Why do public schools administer these tests and who gets to keep the information on my child's hearing capabilities?? What business is it of the state to determine how precisely my child can hear?
Some states require hearings screenings. This data is kept in the child's folder and results are sent home. If you want you can usually refuse the screening for your child BUT you may be required to sign a waiver that says you refuse so that the state's department of education doesn't hold it against your child's school.

I use to love doing these test when I was a kid. It was nice to have a break from class plus I always found it relaxing.
