There's a story behind this song. DQ can speak to it betteor than I of course but this is the song he'd chosen to sing at an international contest which he won but the organizers *suggested" he sing a different one that was not Ukrainian given the contest was in Belarus. At the time I do not think DQ as a teen fully understood the reasons why but I'm certain he does now. He's loved this song for a very long time.
