought it would be 4-0 so we’ve exceeded those expectations!! It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the score is reversed in the series in England in the summer.
But at least India would go down fighting even it's 4-0 like they did last time unlike England who rely on toss, also even if India bats under sun and England bats under clouds in one test then it would be 3-1 for sure, I hope you got the point. The fact that England had a big advantage to bat in best batting conditions in 4th and still lost by an innings lol, I mean India did way better in 2018 even after losing all the tosses especially that Lord's one
@@GauravYadav-bf7qj England went down fighting they just weren’t good enough in those conditions. The pitches were not the problem as well apart from the 3rd test which was awful. India getting bowled out for 145 in their first innings proved that. India will fight in the series in the summer but I still think England will win comfortably. Due to the way we play in our conditions.

Hey Nasser Hussain - Like Sir Vivian said "quit the moanin and groanin about the pitch..." . India doesn't complain about pitches when you make them grassy/bouncy as you always have been making them.
As abysmal as England have been the pitch for the second and third tests was farcical and lazy dismissal of the criticism of it only harms test cricket. Your Neanderthal mentality is exactly what is killing the purest format of the game
@@soumyapradhan6107 Yes, regardless of a team’s ability to play spin it’s commonly accepted that a pitch should deteriorate over time so as to offer something for all facets of the game. It’s a shame because this Indian attitude is simply going to lead to a race to the bottom for pitches, with spin becoming even less influential in other countries as we become forced to produce greener wickets that won’t deteriorate and Australia try to producer faster tracks. It’s just another area of the game that Indian impatience and simplicity is going to damage just like with their T20 hysteria. The pitch didn’t need to be so doctored, Axar and Ashwin are just fantastic and their variation was absolutely fantastic to watch, the batsmen looked totally pinned by every ball.

The point on making pitches for domestic games spin more is valid. Somerset were deducted 12 points for making a spinning pitch just over a year ago. The funny thing was that Somerset lost the game, and it showed that there seems to be a decision process where on occasions swinging and seaming conditions that are arguably harder to bat on is fair but when it spins or bounces a bit more, the teams preparing the pitches are punished. The other point it highlighted was that "a fair contest between bat and ball" is subjective as if our domestic players can't bat well against spin, any pitch moderately spinning will be deemed unfair to the batsman. Our batsman simply won't learn that way.
First of all, you guys have to provide spin condition pitches to your players in England. You guys play all time on seaming pitches then how could you develop world class spinner or spin playing technical batsman. So understand your priorities.
Relished the test match with lockdown in place. Realised how much of strategy and ability to understand so many variables are needed in a test match. The commentary helps hugely to appreciate the nuances.
Very poor showing in the final 3 tests but at least it wasn’t a clean sweep many were predicting, beating India in India is a mammoth task. More spinner friendly pitches needed in England as there is a clear shortage of quality spinners and players of spin.
The biggest mistake we made was sticking with the rotation policy in the series. It’s a series against India in India!! One of the hardest series there is. You play your best team in every test match. We won the first test. We should have kept the same team for the next test match. Playing our best team would have given us the best chance of winning. Instead we chopped and changed and made big mistakes with selection.

@@cadetkidkilla the 2nd test pitch? The one where India scored 615 in total?
@@soumyapradhan6107 Yes, regardless of a team’s ability to play spin it’s commonly accepted that a pitch should deteriorate over time so as to offer something for all facets of the game. It’s a shame because this Indian attitude is simply going to lead to a race to the bottom for pitches, with spin becoming even less influential in other countries as we become forced to produce greener wickets that won’t deteriorate and Australia try to producer faster tracks. It’s just another area of the game that Indian impatience and simplicity is going to damage just like with their T20 hysteria.
