I have that exact bike...just a little more wear and tear but close to cherry. 1500 miles on the clock. They sure are a great little bike. I take off and run the hills near where I live in NorCal. Even being 300lbs the little Honda carries me up the steepest hills. I believe it has the factory front tire as well. I bought it for my wife, paid $700. It gives me "Ride-itis". I simply cannot park it after I get on it. Hey brother, just wanted to say that what you are doing is wonderful. The empire you have created is so admirable and a true testament to the joy of riding. Almost anything with two wheels is worthy of your attention and love. I would visit but am so far away. IF I ever do a cross country your establishment will be one of my stops. Ride to live...Live to RIDE.
I watched this when I met a guy who had one but wouldn't budge on selling, I manifested owning it. Today im changing the oil and gonna learn how to ride my new 1980 XL185S.
Back in the early 80's, a friend of mine had one, bought it new. Exact bike, he rode to work almost everyday. That bike got at least 80mpg.. $3 or less to fill it.. Gas at the time was around $1.25 a gallon. He logged allot miles... Chain and sprockets wore out at 5k.. Simple oil change, valve adjust once a year and it just kept going!! Great bikes! Whom ever buys it will a real gem!!
I owned that same bike for many years and what I found very interesting about it is. On WOT>> it was actually Faster.then The Xl500s...I took my xl 185 to 85mph and my buddies xl500 top end was 80mph...pretty awesome for a Lil 185cc bike
Thumpers can use momentum and low end torque to produce impressive woods and trails speed. They might not have blazing power but with technique they can produce good results. Generally better fuel range on a tank of fuel than two stroke equivalent machine.
The funny part is that little old bike makes more power than a stock WR250 and is about 50 pounds lighter with a steel frame instead of aluminum. The WR250R makes about 14hp and those made 16/19 depending on the source you find.
Kaplan lol funny beginning on vid. Hey thats a nice bike that xr. You know what id like to see is the 71 harley davidson baja 100. You should come up on one and do a vid on it. Great time pieces here boyzzz!!!
Compared to the XL100 and XL125 these are much more adult sized and a bit more suspension. Great all-around bikes with excellent fuel economy and reliability. XL200 = very hard to find certain years. XR200 excellent 2 valve play-bike.
Nice old bike, ligth weight, easy start, good suspension, many miles per galon, alls Honda XL models they are still working. Great Machines. I started with Honda XL 75, 1979. Best Regards I live your videos, Thanks
you must get two suzuki pv50cc European version or Suzuki EPO 50cc epo its japan version, and there is 80cc parts online but back in days 90% of my friends got suzuki 80cc pv's or suzuki R what its like mini streetbike, many machines those at get bigger piston and also ported head and many use a gianelli or malossi race pipes.
I had one of these. It was a 84 model. Unfortunately it was molested. I rode the crap out if that thing. I actually cracked the frame rail. My Dad was not happy with me. 🤨
