  • In contact sports such as Muay Thai, Boxing, Kick Boxing and the like, knocking the opponent out refers to the act of hitting the other fighter so that he/she falls to the ground and is unable to get up again within ten seconds.
So far the rule book definition. However, there is much more.
First of all knocking someone out is a form of artistry. In fact, a clean knock out is not a result of a repetition of several blows aimed at demolishing the other fighter. On the contrary, it is to be the effect of a single properly timed and perfectly executed strike (or a short combination) aimed at a sensitive spot.
In this video we analyse the following topics:
-The KO with loss of consciousness.
-The KO without loss of consciousness.
    -The Concussive Cerebral Syndrome.
    -The nervous KO.
    -The body weapons.
    Traditional techniques and modern application.
Voice over: Maria Quaglia (IMBA Australia)
    Editing: Alessandro Sogliano (IMBA Italy)
