Teams of engineers worked Saturday on the intricate process of cutting and lifting the first section of twisted steel from the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge, which crumpled into the Patapsco River this week after a massive cargo ship crashed into one of its supports.
Sparks could be seen flying from a section of bent and crumpled steel in the afternoon, and video released by officials in the evening showed demolition crews using a cutting torch to slice through the thick beams. The joint incident command said in a statement that the work was being done on the top of the north side of the collapsed structure.

This is not a job for the faint of heart. i`m proud see people wanting to help people, and this is an american project we all need to support. physical, and financial. God bless the volunteers . Safety First.

Dali was deemed unfit for work and its clearly deemed not seaworthy That has already been proven by the records that the former inspection stated list of items that needed to be fixed according to several inspectors and ports have stated but the owners did none of the list of problems it was also deemed that propulsion was not working properly and owners were told that formally but did not heed sending the Dali to sea instead greedily wanting more money from laden and unseaworthy Dali to sea !!

How many people can YOU see working on the nearly half-mile of fallen span? I see ZERO. The governor and media speak of "a 24/7" operation and a "national priority". The video consistently shows the opposite. No work crews and no floating cranes have yet been seen are seen anywhere along the fallen span since it fell. We know and understand that delicate work and careful planning is needed near the ship, but elsewhere, where the sections are disconnected from each other and work could be done by multiple teams at different points, absolutely nothing is happening, and no news media are telling this obvious truth. The claim that work is progressing well is an absolute lie. The cameras do not lie.
