Went to a live Dr. Wayne Dyer presentation in Dallas back in 1997 at one of the Unity Churches there. He closed the show with the lights turned down and the room in total silence before he played the song. He asked us all there to close our eyes and just "feel" the song - the tears streamed all around me that night. I've never forgotten the beauty of her voice, or the scene that introduced the song to me that night. That's Wayne!
I heard Cecilia perform this song at a Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Stuart Wilde gig in Brisbane back in the early 90’s and bought the CD. It was such a soulful experience to be a part of! My mum loved her voice too, so it was one of the songs I chose for mum’s funeral a year ago today. I’ll have it at my funeral too❣️
I heard this song in jail Durango Phoenix Arizona went to a Mormon church service and the brothers would play this and have us close our eyes and meditate. Loved it thank you for helping me in a very tough time.
I bought this cd many many years ago and had the most amazing moment when we played this song outside late at night.... We sat at the seaside, he moon was reflecting in the water, and the only sound was this song and the slow waves at the shore.. Unforgettable!I recommend it :)
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now am found Was blind but now I see ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come It was grace that brought me safe thus far And grace will lead me home Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now am found Was blind but now I see Was blind but now I see
When I bought the CD, the clerk told me it has the most beautiful version of Amazing Grace on it... Could not be more right...There is a lot of versions of this song out there. This one is definitely at the top... it's like sometimes we have to go through the pain to feel...to feel songs like this one.
I love the name of the album "Voice of the Feminine Spirit"! Femininity needs to be honored and celebrated more. It is a precious gift to mankind. Gorgeous voice, Cecilia! Brian
I first heard this at a Chiropractic convention in Las Vegas when Wayne Dyer played it for us. 1000's of us sat crying. This song changed my life and practice. For a couple years I began every day listening to this song. No music has ever moved me so profoundly.
i first heard this on an audio cassette of Wayne Dyer, lent to me from a small book store on Balboa Island, CA.; when i was strung out on heroin n meth n booze back in 1992 or '93. there's a very long story to the journey that had followed the 2 days of listening to this cassette. after I had returned it, i have lived n died so many times n in so many ways! i am a wonder to myself in comparison to the dreams of many yesterdays. i am still n always be an addict n a wandering spirit of our sullen surface. thanx for listening.
I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I was an addict back in the 'Woodstock' days in August 1969. I have since cleaned myself up and enjoy a different kind of life. I still miss my Woodstock days and will always remember being at that amazing 3-day concert. Anyway, you will forever be in my prayers.
So did I...when I attended one of the Wayne Dwyer (R.I.P.) seminars in Toronto sometime in the '90s. He started his session with Celia's Amazing Grace (her name I subsequently discovered is Sissel) and said her voice is unique as can cover the full octave range. I quickly went to the adjacent book store and bought two CDs by Cecilia. I have since added a couple more under her name Sissel, one was advertised on TV.
I have this album, I never heard of Cecilia until I attended a conference where Wayne Dwyer was the speaker, he played this and the entire audience was blubbing myself included. One of the most beautiful voices ever.
That is so true it was playing the day I was born I remember somehow hearing it I had to find where the enchanting sound came from. I've always loved this song only song that inspires, soothes, and pacifies me. It came on the radio in the car once my mum and dad were in the car I was driving I said to them I heard this song the day I was born. Mum said impossible you were born in the evening.but the song did play on the record player at paps aka her dad's house he had played it by the royal sottish dragoon guards
Amazing grace, Oh, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, But now I'm found Was blind, But now I see When we've been there Ten thousand years, Bright shinning as the sun We've no less days To sing God's praise Then when, when we first begun Through many dangers Toils and snares I have already come T'was grace that brought me Safe thus far And grace will lead me home Amazing grace, Oh, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, But now I'm fou
1. Amazing grace, (oh) how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found; Was blind, but now I see. 2. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed. 3. Through many dangers, toils/trials and snares I have already come, 'twas grace that brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home. 4. When we've been here ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun; we've no less days to sing God's praise, than when we'd first begun. 5. The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures. He will my shield and portion be, as long as life endures. 6. Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am/I'm found; was blind, but now, I see. These are the complete words, though Cecilia does not sing verses 4 and 5 (I love verse 2. Those lyrics explain the moment one goes from disbelief, and doubt, to giving oneself to God in mind and soul). This recording by Cecilia really is a magnificent version of this song. :-)
This song is very special, only descovered this version of it today, its very special as its such a beautiful song and has my favourite animals dolphins in the background,im thinking of being in heaven with Jesus
lovely- she is in touch with the Gaelic singing tradition here. She couldbe singing this off the shores off Harris-Lewis or Barra. Spine-tingling and humbling!
She has a very powerfull, and at the same time relaxing voice, I cannot find the right words to describe it! The picture is a little bit phantom of the opera like!
I have looked for this for years... I heard it at a department head meeting believe it or not... it was brought as a warm up ..to relax us... and i have never been able to find the tape... this is just incredibly beautiful..Thank you!
I bought this version on I-Tunes and used it at my Mother's memorial service. She went to see Jesus on Easter Day. Perfect day to go heaven. This is such a powerful song and she sings it beautifully.
@Sopranelsker I`m a soprano myself. Do you sing yourself? You make it sound so easy, but you need to be born with a gift in many ways to sing this music, and with a lot of hard work you can be the best, either its being a footballplayer or a number one soprano, tenor etc. Every instrument needs adjustments, but the best instrument is yr voice! Don`t make it sound so easy!! Do you sing youself?
Listening to Cecilia sing feels like the skies have opened up and the universe is talking to us, my heart stopped with every single emotion lifting above the clouds

She made Amazing Grace amazing.
You have an angel voice and you make our souls to sing too. Thank you for all you gave us!

I was lucky to see her in person in Brisbane around 1996.
I bought her CD that day. It's been my favourite version since.

it is so scratched and dead that you could imgagine my delight at finding it in special imports at a cd store:D
Me too!
This is the song that I played at my best friends funeral in Miami. Love it so much
Blessings to you and your friend on his/her journey!
Awww sorry about that! ❤️R.I.P!!!❤️

Nothing brings more peace than this song.

Through many dangers

I have already come
T'was grace that brought me
Safe thus far
And grace will lead me home
Amazing grace,
Oh, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost,
But now I'm fou
