@@joys8634 I see your point but that can happen prior to becoming old, you moron. Sounds like youve been living in a bubble... Shit can change overnight regardless of age.
Agreed. You feel fully awake and energized. First the adrenaline and then, after extended effort, the endorphins. It's a universal experience. She probably doesn't get endorphins, though, from running for 11 minutes. :-)
this just hit me hard I need to work out this lady just got me on a mission to try jog or walk 30 minutes a day for the next 102 Days as a reference to her.
im probably going to live this long cuss my great grandma and we live up to 90-100 and also my sister will live that age like she said she good with 90s
This is such an extraordinary story! I love her beautiful spirit to live. Never underestimate the power of a positive mind! God bless her. Wish I could give her a hug.
She came in last in the 80+ age bracket, but she was the only runner over 100. So a new record for the 60-meter dash for age 100+! And she is running, not walking. You can see at playback speed 0.25 that there is a fraction of a second when both feet are off the ground. Her 60-meter time of 24.75 sec amounts to a 11 min 4 sec mile. That's faster than most people walk (15 minute mile).
What amazes me is how her joints hold up at 102. I work out 5-days a week, but don’t run because of arthritis and knee pain, and I’m a few decades younger. I really wish I could run, but it would cripple me. I don’t know how these older people do it without injuring their joints. It’s truly amazing.
I'm aghast that anyone would think to give this story a thumbs down!! Julia is a remarkable Lady with a truly wonderful story about her long incredible life and her amazing running achievements.
Julia is an amazing n inspiring woman to ALL. As the saying goes when you are physically fit, it blesses and helps you in all other facets of your Life. She will not slow down that adrenaline rush until the very end and so be it, good on her. She is living her purpose and not wasting any moment.
Julia also ran (and won, of course) in June, 2019 in Albuquerque at age 103! She was scheduled to run March, 2020 at 104, but the virus canceled the meet. Hope she runs in 2021 at age 105!
She has a ton of dedication. To be able to run like that at 102 is mind-blowing. It really is. I walk a ton, and my left knee isn't the greatest, but I hope to still be walking at 80, 85, or even 90 if I live that long. She's amazing.
Truly amazing. Most people who live as long as she has, are fortunate to still be able to walk without assistance, let alone run. And to still have her mental faculties, as well. She's very fortunate.
Anybody that thumb down this video is depressed about life!!! She is just adorable. Enjoying what's left of life to the fullest. This is so inspirational & beautiful. Go Julia, go!!!
That isn’t normal either, but people today trash their health and live stressful. People passing in their 50’s 60’s, 70’s etc is not normal but I guess in these unhealthy times sure.
